    I've been doing some research on using pico projectors to decorate cookies. After I saw this video and your use of the Camera Lucida app I got curious and looked into the app. Turns out, the app is a tracing app used by others for cookie decorating. I've decided to forgo the $120+ projector altogether and just use the $6 app to decorate my cookies. Thank you for the video!

      I use tipless bags either from Grunderfully Delicious or from The Sweet Design Shoppe

    This projector gets the job done pretty well. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxS9P8zTOcmQg-hH0QeUi3dspOLyYgQ6dH Bear in mind it's a mini projector but all things considered the picture quality is pretty good. The attached photo is of the projector projecting onto my white closet doors. I still have not messed with the settings but I can't wait for our first family movie night on a larger scale. If you have issues with volume not working with your firestick, go into volume settings and you will find your solution there.

    Ok...im getting confused bc Im trying to use my new Pico WITHOUT the lucida app. The lucida app is usable witjout the pico.... And ove seen people use the pico without the app but not on android only on iphone.

    Im going to keep researching bc I really want my ohone to be free when im doing this and only want to use the pico.

    • @SweetSugarLaine
      @SweetSugarLaine  3 года назад +1

      Hmmmm....depending on the pico I think you can use a SD card? But I've seen people say that it's a little restrictive using it that way. You have to have the design saved on the card the exact size you need (which could be tricky)
      If you have a Bluetooth pico then you can hook up your phone without the cords....but you are still going to have to use your phone to project the image. I'm really not sure if there is any other way to use the pico on its own without your phone?

    Do you ever use a tip for your icing? I find just cutting the bag it doesn't cut properly? What bags do you use? Thanks!

    • @SweetSugarLaine
      @SweetSugarLaine  3 года назад +2

      When I first started I did use tips. But within a few months I switched to tipless bags. Not all bags are created equal! Some tipless bags have a big seam that can cause issues with the icing coming out smoothly. A few shops that I would recommend are: The Sweet Design Shoppe - her 30 micron small bags.....Truly Madly Plastics - their medium or small ....Grunderfully Delicious - small bags
      It is also important how you cut your bags....flatten the bag so that the seam is running up the top side of the bag (when you get them the seam will be flat along the edge of the bag) ...then flatten the seam out as best you can to the very tip. Then you will cut a tiny snip across the end perpendicular to the seam. I hope all that makes sense! It's kinda hard to explain :)

So you will have to either check on Amazon if such an adapter exists or go talk to the people at a Best Buy or some store similiar. Good luck!

    • @SweetSugarLaine

      The Lucida App is a great app but it doesn't project the image onto the cookie like the Pico does. If you use the tablet stand she has for her Pico you can put it directly over the cookie and decorate it by looking through your tablet, using the camera. It's not hard to do it this way but it does take some time to get use to. That's how i currently use the Lucida App on my ipad.

      Icing consistency is definitely the tricky part to decorating cookies!
      The best thing I would recommend is to search for videos on RUclips where different decorators will show how to make the different consistencies.
