This looks sooooo good, maybe it will be my first lens. I imagine you can easily make budget movie with this or travel logs. Than will save up for something as tamron
It's a nice compact lens for traveling and very affordable. I did a quick video on it as well. But somehow I feel like my A7III feels like a toy with this thing because it's so light! Good job again my friend
Nice review of the 24mm, might consider it as an addition to my lens lineup :) Any chance that you'll be reviewing the Viltrox 85mm FE AF E-mount lens?
Great review! At 5:10 I noticed some kind of auto exposure, which I've seen in other videos reviewing this lens. Can you explain what is happening here? Thanks!
@@FosterMedia that's what I thought at first but there is a shift in brightness that happens slower than the change in focus plane, which happens rather quickly. Some exposure setting must be on auto, shutter speed or ISO.

Thank you, AF24mm is pretty sharp wide open, but it starts at F2.8. The image quality is not worse in comparison with F2 28mm F2, but you will loose that F2 aperture.
@@TheHybridShooter Thanks, now how about I decide to get rid of my Sony 28f2 and get the Tamron 28-75 would I be losing quality there, I only ask because ppl swear by primes that they are sharper but if we start them both from 2.8 and up is the 28mm really that much sharper, since youve had these lenses that's why I ask. thanks in advance!
Jaime Texeira to be sincerely , it is super easy to do a test like that, I’m not a pro , not a youtube reviewer but I like to know the capabilities of the lenses I invest on , so I shooting them at idem aperture , light condition at about 3 mts to my home library, tripod, ibis off and then compare them side by side on LR. It take 1/1:30 hours the whole thing . I just did with Samyang 45 and the tamron, yes it is sharper at 2.8 ( just a bit), but after f4 near inexistance.
Love the review! I've actually used this lens for Vlogs and it works realky well. It's nice and small and keeps your camera light and its wide angle enough to fit you and your surroundings in frame!
@@dandyfilms_ I would not necessarily recommend it for client work like Wedding Videos or Photos as it's not the sharpest. It's fine for me because I only make videos for fun, but if you get paid for your work I would recommend something a bit higher quality. The 24mm G Master lens for example. But if you wanna stay on a budget then the Sony 28mm f2 is already quite a bit sharper and still very light and compact!

Hi. Thanks for the canon tip. I'm a bit of a noob and was wondering if you could say/explain more about the subject isolation of the samyang Vs canon lens.
"The mount is plastic and painted in silver" What was Samyang thinking when they decided to do that??? it sounds like after some time bits of paint will come off and stick to the sensor...
The 28mm on FF should be similar to a m4/3 15mm f1.7 Panasonic Leica, correct. In Size and weight it is very close just the Leica is more expensive unfortunately. And the Samyang&Co lenses for m4/3 are often manual focus. Are according to your experience the results in terms of noise similar between A7iii with 2.8 lens and for example GX9/G9 and 1,7 lens ?
Hey loooook im the 8th comment!!!! Glad to see your reviewing the rokinon lenses! They look awesome for the price and i think they are great lenses!Looking to get the 35mm f1.4 for video and photo. Do you think this is a good choice? On the a7iii i can use crop mode and get a 50mm or should i get a 50mm? (I heard the AF isnt very good on the 50) also for tight shots i can use the tamron at 75mm, do you think the f2.8 is enough for portraits?
I have already made a review of AF 35mm F1.4 - bit.ly/Samyang35mmF14 I don't recommend using crop mode on A7 III at all. 50mm is not as good as 35mm, there is a lot of chromatic aberration and the AF is not the best. 85mm F1.4 is the best for portraits, it is difficult say whether F2.8 is enough.
I have a Sony A7iii with a Tamron 28-75mm f2.8. I have got some great portrait shots of my family with this lens. It practically lives on my Sony A7iii. I also have the 70-200f4 another great lens, and the sharp Sony 55mm f1.8. But the Tameron is I think the best all around lens made today. A sony 85mm f1.8 or Samyang 85mm f1.4 are better but the Tameron does a pretty good job.
The Hybrid Shooter thanks! I would use it the crop mode for portraits because 10mp is enough for most clients and i shoot 4k so normally its a downscaled 6k image but if i crop its true 4k which is completely fine i think. Do you think its a good option for the time being?
