Outro: Bach - Prelude No. 1 in C Major
Hello, I'm Rousseau, I make piano covers of classical and pop songs with a reactive visualizer. New videos every Monday and Thursday!
#Rousseau #Piano #PianoCover Видеоклипы
Bach. Prelude & Fugue No. 2. The first minor Prelude & Fugue from his Well-Tempered Clavier - written to show the possibilities of equal temperament (where you can play in tune no matter what key you play). Before this, music was often centered around each key, where if you were in tune in C major, you were out of tune in F# major (or vice versa) - this was a problem if you wanted to change keys. So to show how equal temperament solved this problem, Bach wrote two books of Preludes & Fugues, writing one for each of the 12 major and minor keys - probably not realizing that he had just written one of the most important musical works of all time. I hope you have a great Monday ♥

I really never understand how come anyone in the world can dislike a piano music video.. these are played by well experienced pianists.
I was just thinking that
Well don't worry about that now!! 😬
doesnt matter who they're being played by, if someone doesnt like anything they dislike it. thats the whole point of that system, to show that you dont like it. sad that they've removed it
The pianist playing the piece is irrelevant to your argument. Oftentimes people dislike because they themselves do not enjoy the music
@@aiai8967 but then why listen or even click on this video then? It’s obvious that it’s classical piano stuff, so why click it if you know you won’t like it?
The "Subscriber Special" riddle is now solved! Fuges are insane in difficulty, not because they’re fast or anything like that, but they require complete hand independence which is something very hard to achieve, I’m currently learning this piece, wish me luck
good luck!
*piece
All preludes by Bach are about intermediate-late intermediate levels but the fugues, oh god, late intermediate and advanced for sure, having to play so many voices at the same time is very hard and requires insane hand and finger independence
The C Major fugue is an actual fugue… C Minor one not so much of a chore. I wish you luck nonetheless. It’s a great piece, an essential, and teaches.
@@gaopinghu7332 why?

The prelude is hard simply because of the speed and articulation, the fugue is hard simply because there are three voices. I'm playing these pieces in an upcoming audition (hopefully)

One question. Do harpsichords from the 17th century support MIDI, if so, you should make a video like this ;)
@@loganm2924 Oh no I don't mean that. I'll use a harpsichord patch for my digital piano, like the one in my Prelude and Fugue #3 cover
Hello there! Love your videos
What I love about Bach, particularly here, is that he doesn't repeat stuff.
Just listen to anything mozart, let's say his 40th symphony, and you will see that everything is repeated at least once.
True, any theme or transition motifs he brings in are always developed differently or maybe even a key change but never repeated exactly the same, ofc there are exceptions sometimes
y que tiene de malo repetir lo bueno?
@@Trooman20 Right.
And that's why mozart is catchy af, bach not so much
That doesn’t mean anything
I am currently playing this piece!!
got any trouble with the fugue ? im like on the half of it and its pain haha literal pain actually i played too much ;3
Mosca Dei Lamberti I always find when playing this piece that my hands are cramped as hell. 😂
Me too
i finally finished this piece and i had so much trouble on 2:22-2:27 and 2:31-2:37. too many weird fingerings
It requires hand independency. Make sure to start slow so your fingers can develop the technique
Asian parents: Now play it backwards
That happens in Bach canons tho.
Definitely not the first time I saw this comment.
More like play it bachwards...
Jackob2003 it's pretty dead now
Start form the middle, what would you do?
Bach is no doubt the goat at harmony.
Tempest Sonata 3rd movement!! It would look amazing
yes! I am learning that one at the moment and it's really fun.
Yeah!
The elegance, and precision that you must play Bachs compositions with, makes his music like no other. My favorite composer, my appreciation cannot be expressed more. Fugue is my favorite part
I used to know this song by heart (the fugue, not the prelude). I heard it in a recording in college and it was played more like a mad man was at the keyboard. The energy was intense. I recall reading that when Bach was in the church practicing, people would walk by and see him thought the door with a glazed look in his eyes playing in a craze. I wish someone would post it playing in that head space. It does so much for it.
My favourite! I can't stop practising it.
You're playing it sooo wonderfully! Thanks for this great recording!
For y’all asking ,,,, Rousseau said that he’d be posting HR2 soon ! He’s still rendering it or smtg

Today is my birthday. After one and a half hour, it will be “was” and probably only a few of my close relatives will send their best wishes. I don’t expect anything from people, never expected till this time but when you get older, your expectations are changing. Today, no lies I’ve felt a bit lonely. But instead of expecting things from people, I’ve encouraged myself to love what I have and what I can have by myself. I love listening to piano music, I love reading, I love traveling, and let me tell you what they have in common; All of them you can do it by yourself. No matter what my new age will bring it to me, I will try to make my life worth living...
and thats it, you have matured.
You seems so passive aggressive about people not sending you happy birthday wishes dang, it’s just a birthday

Birthday wishes don't mean anything to me. If Person really wishes the beste for you know it without them telling on your birthday. People wishing you stuff, just because this is the way are meaningess
That's my favourite Fugue, it's great to see some Bach. He is to classical music what The Beatles were to pop/rock music. There's a bit of Bach in pretty much every great composer that followed him.

This is where it starts for those practicing
I have already played the Prelude but I never played it with this dexterity. It's incredible.
I never learned to read music with piano but my dad taught me the prelude part of this just with showing me the keys and a lot of patience, unfortunately I stopped playing for years and years but hearing this has reignited the love for piano! Gona go learn to read music!
It's amazing what you can do with just predominantly two octaves, even for the piano. Much of the prelude is that way.
You did an excellent job giving voice to the various polyphonic lines without sacrificing speed or dynamics!
I’m a beginner pianist, but i really like Bach as a lot of his work is based on repetition, with slight variations. It makes it easy to break down, and memorise (cant read music). I can actually play a lot of his stuff now, and people think I’m actually an experienced musician. I’m currently working on this, and Its just like many others, just faster. If you break any piece of music down, and play it slowly enough, you can learn anything, within reason. With my current skill level, as long as the music doesn’t require the hands to move great distances up and down the keyboard, in a short period of time, constantly making new shapes, I know I can learn the piece. BTW, I’m close to 50, so if i can do it, anyone can!😂👍😎
you should learn to read music
Very inspirational words kind sir, thanks for the motivation.
my reply is 2 years later but you should 100% learn to read music or else you're screwing yourself in the long run
good on you for learning at an older age though
Love this fugue so much!

Uma obra de arte!!
Thanks so much for this Rousseau, really big fan of this piece and you play it very well, I’m really going to enjoy listening this 1 million times! 😍
Very Nice! I only learned what a fugue was a little while ago, and once you pointed that portion out I was able to grasp the essence of this fugue a little more. Much appreciated!

I was just learning this peace. And when i had a break i opened RUclips and first video i saw was this. Such a coincidence

Fun fact: For anyone who loves Spring Awakening, the first two measures of this piece are used in the show. It is not on the cast Recording but in the show, it is during the segment on the song, “My Junk” where they ask the character to play “The Prelude in C minor” I always thought it was Duncan Sheik’s but i only found this out with old scores I found of the off Broadway score. Except apparently they did more than just the first two measures
Wahnsinn so gut zu spielen. Bin nicht oft begeistert...Aber das bringt mich fast zu weinen vor freude. Danke für die Arbeit. Nice work.
Can you do Liszt's Pastoralle or Il Penseroso please?
Welp, this ought to increase my patience until HR2 arrives😍😍😍
I just listen to this an hour ago and you uploaded the same piece. Beautiful. HR2 all the way!
The beginning of this prelude is what was used in Succession TV series "L to the OG" song btw
I've only just started to learn to play after falling in love with Bach's prelude in C major and wanting to play it myself, it looks a little daunting but doable whereas this...just well, it looks insane!
Me as well, I play piano because of Bach. Still learning prelude in C major thou. It's so hard to memorize
@@lynch8067 It did occur to me to maybe learn to read sheet music first and then I would not need to memorize a song but that is yet another rabbit hole of confusion.
@@Bhodisatvas Bach's Well Tempered Clavier isn't something meant for sight reading, if you can sight read this stuff, you've gotta have some serious skill.
Yeah the only beginner piece in his Well Tempered Clavier is that Prelude in C major. Every other piece is at least at an advanced level. Work on some other stuff for a while, and come back to the other Prelude and Fugues in due time and I’m sure you’ll be great. Oh and btw when I said “a while”, I meant at least 6-7 years lol, Piano is hard.
honestly this piece is fairly easy to intermediate. the only hard part is getting the timing
