Even though this film is a sequel, it feels more like a "What If" and to be honest I'm good with that, bc as a HUGE Kano fan it was really good to see him be treated like a threat and not to mention, had some of the coolest fights where he was actually giving everyone a hard time. He may not be as disciplined as other fighters but he's Cunning, Brutal & Dangerous and I think this film did him justice!
You watch Mortal Kombat Legacy? Darren Shahlavi (Twister from Ip Man 2) plays Kano, pretty damn good villain in that series, and u get to see the origin of his red eye.

Don't know how you felt about the 2021 Film, but Josh Lawson's Kano stole that movie, shame they killed him off. It always cracks me up that they kill the guy who has always managed to survive. Might thought to be dead but always comes back to be that thirn in the Heroes side. A real simple fix to that for the MK sequel is to have him actually survive his encounter with Sonya and he shows up at the Tournament to Sonya & everyone's surprise. Also have him have his Cybernetic Eye Shield looking more like we know him to be!
I can highly wait to see this movie because I love Sub zero he's really awesome and badass and is personally my favorite MK character growing up.

I think Mortal Kombat adding Kronika, multiverses, and time travel was the best thing they added to the story. With every game having different endings and different possibilities based on who wins the tournament every mortal kombat story can be considered canon as it could have been Kronika exploring the different results. So it gives the creators freedom to create stuff like this. This story isn't how things played out in the games however it still feels like it's in character for everyone while being a different take on the story. I'm all for it.
The problem is, Time Travel is usually a cop out unless you implement it correctly with consequences that have severe side effects.
@@johnlucas2838 And mk11 time travel was exactly that, their story got so convoluted and backed into a corner they had to retcon nearly everything and start fresh.

I was worried at first when they talked about time travel entering the Mortal Kombat setting, because of the reasons the other commenter made here, but I'm satisfied with what they did. Yes I believe some were a cop out. Like how Hanzo Hasashi died but old vengeful Scorpion stepped in to replace him. I believe so people could have original tormented Scorpion back, but still. Retconning Sindel to a "she was evil the whole time" personality kinda sucked too since her good nature was the source of so much. But making it so Quan Chi murdered her, instead of her killing herself to protect the realms, should have been a warning since it erased her noblest deed. Lastly, the sudden introduction of social justice to the setting was jarring and very forced. Overall though I was entertained by it, cause there was A LOT of cool stuff, and it was a fitting sequel to what began with MK9 and continued with MKX.
Isn't Kronika contradictory to The Multiverse
As her resetting the Time Line means that all Mortal Kombat Games are the same singular Time Line that gets reset'ted over & over again(?)
Also not all ending are canon as there can be only 1 Ending where Kronica is defeated and the Ending where Character X become The One Being would be (arguably) near-impossible to be reset'ted (specially under the limitations shown in MK11)
The funny thing is, since the Hourglass perfectly exists without Kronika's existence as seen in most endings. That would mean that the Hourglass existed before Kronika ever did, which would be how Kronika came into power. And that makes me think it's part of the One Being. It's still a cop out though.

This gives me Old Man Logen vibes the Wastelands,the fact that he won't pop his Claws, the Hulk and his family running wild. Lol Sub-Zero has always been my favorite MK character so I Love it.

If this is actual a sequel, then its real depressing because it basically means that all the other earth realm defenders have died. I also don't get why subzero had to go to the hell realm. You would think they would actually do something with that hourglass and go back in time.

Yea when they didn't use the hourglass, it just made me hate the ending. Could have literally saved billions of people including their friends.
He went to the Hell realm because swore an oath/made a deal to never use his powers again. He mentions at the end that if no one were to keep him in check then “he will” and points to Scorpion. Im guessing the deal was that if he ever used his powers again then Scorpion would stop him. He broke that deal to save the day. Its weird that they didn’t give an explanation and had him just leave but that’s my best guess.

I think Mortal Kombat: Snowblind takes places in an alternate timeline where Kano betrays Kronika and took her giant hourglass and enter alternate realities.
This movie is better than the second one, but at the same level, if not higher, than the first one. I hope that we can get more new cool stories about MK like this in the future. Like, i would love to see Raiden's origin story, or any of the characters origin stories, except those that we already saw.
raidens story is gonna be killer, the likes of shoa Khan, fujin, shangtsung would have to be included...

Sub is one of the most powerful MK characters. Once he gets the Dragon Medallion he gets more powerful, in the mkx comics he gets one kamidogu and amps him to the point where he freezes a damn city 😳 Kuai Liang is awesome and imo the better Sub-Zero.
He's definitely the better Sub. He actually has a conscience which gives him actual character. He also was able to reach greater heights in power than Bi-Han in life(which Bi-Han even commended him for in his Mortal Kombat Deception ending)

Mk2 unmasked he's Chinese but MK 3 looks white lol 😆 in MK 11 he looked mixed to me half white half Chinese not quite fully one or the other but I know what you mean. They changed Mileena and Kitana from white latina looking looking to full out Asian in MK 11 too. In the 2021 movie they made Mileena black.
@@MKF30 Yeah, it's all woke now. I have no issue with Chinese people, but I find it weird and out of place that while Scorpion is clearly japanese(Hanzo Hasashi), Sub-Zero is chinese. It does not make sense. They either should have kept both of them white like in the old times, or make them both japanese, but from different clans. The overall writing of the stories in Mortal Kombat however is not too bad.
Old Man Sub-Zero (Snow Blind) is an awesome chronicle story.
I will always be eternally grateful that they include KOBRA and KIRA in this great movie and give them a very good participation, action, fights and attention, since for me KOBRA and KIRA are excellent characters with a lot of potential and history to exploit, develop and work on. I liked the redesign of Kobra in the style of heavy metal singer and rudest biker and the redesign of Kira in the style of punk girl and Celtic warrior was the best I've seen ... It's a shame that Jarek, Dairou and Drahmin had such bad luck but I appreciate the would include
They should bring back a lot of those deception characters and give them a better spotlight.
An excellent animation! Kenshi was an interesting character and this does him justice. Kano makes for a great villain in this world and we get some pretty good appearances from lesser characters too. The cherry on top is Sub-Zero, he just makes everything better. As he's my favorite character seeing him taking up the mantle again was a superb feeling. If you love MK this is quite a ride, one you shouldn't miss no matter.
Dude I love this movie, especially the added wasteland-all hope is lost feel to it. I especially got Chills when Shang sung revealed his full name to kenshi and when sub zero called scorpion to his burning house 🔥 ❤️💪

Yep, villains like Kano who finally achieve everything end up getting bored because there's no challenge anymore & I'm like "Why not just off yourself then because despite getting what you want there's always going to be a group of people who will rebel against you anyway same old story."
I knew something was off about the movie when I first saw it. The New Symbol of the Black Dragons was an indication of it being something new that the series has never delved into. Then the Twist came in, a What if scenario when Kano won MK11's Tower Challenge. It really impressed me, because I thought it would just retelling old lore we already knew about, just in a New Perspective. But damn was I wrong. I really thought they were gonna adapt the post MK 9 timeline.

I think mortal Kombat should break off from traditional tournament story's more often. It's a breath of fresh air. Giving more room to be creative with story arks and character development.
Loved the film! Not saying its one of the best animated films of all time, but for an MK flick I'd say it's a good watch. Them exploring a different take on the characters we know and love is refreshing.

This movie is clearly a multiverse "What if" scenario. The instant the movie began and explained that the Earth was a wasteland I knew time travel was involved.
I loved this movie. I appreciate the different take on the story. Sub-Zero and Kenshi were bad @zz, Kano and Tremor were a PROBLEM and I don't I think I've seen a cooler version of Scorpion. 9 out of 10
What I also liked about the Mortal Kombat legends animation movies is that they actually get wounded after being hit. You watch the other Batman and Superman DC movies, which are good by the way……… but they never sell being hit. You can have super man punch someone through a brick wall and they’ll just get right up like the undertaker and totally no sell the move.
I can’t wait to pick this up on blu ray.

I can honestly say all three of the animated mortal kombat movies are insanely badass. I’m loving American animation. Also The dead space and Castlevania animations are insanely badass. America is giving Japan some competition.

I find highly dubious that Shang TSung would bow in anyway to Kano. So my verdict is this a once off story. Not a direct sequel.
The fight were awesome. I’ve never seen a more violent martial arts franchise than mortal combat. I hope they make another animated movie. I enjoyed it so much.
They literally show part of the ending for Kano in this movie basically saying he won against kronika which I think is really cool
One thing I’ve noticed is that this incarnation of Kuai Liang (at least from this movie) is similar to NRS Jax, as they both retired from fighting after a horrific incident.
I’ve also peeped that this Kuai Liang never had to deal with neither Bi-Han/Noob Saibot or Frost.

I didn’t expect this to be intriguing until you gave details but in a lot of sense the titans across the universes have in a sense dethroned the elder gods. For all we know this is one of Kronikas recordings of that history in which she gave Kano a chance. But then from mk11…. There’s a paradox since if all endings are canon, wouldn’t that mean that she too cannot be truly killed? And if so, is she only allowing fire god Liu kang to hold only of if not many just a sliver of reality in which he controls time in said space. Wonder if other titans will appear to challenge the fire gods rule.

It seems like every old man story is similar with minor differences. Old man Logan killed all of his team and then vowed to never use his claws again. Although in that story he was tricked into doing so.
SHANG TSUNG is the best supervillain in the universe but Kano is the most brutal, sadistic villain and he is also the rudest man in the universe... In short, science and technology beat magic and mysticism

I need a PS5 to watch it but this has peaked my interest and they could follow this up with some more movies or with an animated tv series which might be better. In the next show we could see Ashura show up and aid Kenshi with protecting earthrealm and teaching others how to fight since her character is about redemption from being a demon and hopfully we will see brand new faces that show up in the game and I would really like to see old versions of Smoke, Reptile, Cyrax become just as powerful or more as this Logan version of sub zero. Lastly I think this was ment to be an example of what would happen if someone did win MK11 now they should work on multiverses instead of timetravel.

…I think this is canon. It’s basically another timeline like from what Titan Lui Kang found out towards the end of the game. We didn’t see Titan Kano so we can assume he’s dead because Titan Kano died by Sub Zero in the movie.
