You share such beautiful things - I love it!! And you definitely intrigue me! Thank you for sharing something different from the run-of-the-mill flosstubes!
Loved your white work pieces. I do Freeform needle painting on painted canvases, I’ve watched most of your episodes and keep looking foreword to more. Thanks for the ideas.
Hi Arlene! Congratulations on your well-deserved ribbon for your gorgeous lace design! Here's some adjectives I thought of while watching for some future lace designs: Delicate, Intriguing, Intricate, Alluring, Heritage, Heirloom, Organic, Celestial, Bountiful. Maybe one of those will suit a future design😊. Thank you for another interesting talk about white work! You really are quite a fount of knowledge when it comes to all of these needlework techniques! I find it so informative and enjoyable! Hope the school year is off to a good start!
I love when you share different types of stitching. I especially loved the whitework presentation. I have a couple of the same books as they have intrigued me. I have yet to attempt to stitch anything from them but your video has motivated me to give them another look and perhaps choose something small to try. I'm not surprised your Exquisite Lace piece won first place! When I first saw it, I immediately went to your shop & bought the pattern! It is truly beautiful. Some other adjectives perhaps....floral, delicate, magnificent, majestic (I see this one as maybe an homage to Queen Elizabeth or something with royal emblems), luxurious.
Congrats on the ribbon!! I continue to love your needlework explorations! One comment about floche - I have to share an awesome find I had last year. I was in an antique mall and one of the vendor booths was essentially someone’s destash. I found a bag of hand-dyed floche…which I haven’t seen before or since. They’re beautiful.
Arlene! Greetings from Dallas! What a great flosstube! I found all the information on whitework to be really interesting. I had no idea there was such a range in technique. I was also intrigued with how much of it was regionalized. Congratulations on your First Place win with Exquisite Lace. It really is a stunning piece. Looking forward to your next video!
Thank you so much! I love sharing all these pieces, even as they stray away from a strict cross stitch world that is often Flosstube, and so appreciate people like you who are interested! 😊
Hi Arlene, what a fun video! Loved the bullion piece and the Carrickmac-something pieces! It was so interesting to hear about all the classes you took and the projects you have done! Thanks so much for sharing! Talk to you soon! Lori
Thanks so much, Lori - I truly do love sharing all this stuff, even as it wanders away from strictly cross stitch world, and so appreciate people like you who are interested! ❤
It's always lovely to see your library of books and past projects. The whitework is beautiful and it's fascinating to see the overlap between techniques too. Congratulations on your win, lovely idea to have the stitched riibons. My suggestions for the latest XYZ Lace would be Regal Lace (or maybe it should be Imperial Lace) for the purple fabric. Or Imperious Lace?
Congratulations on your big win! Well deserved. Thanks for the whitework review, I am excited to learn new skills as well. I had a wild thought that I could use Carrickmacross to make a miniature coverlet 1:12 scale for my mom's dollhouse. Lol, wish me luck! 😂
Your questions about “can it be called whitework?” totally made me think about the question of “is coffee bean soup?” 😂 For the lace name… I keep thinking something Royal with that purple… dignified? Noble? Stately? Dignified? 🤔
Hi Arlene! I didn't know there was a retreat here in Allentown, Pennsylvania! I live in the next town! Sounds like you had a great time! We have the Lehigh Valley Fiber Fest this weekend that I'm looking forward to. Our EGA will be participating in a "sit and stitch". Your design is beautiful. Congratulations! Whitework is certainly interesting. Have a wonderful week 🌷

Thank you so much! Good to know that there is some interest in "something different" 🙂
Such a great video. You always bring up new ways to stitch never knew all of it existed. It’s beautiful. Thank you for sharing
Thank you so much!

Thank you so much - we all learn so much from each other, don't we? 😊

ps Ayrshire - air sheer in English. Scottish accent may vary!
Thank you so much - for the kind words and for the name ideas!

Go for it! You never know until you give it a try 😊
Lavender and Old Lace. It’s one of my favorite books. Circa 1900.
Interesting idea - thanks!
“Violet’s Lace”…..kinda a play on words/color 🥰
Graceful lace, charming lace, loving lace, lovely lace, spectacular lace. Mazel Tov on your win.
Thanks so much - those are some good ideas!

Is coffee bean soup - never heard that one before! 😂 Thanks for the name suggestions!

Thank you so much! Grace Notes retreat is happening again next summer in the same place in case you're interested 🙂
Corrin invited me to her sit and stitch after I reached out to her ♡ And, I'm all signed up for next year's retreat 😊
How about Resplendent Lace
