Thank you for the kind words, Heather. Yes, I think it’s pretty darn cool, too! I’m sure I will come up with many ideas of what can be done with it. Thanks for watching!
Here's to a great recovery from the surgery. That piece of equipment is now a double edged sword. And it appears to be a sharp one too. I loved the engraving on the putty knife. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂
Thank you very much, Glen, for the well wishes. I had a meeting with the surgeon today and found out that I will need further surgery. Apparently cancer was found in the appendix and they think it has drifted into the colon. Oh well, just another adventure to go through. 😃😃😃 This equipment is an awesome piece of kit. I’m always amazed at the things they can invent these days. Thanks for watching, buddy! 😃😃😎😎
When you did the 8mm bamboo you set up with the 1-3mm gauge height and were too high to allow it to burn through. You should have been on the lowest step and that might have worked for you. Can you gap the laser this way and try it again?
Hi Gord. Very good video, thanks. I watched another one where the guy said that this system will only work in offline mode (button press mode) if the file on the SD card is written by Lightburn. Wont work if writtenwith other software. Do you know anything about that ??
I'm sorry, Lyndon, but I don't know about that. To be honest I haven't been well and haven't touched that machine since I published that video. I'm sorry I can't be more help! I hope you are able to find the answer to this. Take care, .....Gord
Glad you like it, Harold. Well, I am back on the mend but will need further surgery in the near future. I guess that's what I get for living so long. LOL! Take care, my friend, .....Gord
I was wondering if I could use a laser to selectively remove paint for an electro-etched project I have in mind...this vid proved that was quite possible. Thanks for the demo!
Great Video Gord, I just happen to have an Ender 3 V2 sitting idle at the moment. Did you mention what the wattage was on the unit you were showing. I may have missed it. Take Care, Ted
It sure is handy in the fact it is a two in one machine. The TTC450 CNC router will take a laser module as well. I wonder if you could make it a CNC laser? Now that would be interesting. I just might have to give it a try LOL. Fun and informative video my friend. Just read your comment to Phil, prayers for you my friend. Take care, Gary
Gary, I can’t see why you could not fabricate an adaptor to mount this laser module on a CNC router. The tricky part might be finding the software to run it. You’re right, that does sound interesting. Thank you for your well wishes, my friend. I appreciate you very much! Thanks for watching! Take care, …..Gord
I think Two Trees has all that taken care of. It already has wires to run a laser module and they sell one for it. Pretty low powered but good for someone with limited room. Which I have created for myself by getting too many toys LOL
Glad you like it, Dick. Actually, the software is not nearly as intimidating as I thought it might be. Lightburn is the software I use and there are a ton of videos on RUclips to help with any questions we might have. I am far from an expert but I am able to do a lot with it after just a little practice. The only thing that isn't wonderful about Lightburn is that it is not free. I believe it has a 30 day free trial and then it has to be paid for. I think it was $60US which I think is a very fair price for what you get. Thanks for the well wishes, Dick! Take care, .....Gord
Hi Gord, This popped up tonight and what a great idea to adapt a 3D Printer into a Laser Engraver. It worked really well. Thought I hadn't seen a video from you for a while and just looked I've got 3 to watch that YT didn't tell me abouy. Glad the op went well. Take care my friend. Cheers, Huw
Hello Huw, I agree that it’s a great idea. I’m constantly amazed at what is being invented these days. It does work very well; better than I had expected. 😎😎 I recently discovered that a lot of the subscriptions I had set up had disappeared and I had to resubscribe. Apparently I was not the only one. 🤔🤔 Thanks for watching, buddy! Take care, …..Gord
Hi Gord that looks like a fun machine and I am very impressed with the projects you made with it! I hope to see more! That eagle from thin bamboo would look great if you filled the cut out parts with colored resin! Anyway, well done and thanks! Cheers Al
I'm glad you liked it, Al. Filling the cutouts with resin is a great idea! You've got my head swimming with the ideas for different colored resins. As if I need help coming up with ideas!! 😜😜 Thanks for watching! All the best, .....Gord
...happy that things went well for you...👍 Was wondering when someone would make one of these...and it looks pretty interesting. Thanks for the review! Matf
Really cool tools there Gord. Unfortunately, with my budget I'll have to stick with my dull pencil and finger paints. Seriously, that laser is super precise so the images you engrave are so very clear. That coupled with a quick changeover to the 3D printer make these two toys a great match. Great video my friend. Glad to hear you are feeling better as well.
You're doing something right, Gord! LOL! This is a very cool addition to a 3D printer! So many possibilities even on the smaller surface. I like your measuring guide, too. Did that come with it or? Enjoyed the video, my friend! I'm so glad you have gotten your surgery out of the way, it's so good to have those behind us. Take good care, buddy! 😃 Oh, the US link in your description does not work, dang it! Phil
Glad you liked it, Phil. I can sure think of a lot of uses for it, myself. Had a meeting with my surgeon today and I guess I’m not finished with the surgery. It turns out they found cancer in the appendix and it looks like it has spread to the colon to some degree. Back under the knife at the end of June to find out just what’s going on. Oh well, just another adventure! 😁😁 Thanks for watching! Take care, buddy, …..Gord
