WHAT A TEASER!! You didn't show what they ended up looking like.(??) I have an 88 reg cab 2.2 manual. Going with a 5.2 magnum and a 6spd Getrag to a ranger 8.8 lsd. And the frame is throwing me trying to figure out how "stock" v8 mounts will be situated. Because instead of 3-9 it might end up 4-9 (like clock hands) and the people who have done it either forget to take pictures or use front and or mid plates to mount to. And in forums or build threads, people just don't give correct, well lit, clear pictures for some reason..
That's because there is a part 2 - ruclips.net/video/fuY_qjrtlE4/видео.htmlsi=BVT9JMB1Smr7PbbO. Good luck with yours! I'll post another that may have some clearer pics.
Hey brother im about to start my LS swap for my 94 Dakota i have an 02 LM7 5.3 im gonna mate with a 2wd 4L80 and get this ball rolling for the swap. Any spec sheet or blueprints for the engine mounts? I’m sure this is the first of many questions i’m gonna have lol
I don't have any spec's other than how I describe to build them in this video. It should have enough info in it to get you what you need. Good luck on your swap!
Yo bro i know its been some time since this was posted but i was interested in buying a set or engine mounts to do this swap i have a 97 dodge Dakota would you sell a set or do you know where to buy any if not its okay i appreciate you showing the idea of making them will try that for sure
There used to be a guy that made them for 97 up gen II Dakota's, but unfortunately he no longer does. My process is geared towards the Gen I Dakotas (87-96) so I don't think it would work for the 97 up trucks. So the likely story is you'll have to have a set fabricated, as they're not available aftermarket.
Hell yea super excited to see this progress, would love to swap mine, I have a 99 lm7, and a 98 Dakota, but I want to retain mine being a 5speed as it's a drift truck in progress.
Hey buddy...I know this is old but I have an lm7 that needs new lifters. I have an 04 quad cab with the 4.7 and 9 1/4 rear. Piece of crap engine and transmission. Thinking of putting that ls on there with a 4l80. Have a gt45 turno that might find it's way in the equation too. So what about engine mounts? Would love to see what you did or if you're willing to sell some ...
Help...how did u do the fuel pump.i want to stick with the fuelpump I have in my daktao...the Ls has four plus another there connector for perrsure..plus the fuel tank that it was in is alot smaller but wider...I don't know what to do
Oh cool, man for pointers, just a couple. 1. do as much research as the internet will allow 2. If you have never done something like this before, get someone who has to help . Lasty, take your time, don't rush and have fun!
I took out the 4.7 an put a 5.9. it's not just the engine an tranny u r going to have to rewire the truck ..I got done with the truck a few days ago.now I'm going to take out the 5.9 an install a 5.3 vortex....o if u can get a donor truck that would help
The frame are the same. May be a little different on what you have to do with the cooling system but overall it should be the same. You will need to grab 91 and up V6/V8 frame mounts for the motor however
@@RacerXGarage im finally get close to putting the motor in but I cannot find these frame mounts anywhere online..idk if I am searching for the wrong thing or what, do you have a part number or maybe what I need to search to be able to find them? thanks in advance!
Oh man, this truck has a ton of history. It was originally a 2.5 4cyl , then had a LA 318 in it before an engine fire took it out of commission for 15 years. This whole build including video prior to this is on our channel. Check out the "Drag Week Dakota" playlist.
Why didn't you just go with a 318 magnum? Why an LS engine in a MOPAR?! A 318 and a 727 torque flite would have been awesome. I guess that makes me guilty for wanting to put a 360 in an S10.
Haha don't feel guilty, throw that 360 in! When I was 17, I did actually swap in a LA 318 and 727 and bombed around in that for a while. It was fun, sounded good, but it was still slow. To answer your question the simplest, 1. I had one that I essentially for for free. (And transmission) 2. HP per dollar is exponentially cheaper for the LS platform. Skip ahead a bit if you want to see what it ran the first time out, and it's fastest pass to date. (Which was 3 seconds faster than the 318/727 combo.

The GEN II's such as yours are not the same unfortunately. You'd have to fab up a set yourself
Dope build! Would you ever think about selling a set of those mounts?
Not at the moment, I may flirt with the idea in the future if i can find a place to cut them. But not now unfortunately
I want to LS SWAP my 2004 ram that has a 3.7 v6 junk in it. Need a swap kit
oh man, you're on your own on that one! I don't know what they have for full size trucks
I got a 1996 dodge dakota club cab I am trying to get my body perfect and the paint it but I want to put a v8 In it with 400 or 500hp
I would like to put a hellcat but I don't got that money
Hellcat is big money for sure! But a 400 would be a good time too

I started my project last year with a 92 Dakota ext cab. I'm putting in a 80's sbc but the mounts put me at a halt.
well stick with it, it will all work out! Good luck with you project!
Will u sell 2 piece of steel doing a 90 Dodge Ram d150 and I gotta do the same thing
Man, I dont produce these unfortunately but there easy enough to make
hey I got an '03 Dakota SLT and I'm looking to do the same. I really have no experience swapping engines though. any pointers?

Just bought my uncles 90 dak gonna be doing an ls expect to see my name popping up with questions
Awesome! It's such a great platform for it. Good luck!
Would you sell a set of the plates already made lol
Sorry, I dont have the ability to mass produce these, but I hoped I put enough info in for you to make them yourself. Good luck
