Hey guys, it's Charlotte here, and today we're talking about spoiled rich kids getting hit with the real world.
We all know those kids who seem to have everything handed to them on a silver platter - designer clothes, exotic vacations, and the latest gadgets. But what happens when they're forced to face the challenges of the real world?
In this video, we're going to take a look at some real-life examples of spoiled rich kids who had a reality check. From trust fund babies who had to start working for a living, to entitled teens who learned the hard way that money can't buy everything.
We'll also explore the psychological effects of growing up privileged, and how it can hinder one's ability to cope with adversity.
So if you're ready to see some spoiled brats get a dose of reality, hit that play button and let's dive in. Don't forget to leave a comment below and let me know what you think about the topic. Thanks for watching!

I don't believe that one... seriously! Look at the size and proximity of the houses in their neighborhood. You think ANY of them are driving a tesla 😂 let alone buying one for a 16yr old? The inside of their house is not one of a millionaire either (not that you HAVE to be one to buy one) but all those things added up don't equal legit story!

I saw a video of a father giving his daughter a used car. She came out to the parking lot of her job and was happy and jumping up and down saying “I love it, it’s so ugly I love it”. Her dad told her he was sorry but she kept laughing and was just so thankful and excited.
You could see the love between father and daughter was so strong by and he had raised a wonderful person.

My first car was a Ford Pinto. My dad helped me keep it working and I paid for it by my job. Handouts should not be given to entitled children. If they don't like it. Take it back, get your money back. Put it away or show them you handing it to people in need. To give in to the entitlement is the only thing that is going to keep building (entitled, snotty karens).

I have one biological daughter and she has always been precocious. She has also always been remarkably easy to raise.
Her tantrum stage was delayed, though. Around five she decided on a tantrum test drive.
When we were both calm again, we sat down to talk. I explained that this was not the way people get what they want and as a reminder, in future if she threw a tantrum, not ONLY would she not get whatever the tantrum was about, she wouldn’t get the NEXT thing she asked for, either.
About a week and two tantrums later she crawled up on my lap and said conversationally, “This tantrum thing isn’t working for me.”
    Bingo!

Yep grew up like this as well. We aren’t by any means rich, not even upper middle class. But my parents still tried hard to get me and my sister what we wanted. My mom had a little system in place to help us learn patience so we didn’t expect to have it at our feet as soon as we asked. It’s been nice growing up like that for sure, and my sister and I are very well-rounded hardworking people. The mindset that follows after being spoiled is the difference between a spoiled kid and an entitled kid.

Getting kids expensive cars and worse high powered sports car when they're an inexperienced driver is dangerous not only for the kid but for the other drivers on the road - just so the parents can have 'brownie' points is stupid as hell. The first car is the one they learn how to take care of, what to do if the car breaks down - gets a flat etc.

For my youngest daughter’s ’Sweet Sixteen’, she asked that three or four girls be allowed to spend the night, and that we provide 3 cans of silly string for each of them. She then went door to door in our cul-de-sac and got permission to run in their yards for a silly string fight as long as they picked up the silly string. We shopped for snacks. Cul-de-sac was clear of silly string next morning, and the girls had a blast.

You do it all the time." My grandfather got the same look of realization he got when I told him that pinching and poking his grandchildren with sacking needles was not acting his age, and he stopped doing those things. You’ve got your own pocket money wich you are allowed to spend on what ever you want or you go and put it on your birthday/Christmas wish list and we will see if you get it!
But NEVER ever would I buy stuff randomly and just because, not small and not big things! If they really want it they can pay for it with their money (a little weekly allowance given to them) that’s how you teach them how to be responsible and how to take care of their own money.
They will learn to manage their own money and will ask themselves "do I really want this?" Because it’s always easier to spend someone else’s money than yours!
Just buying your child every little thing as soon as they see it? They will think money grows in trees and they are a special little princess that gets everything they ask for "just because".
And that’s not how it goes… you have to work for what you’ve got in this world.
Doesn’t mean you shouldn’t spoil your kid every once in a while and maybe indulge them in a small treat from the store etc… but it is meant to be a small and a rare occasion not an every week thing! That’s how you get a spoiled brat that is ungrateful af.

What a sweet gift! I bet it runs well too. I would love to have a van. I live on 20 acres in a very rural area with goats, chickens, and other animals, so a van would be ideal for hauling feed bags and some new baby goats
I was 22 when my dad gave me his old car in 1983. It was a 1970 4-door Oldsmobile land yacht with a few dents and no AC. It was beige. Even my grandmother said it was boring!
It ran great because dad was a stickler about maintenance. In fact, while I was a teenager he would ask me to "help" him with repairs such as replacing brakes (I helped by bleeding the brakes while he described the process of changing brake pads and getting rotors turned instead of replacing them). He showed me the radiator cooling system and taught me how to put a hose clamp on a cracked hose to stop a leak, taught me which fluids go where and how to check correctly and often, and the proper names and locations for various parts. I'm so grateful for that now because I can describe car problems to a mechanic without sounding like a complete idiot.
As a teen I wasn't interested in owning a car because I was scared of all the things that can go wrong. I figured I'd only work at jobs that were close enough to ride my bicycle to. However, those weekends hanging out with dad and talking about life are some of my most treasured memories. I learned much more than vehicle maintenance.
When I was 22 I applied for a tech job that I didn't feel qualified for, and to my shock, I was hired! It was 12 miles away so I wasn't looking forward to riding my bike that far but it's good exercise and I'd be stupid not to take the job!
Mom and Dad congratulated me and said they wanted to take me out to dinner downtown to celebrate, but he's not sure if there's enough gas in the tank so would I mind driving it to the station down the street to fill it up while they got ready? Um, okay, strange request, especially since we usually took Mom's car because it was nicer but sure...
I came back, told them the car had more than half a tank already but I filled it the rest of the way, and here's your keys back, Dad.
Dad said, "Those aren't MY keys! They're yours!"
I looked out at that beat-up Oldsmobile hoopty in the driveway that was as stylish as a bowl of plain oatmeal and burst into the "ugly cry" of joy. I've never felt more loved in my life! At that moment it dawned on me that Dad spent all those weekends teaching me so that by the time I was ready for a car I'd feel more confident in my abilities. He also wanted me to have the safest car possible and I didn't care that it was "uncool" to my friends. They changed their minds when they realized it could carry 7 people comfortably. I wouldn't have traded it for a Mercedes!

So many little details of their lives would have been much better if their parents had been patient and said no and taught them good habits :(

U were blessed to get disciplined by ur grandmother. I'm the oldest of 2 sisters. And both my younger sisters were spoiled. Even today they are adults living free off of my parents and not working. 28 and 30. I'm 32. I had to work for everything i had. And even then I got nothing really because my parents were toxic narcissist and were abusive to me on top of neglect. (Seriously I was in a cinderella life until i moved out) Needless to say however, despite all that, taught me to be humble and appreciate everything I got and earned. My sisters have no idea what the real world is like and have no people skills.

I have a niece who would throw fits when she didn't get her way. Her parents always gave in and let her do what she wanted. One time, we were playing her Wii game on my projector. She decided none of the rest of us could play because it was her game, so she didn't have to share. So I walked over and turned off the projector and said, this is my projector and I don't want to share it. That was the end of that.

And only when he was super well behaved, did great in school etc. They were rewards. And he loved them and played. When my husband lost contracts I'd tell our son "time to reign in spending right now until Dad gets another contract". And now he's paying his way through college and will finish debt free.

    Re: your question about games
I’m a mum and we are just entering an age when we can start to play some card and board games. I do the mix of both: when it’s late in a day and I can see that my kid is starting to get tired, I don’t push it and make sure he wins, but if we play on the weekends, morning or mid-day I play fair as he is usually very good (esp. If game is based on good memory or reflex) and he learns how to handle it. It’s a great proccess too as you actually witness your kids growth:experiencing emotions, learning to handle them and finally choosing that a great time together is what he actually craves anyway. Also if you always wins and hv easy wins you dont really get the satisfaction and the game itself gets less interesting.

@monicaavendano5553 as an autistic person I can tell you I never behaved that way. My meltdowns went inward and I didn't have a phone to act this way over.
The thing that comes closest was maybe forgetting my Teddy in vacation and my parents went back to pick it up. The people we were travelling with didn't get it but I was calm and greatful after. I also still have the Teddy.
Granted, I mostly couldn't have outward meltdowns because it wasn't safe, but even now the go inward. Which is apparently more common in women and girls.

I worked and made the payments on the car ($86/month). My parents paid the insurance and gave me a gas allowance each week for school. I was so happy I remember jumping up and down with joy. I would NEVER have said, "I didn't want..." NO NO NO Mom, don't give in to her tantrum. If Mom did/does swap the car, well, we know where the 16-year-old learned her entitled behavior.
I wouldn't shoot the PlayStation. I'd keep it for myself and make my child watch ME play his PlayStation. When my kids were little, I'd let them win maybe 1 time out of 10 times. Most of the time I didn't have to let them win - they won all on their own

The hardest thing in the world for a parent to learn is saying no! I've cried downstairs while my sons were crying upstairs but the answer remained the same. Yes, I'm bragging, I have three wonderful grown up sons who would give the shirt off their backs to help someone in need. They treat everyone with respect and are absolute gentleman. I can honestly say that tantrums ended pretty quickly in my house. I'd tell them to have at it and let me know when they were done lol. Even outside, if my 2/3 yr old was having a tantrum on the floor, I would just stand by them and tell people, don't mind us, we're just having a learning moment. Once they figure out that screaming doesn't work, they give up, but you give in? well, that's the rest of their childhood spent screaming lol

The thing I hated most about that job is that the parents always gave in to the kids eventually, so they would try to wear my down after I had said no multiple times. The worst part was when the parents came home, they said no as well, but then always ended up saying yes. The next babysitting job I took, I made sure that my parenting views aligned with my client's parenting views!

I used to dress my kids in overalls a lot in winter and once when my then 3 yr old daughter threw a tantrum in a store and threw herself to the floor, I just used the straps on the back of the overalls like handles and picked her up like a handbag, left my trolley where it was and started walking out of the shop. She was so surprised she instantly shut up and asked where we were going. I said we were going home because I didn't want to be seen with such a badly behaved child which was sad because usually you are so good at the shops. She then started to beg me to put her down so we could go back and she promised she she would behave.
I only had to do it once... and we did go home. My kids know that when I say something like NO... I mean it.

I am pretty sure that I got nothing for my 16th birthday. In fact, for most of my birthdays I considered myself lucky to get a birthday cake and sometimes a card. Even those stopped by the age of 12 or 13. As a young adult my parents would take my Mom, sister and I out for a “shared birthday dinner” as all of our birthdays are in the same month - usually on my sister’s birthday as it was first up. My birthday was 2 days after my Mom’s birthday, which my Dad always remembered and asked me to pick up a gift for her. But by the time my birthday rolled around (literally 2 days later - every year!) it was often forgotten because “we already celebrated this month”. So no cake, no card, no Happy Birthday wishes - nothing.
I learned early that my life events were not a priority for my family. Lesson learned and not forgotten!

    • @skwervin1
      @skwervin1 8 месяцев назад +29

You let them win but sometimes you have to let them lose so they can learn HOW to lose like a winner. Being a bad sport was just not allowed in my parents home. If you lost, you lost with a smile, you shook hands or gave a hug or whatever, no throwing down cards and stomping away. You might toss them down with an "aw...damn! You beat me!" But it would be with good humour. I grew up playing cards with adults (euchre, 500, canasta, poker, blackjack, cribbage etc) snooker, pool, billiards etc and if you wanted to be allowed to play you had to act like a grown up and not throw a hissy fit if you lost OR prance around if you won.
I was once playing poker with a guy who plays regularly for money and I kept cleaning him out. I was out bluffing him and even when he did beat me, I lost with a smile and it just threw him off his game. The last hand I actually had a superb hand and went all in, he thought I was bluffing and I won the lot and he was almost in tears. Losing with a smile is a great way to out psyche your opponent as well as being a good way of living your life.

I would have cried tears of gratitude if my parents got me a car, and if I would have seen the cash, I'd be sobbing 😮

Oh please! If my parents would have given me a car on my 16th birthday, I would have suspected dad of robbing a bank.

My sweet 16 was 36 inch Poulan chainsaw so that I could work better BY MYSELF! when cutting down trees for firewood cause Dad could not stand the smell of propane from the gas heater. It made it hard for him to breath and we couldn't afford to have it fixed. So it was wood heater or freeze.

I’m completely appalled by the sweet 16 gift situation.. that was a real slap in the face for the mom!! She’s definitely raising a narcissist and it’s disgusting to see!! 🤬💔

I felt bad for the mum right untill the end of that clip where she says ‘ I guess I’ll take back the car and see if I can find her a pink Mercedes ‘ excuse me what?? You see your child is so spoiled and ungrateful to the point of ridiculousness , and your answer is to reward her and give her what she wants? That mum is creating a monster. I have no sympathy

I'm a former child abuse investigator. I am a huge advocate for children's rights. I would have called children and family services that day and told them to come and get my daughter. To quote Charlotte "ABSOLUTELY NOT!"

Maybe she should put the phone away! And focus on mothering!

I work in an emergency room and I witnessed a tantrum identical to that "I want my phone" one a couple weeks ago from a full grown adult.

I have grown daughters and I can diagnose the problem here...these brats weren't disciplined as children

I love it when Charlotte throws her head back, with one hand in the air, in a slicing tomato action, while saying out loud; “how are you not embarrassed!” It makes me laugh out loud every darn time. The added echo affects are perfect for it!😂😂😂 thank you!

6:44 when Charlotte mentioned she is corrupting our minds and gave that giggle, I was thinking "no babes, it is a mental cleanse, you are cleansing mind body and souls" with hilarity.

My first car was a 1991 oldsmobile Toronado that previously sat in a barn for seven years after being driven by my grandparenta and parents. I loved that boat of a car

8:07 As a Mom. We let 'em win. But when they get cocky with it, that's when you gotta show 'em who's boss 😂
