I have the Titan and they are great for the 1 time a year I need them.
If you pull nails, you will use them often.
@@paulsawczyc5019 I use pliers made for pulling to pull nails, not cutters.
The titan are great for tire repair when you need to pull something out of a tire. We use them and leave them on the tire machine all the time.
Can't beat the price of the Titan's for what you're getting. I think if it's tool used very infrequently, they'll probably be great. For me, comfort of use often dictates my decision in hand tools because I am older and have injuries. To that end, I like Snap-on grips the best. They are a great compromise between over-molded comfort and standard dipped handles. And I like that minor 'tacky' feel they have for better grip stability. Just my opinion and preference. So I prefer to wait a little longer, save up some extra $$ and go with Snap. And they do eventually break-in and become silky smooth. But sure, Knipex are generally smoother right from the get go.
I've noticed for the last few years Titan really does have some gems out there.

I have a handful of Titan stuff. Mostly like is saying that are oddball or things I wouldn’t use much but they have all held up well and certainly worth the money in my opinion.

The Snap On is sleeker which can make a difference in tight areas. And it looks like the cutting edge of the Snap On is hardened, it would be interesting to see a hardness comparison between the two.
The Snap On edge is hardened. I always bought cheaper cutters and cotter pins destroyed the edges after a couple months each. I bought these and they still look and feel new more than a year later.
Coworkers have the snap on ones .I had the Stanley fatmax cutters. they cut where snap on dint untill I lost them I picked up the titans
I have a couple of pairs of Titan multi-purpose shears. They were very cheap from eBay, and they have held up fine.
I try to use Klein dykes when I can find them. I have never bought a thing from Snap On, but I know their tools are pricey. I have a big and a little pair of Klein dykes - had them for years. I have cut just about everything with them, nails, rope, electrical wire, etc. like any cutting tool they have gotten a little dull over the years but for 50 odd years they have served me well.
The long Snap-On's are great for safety wiring.

The Mac version of these is literally the same as that Titan. While pretty shitty and well, cheap. These are EXCELLENT for removing and janking out cotter pins. Use them all the time
as an aviation mech, the only time ive ever needed anything like this is to cut rigid tubing in tight access panels that i cant fit an actual tube cutter into. maybe 3 or 4 times a year. I bought an $8 pair of Pittsburghs from harbor freight, and for my personal experience, the HF works just as well as snap-on. and for less than a tenth of the cost, and how little i have to use them, i couldnt possibly hold the $8 pittsburghs in any higher regard
I'm starting as an airframe apprentice and my team lead who is a budget tool if possible guy and said used or new get the long reach cutters from snap on as you'll use them on the crew more than anything
I have both and I use the Titans the majority of the time. The Snap on’s have a much sharper cutter.
The Titan looks exactly like the Sunex, since Titan and Sunex don't actually produce their own tools, it's just laser engraved by the manufacturer for them? Still would go with the Snap On's, or a German made equivalent? I'd love to see what you think of the specific Proto insulated pliers and screwdrivers I own, and have owned for almost 20 years? I personally think they are some of the best made pliers and screwdrivers ever produced, and I own a ton of tools and brands in my 30 plus years of turning wrenches? Thanks for the great real reviews. If you want to search for the German made Proto tools, it's really easy, since they are bright orange, with black painted steel?

Man talk about stiff pliers. When i was getting my 7 inch slip joint talon grips today i was feeling all the pliers he had out and they were ALL VERY stiff, coming from all my knipex stuff i was surprised how they felt. Feels heavy duty but not as smooth as the knipex joints. Love my talon grips though
I have a question, this video has been making me think. Why would you even want a diagonal cutter or linesman that are NOT high leverage ? I must have just bought 60 or so over last year and I blame you mostly for my new tool obsession.
My Snap on Dealer sold me those in HiViz for $65
I got some HiViz needle nose pliers for a third off from my SO dealer. Seems the HV color is hit or miss, mostly miss from what I hear. Gets dirty easily and stays dirty longer. No joy in that.
The Titan is a twin to my Tekton.
I try to keep my money in USA. If i can afford it I’ll buy USA made tools.
I don't mind send some over to Japan and Germany, vessel, koken, nepros, wera and knipex are my non American picks. But I do love some snap on
American corporations love suckers who think that way

Hello George. Thanks for watching. I don’t know about the cutting prowess on that wire and cotter keys. However it seems many viewers have these same cutters so hopefully someone can jump in with an answer.
I have Proto cutters , that look exactly the same as the titan ..
All snap on plier jaw steel is treated too hard thus causing it to be too brittle. When a pointed plier is dropped the chances of chipping the tip is very high. Had to do warranty on one already.
Williams have this type of pliers for less than half the price of Snap On, and probably the same quality.
Proto makes a usa made version of this. They also have a china one so make sure you get the right one.
If I buy snap on I always think about what I'll get back in return when I don't need him anymore or I decide to sell them... My point is I don't just buy the snap on tool because I need it. I'll pay the extra money because I'll get at least fifty percent of it back later
I can't remember if I've ever sold a tool. Given some away because I didn't think I needed it. Usually had to buy the tool again next time when I needed it. I figure my tools will be part of my estate, and I'll no longer care.
To me it's, Do you support Chinese jobs and even taiwanese jobs or American jobs. And I mean top to bottom steel production, manufacturing, distribution, sales and service and not just minimum wage jobs stocking shelves at harbor freight and auto zone.
I agree, but only if I know it’s a tool I will use frequently I will choose the better quality of USA made tool. If it’s a tool I will use every other month or I just need to run to the store to grab it for one job I might choose the cheaper Taiwanese tool to save money for other tools. If I end up using it more often I go and get that more expensive USA tool.

@@iTzzJoSuEsorry I shouldn't say what it is or isn't for you, I don't know your life or motivations. It's an expensive commitment to buy American at all times where possible, and I'm not perfect or get it right every single time but it has to be at the forefront of your mind for every buying decision.
Taiwan isn't China.
They're Taiwanese tools and or better than Snap-on (you pay for a name there). Also not speaking of other reputable brands which are 1/3 the cost of Snap-on yet better.
@@williamster2015 I didn't say Taiwan didn't manufacture quality tools, they are our ally as well. I don't even own much snap on, my box is full of Armstrong, Proto, SK and Wright as well as some Facom and Gedore... But I'm not speaking about the quality of tools, I am speaking about AMERICAN JOBS, the manufacturing base and a skilled workforce
