This film is simply beautiful. I came to explore Cortot on RUclips to see if it was worthwhile my processing & uploading a late acoustic version of the 'Childrens' Corner', and found this wonderful film. At one early point (when the teddy bear returns the child's kisses) I burst into tears; but a few minutes later I was laughing along with the 'Golliwogg'. Such is the power of music, and of Cortot, and of the film makers. Thank you very much, jozefsterkens2!

The world is sinking. All the junk has million of views, people, and this treasure, a link between the impressionism has less than 750. In general all classical music videos are undervalued.
@@alainspiteri502 we are talking about Debussy's Children's Corner not Schumann's Carnaval !! How can you know this is a false audio ? If you know Cortot's style, you should recognize his playing in this recording...
Maybe not on record, but this is certainly him and it is certainly him playing. Although the film doesn't show much close up of the keyboard, t is fairly obvious that his hands are moving correctly in conjunction with the music. Nevertheless, I will play along with you: whose joke are you assuming this is? L'Herbier's? For what reason? To fool the public that he was able to hire Cortot to pretend to be playing Children's Corner?

False vidéo , Alfred Cortot did not record Doctor Gradus ad Parnassum before 1940' remove this bad joke !
Is it simply a film that used cortot's audio recording?

I don't understand why you call it a bad joke, he had already recorded it in 1928
@@pianomasters3752 j agree Schumann-carnaval op-9 * 1928 " but before there are false audio

It's a calamity this movie in the middle of piano by Cortot , the worst video about a pianist 20Th century , remove this bad joke please thank's
Why ?
@pianomasters3752 MARCEL L Herbier était un cinéaste créatif, trop subtil encore aujourd'hui pour certains apparemment
