I'm so glad I searched for this again as last time I checked only a couple of weeks ago there was no tutorial for it! This is such a beautiful song I stumbled across months ago and have been dying to learn it ever since but I'm not at the point where I can read sheet music and only just finished learning how to read chords. Watching this makes me realize it's a lot more complicated than I thought and maybe I'm being too ambitious but looks like Victoria will be in lockdown for another few months so this will be my lockdown challenge!! I have been there when reading sheet music was just very difficult and that learning a song took ages 😅 Then focused on progressing a little every week and it slowly got easier. The piece itself is definitely not easy, but it is so amazing to play. That gave me a lot of motivation to stick with it, resulting in this video. The video is not really a tutorial, but you can see the notes and finger placement.. so maybe it is in a way 😁 Best of luck learning this piece!
Hi Jessica, dont be intimated by this song. It starts slow, shows you the pattern and then go slowly step by step. I just restarted playing piano this year (played a bit at 7 years old and in grade 5 highscool) and fell in love with this song. The emotions that it brings while listening is nothing compare to the chords and vibrations when you play it by yourself. Give yourself a chance to learn it and its only 5-6 $ to buy the sheetmusic. You dont have to learn it full speed, even at half the speed its still is beautifull!

Thanks so much Valerie! This piece is indeed a bit challenging for someone who just started playing the piano 😉 but it can be a great motivator to try some challenging pieces. Just take it bar by bar and play it slow in the beginning, as slow as needed to play the passages. Practice the left and right hand seperate until you feel you have a grasp on both hands seperately, then try to play them at the same time. Best of luck on your piano journey! And most of all, enjoy!

i started playing piano 4 months ago and thanks to you, I am able to learn this piece.
As i am learning, I am experiencing how absolutely difficult it is to play this and it shows me, how much skill you have. it’s really incredible.
i am practicing as good as i can but it will take me some more weeks, manybe months. i mastered the first 2 minutes, even tho way slower. but it doesn’t matter, i will make it and it’s only possible because of you, i can’t read notes,

As you only started 4 months ago, that is already amazing that you can play the first 2 minutes! Even when playing it slower. It is definitely not an easy piano piece to start with.
It comes down to keep working on it. A few bars/seconds at a time. Playing seperate left and right hand first. If both feel comfortable, then play both hands at the same time. If that goes well, only then(!), increase the speed little by little.

thank you very much for your advices :) i am at 2:42 min when it is getting very complicated :) it helped me also to play the video in a player application where i could put the speed to 10% to see the exact rythm.
One day, when i will be able to play this piece, i will record it and put it on youtube and thank you officially that you gave me the chance to learn this piece :)

Hi Johan, after buying "Redemption" sheet music a month ago, your video has definetively helped me in playing decently :) It's very useful for people who are not professional and playing piano as a hobby. I hope to see more videos like this from Syts. I started playing in a Yamaha Genos digital keyboard and last weeked I played in a "Chassaigne Freres" piano dated in 1920 and was amazing. As finger placement is often not taken into account on the sheet music. WOW I'm jealous of the keyboard and piano you are playing/have played on!
