The whole lack of a charger in the box thing really bugs me. It has absolutely nothing to do with the environment and all to do with these companies saving money and making more money from us by expecting us to pay for a charger. If you don't have a suitable charger you then need to order one, so that's more packaging coming in the post. Not to mention older people or anybody less techy may struggle to choose and buy the right charger, particularly if they're buying online.
While sure, it's still one extra package and you won't need to buy another one after you make your initial charger purchase. When looking back at my old chargers, I have way too many that have gone in the trash over the years.
@@ChrisTamayo I guess that'll be the case for some people but wouldn't it be better to offer people the choice of a charger? I've never found myself with too many or binned any so it would be good to have that option. 😊
It does lots for The environment, always hated these accessories, don’t need a 7th charger or cable within 10 years, and that’s just with 3 iPhones, 2 iPads, AirPods a stylus. Now that everything will have a usb c, we won’t need more than 2-3 cables in a decade.

@@Brian-jv8iy you forgot to add, in your opinion. See my point above about older and less techy people not knowing which type of charger to buy. Not to mention, you'd think since we aren't getting a charger, the phone would be a bit cheaper. Nope. I have no issue with them not including a charger in the box but to say the reason is to save the planet is utter nonsense in my opinion. It's all about profit and them saving money. Just like they removed SD card slots so everybody needs to pay for a phone with bigger storage. And they removed 3.5mm jacks so you need wireless earbuds or a converter. If you're buying a device which requires charging to work, it should come with everything needed to charge and use the device, imo.
Even if there is "minor" changes, I feel like you can still do alot on this phone and now we can see just how Samsung is really improving these flip phone. Very impressed!
I am so very tempted, ready to be able to fit my phone in my pocket again! Scared, though, about the crease cracking as I've heard of happening to others.
I've had this phone for like 6 months now and my crease never cracked. Even if it does you can buy a screen protector. That's what I did even though the crease didn't crack. The screen protector that comes with the phone is a dust / fingerprint magnet so I bought a matte anti glare screen protector.
I've used my flip 3 since last november. Up until july 2022 , my flip 3 automatically switch off whenever I close it. Turns out many user had this kind of experience.

I’m so excited to get this phone. I’ve been using an iPhone for as long as I can remember. This innovation has made me switch over. Hopefully not prematurely as I am worried about crease. A little protection plan & hopefully I’m safe. Thanks for this video.
Just finishing my 1st day with the Z Flip 4. I have been tempted since the very first Flip but held back, mostly due to battery concerns. Happy to say the battery draw (after 1 day) appears very similar to the S21 this phone is replacing. The small form factor in the pocket is outstanding. And as Tim says, that nice closing click to end a call or simply turn it off is very satisfying. I have the Caseology Parallax 3D case- looks very sharp and feels awesome in the hand. So far, so good. Will follow up if further strong impressions.

Love my flip3. Easy to put my pocket . At first i was kinda nervous since the reviews but after a year I still dont have any issues and can say i am very pleased with this..only thing.. I do need to charge after half a day of use so I hope they tackled that with the flip4
They did I have the flip 3 battery life is at a average of 5 hours the flip 4 has a average of 11 hours

This channel is probably one of best phone review channels ever. He never said anything BAD about the phone. I feel like every single phone review I watch, they always have a NEGATIVE review! i get that but on samsung site there was a ton of bad reviews on flip 3 about screen cracking in crease ect and i mean a lot of people were saying this so these people are just making it up to be a butt. or its true.and my out look if its true samsung should not come out with a flip 4 i still cant see how this screen can hold up by folding it without some point cracking. then on the flip side are these people using the phone like it was a tank closing to fast trying to one hand flip open. i think lot people dont handle it right and can cause issues. then they say samsung dont replace the screen without the extended coverage that is wrong
Ordered the bespoke edition yesterday! White bottom and a green top. I fought with it for a while but I'm really looking forward to trying it out! Changing from a Note 20 5G
Side note: ordering from the Samsung website, they gave $100 in credit with the pre order, so I was able to get the missing charging base as well as a wireless charger for no extra charge! Just so folks know there's that opportunity

I was watching a kdrama the other day and the main characters power went out while she was writing a report. Sis really pulled out a blue tooth keypad and started using her flip 3 as a laptop. I believe that attaching Bluetooth keypads are a feature most phones have, but the new flip 4 lets you use a cursor when it’s in mini laptop flex mode, and I saw somewhere that the bottom screen turns into a little touchpad like a laptop.

Trading in a Flip 3 to get $900 is still technically $185 for me since the $85 are taxes. The $100 credit you get from Samsung when you reserved it, you can only use that on accessories. Not on the Flip 4 itself. A Samsung customer rep explained it to me yesterday through a help chat.
It's a great deal. I suggest every techtuber who doesn't get attached to phones to do it. Every techtuber needs to be updated with the latest phones. You can't be stuck with last year's models. You can basically do this every year unless Samsung decides to offer less trade in the future. You may not even need to worry babying the phone knowing you'll trade it in after a year. It's similar to those iPhone forever plans.
What I find a little funny is if you trade in a Fold 3 which retailed for $1,800 to get a Flip 4, you get only $825 instead of the $900 from a Flip 3. So Samsung knows their target audience. You want the latest Flip, you need to come from the previous Flip. If you want to upgrade to the Fold 4, you'll get more from a Fold 3.
The Fold and Flip are really for two very different demographics. Fold is for power users. You pay top dollar, you better get the best specs and features. It's more of a work device. Flip is for casuals like me who like to carry light and doesn't need to be online all day or have the best cameras. It's more of a weekend fun phone.
I was ready to pull the trigger yesterday. But I kept looking at my Flip 3 without its case and kept thinking to myself that I'm going to miss it. Since I'm not a techtuber, I can be attached to it because I do not need to talk tech every day. My real reason wanting to get the Flip 4 was to get more storage. Then I realized I don't need that either. Most content can be streamed or in the cloud.
It was only 11 months ago where I would play NBA Street Vol. 2 and Mario Kart: Double Dash!! in my car and just having a blast. There's already this nostalgic factor I built with my Flip 3. My only real complaint of the Flip 3 is the small cover display. The Flip 4 never corrected it. 🤷🏻♂️ Since I'm trying to digital detox more, I could care less of battery life and cameras. Too much Internet ruins mental health.
The irony to all this is I really I don't use the Flip 3 as a phone. I only used it for 2 months as my main phone. My sim has been in my Razr 5G for most of the past year. If I upgraded to a Flip 4, it will be the same thing. I'm only using it as a multimedia device. That's why I didn't pull the trigger yesterday.
For people who is thinking of doing this trade, I suggest to do it if you're not as attached to the Flip 3 like I am. You will be on an endless loop with Samsung. But to pay less than $200 for the new one? Go for it! I don't like the glossy sides of the Flip 4. But Snap8+ Gen with Adreno 730 GPU + 3700 mAh + 256 GB (free upgrade) will make it an even better retro gaming emulation device.
I saw the official announcement of the Moto Razr 2022 and it's uglier than the previous Razrs, Flip 3, and 4 but it has the far bigger and useful cover display. We still don't know if it ever leaves China. I really wish Motorola was still owned by Google. It looks to me Flip 4 is your only option if you want the latest flagship foldable clamshell.
Get it for $185 by trading in that Flip 3. It will be more of the same experience like going from Fold 2 to 3 to 4 or S21 Ultra to S22 Ultra but at least you got the latest. Then do it all over again next year when trading in that Flip 4 for the 5.
I will call out Samsung for mailing it in this year. You can check videos of people saying S21 Ultra is better to them than S22 Ultra. Sometimes newer isn't always better. It's just newer. Fold 4 never got the S-Pen silo like the S22U and Flip 4 still has the 1.9" cover display. The 2021 models had more freshness to them than 2022's.
Fold 4 not having an S-Pen silo is like a Will Smith slap-to-the-face. If you're paying $1800 for a foldable, it better have all the features of the S22 Ultra and more. The newly announced Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 looks interesting. Very similar to the Vivo X Fold in size. Why does China get all the interesting foldables?
Still waiting on the Pixel Notepad which keeps delaying more than Top Gun: Maverick. I hear the size will be similar to the Oppo Find N. I like that. But I don't care for Tensor.

I just upgraded my flip 3 to the 5! I didnt have too many issues with the flip 3 except that after about 2 years I had dropped it less than an inch, it then wouldnt open all the way! Other than that no issues! I absolutely love the flip series
I'm never doing a fold or flip phone until they perfect it. The zombie fold 3 left a bitter taste in my mouth.

I have been using zflip3 for more than 6 months now. So far i have no problem with the phone. Nice and innovative phone. I hate to use 3rd party screen protector because it does not able to show the beauty of the amoled screen. Perhaps the only drawback i have while using zflip3 is the battery

About time a phone went back to the fold mode as they have been to large to comfortably carry about over recent years.
I was excited when the rumor had the Fold with internal storage of the S Pen, but unfortunately it wasn't true. Can't get excited about making a large phone even larger with a case to hold the pen. So my first foldable will be the Flip 4 and I am kind of excited about it. Hopefully, I won't be disappointed on August 26th.
I want this phone so much if only I could afford it 😂

Sure is worth the upgrade , more premium stronger materials, way better chipset which helps a lot for battery life and a bigger battery, improved cameras and not to mention if you pre order they are giving 900 bucks for your old device. So 100 bucks for a new device yes please.

Edit: so I just had a feel of it in store, and definitely not as nice in person. The screen ratio is way off, too tall, and the bend just feels cheap, as does the crease. I would say at least 2 years off from being on par quality wise with current phones

It seems like they did a better job on the Flip's crease than the Fold.

The crease issue normally happen if you dropped it from a considerable height. If it is a manufacturing defect , you can use your 1 year warranty.

I have received this phone for Christmas. It is a good phone, great phone even compared to my old Galaxy Note 9. It's faster, the crease barely shows (i've seen people complaining about it) and imo it's pretty light, the camera is the same in pretty much all Samsung phone, there's more customization and the battery is actually pretty decent.
Sure I'll probably need to charge once a day maybe. but it lasts a pretty long time(not even changing settings).
But, my only two problems. Are the "No charger in the box thing" and the fact they didn't really put much effort into the opening screen - I was half expecting it to say "Samsung Galaxy" with a big (depending on the color phone) 'Z' in the back. But, who am I to say? I didn't make the phone.
ive been very tempted to get one since my current phone is 3 years old and id like to upgrade at some point but im hesitant as ive only had apple products for so long so all my music and photos n such are on there.
I'm debating since I'm a construction worker ill always have dirt on my hands and I don't wanna damage the screen or anything

The outer screen kinda makes every color that's *_NOT_* the Graphite (that dark gray that looks like a knockoff of the usual Phantom Black) look pretty bad, though. Given that carriers have certain deals on it, I'll need to see if it'll be a good upgrade...yesss. (edit: so far, it ain't lookin' good at all!! 😒😒😒)

Only with voice otherwise it's just premade responses "ok" "see you there" etc

This is funny you present a flip phone and you almost not speak about the pros and cons of flip. I wonder if you have dust between the two screen and you flip it in a long terme if the phone will survive or not.

Why can’t they just add telephoto lens instead of ultra wide, since the main camera is already a wide lens .. telephoto is much more useful esp if a macro mode is built in

@@morganmarston not really trying to defend it the screen existing in the first place is already a bonus. There are many new ways introduced to improve it's usability even though it keeps the same form factor. If this is a big problem to you no one us making you buy it.

@@morganmarston Well I think the Snapdragon 8+ gen 1 deserves a mention since it's better than the S22 line and 2 generations ahead of the flip3. And no I would not recommend upgrading from a flip 3 but for someone buying into foldables then why would you get the 3 over the 4 when it has better battery, faster and more efficient processor, slightly better screen, better protected exterior matte glass, slightly better camera and probably more small improvements. At the same price and even better with preorder deals.

Well the plan with this one was to improve it and change minor discomforts but they are not following apple
It's a brand new category. They're slowly refining the design. It isn't even Dust Proof yet. Foldables are still early there's no rush or need for a big design change until there's a good reason for it.
Let's see how far they go....

@@ClaxtonBay123 compare zflip vs zflip 2 vs zflip 3.... the differences were massive, improvement-wise and specs. I would rather go 2 or 3 years even for a good leap instead of basically the same device. I'm willing to bet there will even be a 30-40% price increase.
@@morganmarston to be honest dude, since I got my zflip 3 I dont see me ever going back to a conventional smartphone you know? But yeah, I'm afraid if people allow it (which looks that they might) they can go all the way to Zflip 10 before we see (and effin pay!) For a real upgrade.
