thank you Glenn, tremendous tutorial which I'm having a brave go at, though I don't have a thumb pic yet. love the chords in this song though I do struggle with the F...no surprise there I suppose. your method of teaching here opened everything up quite quickly for me, and for that I am very grateful. Keep up the good work, Tom from the UK.

Thanks Freddy! Yes, I agree -- the Collings OM1 does have a really nice sound! Pete Huttlinger used this model throughout his career and did very well with it. www.petehuttlinger.com/ I wanted to show those who were interested that you could do this song on a 6-string guitar as well as a 12-string guitar. ruclips.net/video/m1SXABFbjvQ/видео.html Thanks so much! - Glenn
Dear Glenn, thank you very much for this fantastic tutorial. My 11yo son would like to learn to play like you for music school. Is it possible to have notes for your tutorial?
Hi Ingrid, Thanks for your kind comments! I have not written this song out as a transcription or in tabular form, so I don't have any notes available. However, a tutorial that I have put together on learning the Travis pick may be useful; it is here: ruclips.net/video/xJ90lykU5pY/видео.html. Take care and be well, Ingrid! - Glenn

Hi Deuce! No! I am not Mike Bloomberg, but thank you for the compliment! And thank you for watching and taking time to comment! I hope all is well for you! - Glenn
i have one question, when you pick is the intro the only time you use the 1st string. so for Dm you are not playing the 1st thus could simply play the 4th and 5th like a normal d shape?
Hi Walter! It has been a while since I have played this song. I think you are referring to part B of the song -- Dm, Am, G, Fmaj7. I can see why you are having trouble telling what I am doing with the Dm because that song moves so fast. I am not sure what I am playing on that video for the Dm pick. I just pulled a guitar out and played this now, and the way I am playing this at the moment is with the four highest strings. If you go to the Travis Pick lesson on Clay Pigeons ruclips.net/video/xJ90lykU5pY/видео.html to time = 16:00 on the video you will see a chart laid out for the Travis pick. That chart at 16:00 is for a C chord, but we could lay out a similar chart for the Dm chord. If you make a blank chart for Dm, beat 1 finger is "T" hitting string 4, the + for the beat 1 offbeat is blank, beat 2 has "T" hitting string 3, the + for the beat 2 offbeat has "I" hitting string 2, beat 3 has "T" hitting string 4, the + for the beat 3 offbeat has "M" hitting string 1, beat 4 has "T" hitting string 3, and + for the beat 4 offbeat has "I" hitting string 2. I think the use of this chart from the Clay Pigeons video lays things out in a better way. I hadn't tumbled to the conclusion of making this chart when I did the Highwayman tutorial. I hope this might be helpful. Thanks, Glenn
Thank you much I got a bit confused with the string numbers, as I tend to Travis pick without the high e string, unless used to accentuate the melody, like in “streets of London” or “the Boxer”. So I see variations in style sometimes and I’m not sure if I should be picking the high e for chord structures like G, Dm, D or Bm. In your reference to Clay pigeons I will look carefully at the chart as then the string reference should be 1?
