- This time I wanted to cover a great old school Thrash Metal band that really influenced a lot of early Death Metal bands......they are "Dark Angel"!
And this is "Darkness Descends" , the title track of their second studio album printed in 1986, enjoy!!

I mean just because its not a mainstream song doesnt mean that its superior conpositionally to a mainstream song such as Master of puppets from 1986 haha
derekobs - You’re right, but bad comparison. Metallica aren’t as complex as a lot other thrash bands and their Master of puppets album wouldn’t even make top 10 best thrash records of all time imo.
@@triad5766 Metallica arent meant to be complex either, but master of puppets's sense of composition is what makes it such a highly reverred classic, the title track being a far better song than this for eg in writing, arrangement and class overall imo

I think the whole album is acutally in Eb, not E standard... Other than that, a nice cover as always. Glad to see someone actually covered this amazing song. Really, I think Dark Angel had everything (exept the growls) that would make them a death metal band *IN 1986!* Really looking forward to the new album coming out this year! Darkness Descends album is recorded quarter step down, but they played in Eb live and later albums were recorded in Eb.

With all due respect, this song is in E flat, not E standard.
No, it's a strange tuning between standard E and E flat, sometimes in the 80's the master tape was speed up, so maybe they originally played it in E flat, but of course with the acceleration of the tape the tuning gets sharp and sounds almost in Standard E
