its interesting that people consider season 2s quality bad but i thought it was great so if thats the lower end im pretty satisfied
S2 in the LN was amazing but the production was really bad
Season 2's animation quality is decent. Clearly a lot of passion was put into it given the 30 minute episodes with no op or ed, but there just wasn't as much resources and time
season 2 had better animation than a lot of stuff ive seen before. i didnt even really notice the quality drop until people started pointing it out. i still cant get enough of Emilias reflection in the water or elsa getting squished, or the reflections in the eyes of the characters.
Little Emilia throwing random techniques at Pandora will never be not beautiful.
Same. Season 2 exceeded my expectations and I think it was an upgrade from Season 1

everyone really lines up to support the grandfather who canonically basically hasn't seen Reinhard since he was like 5 lmao.
The way Theresia blamed herself also hurt but what can I say she's always been broken with the divine protections and the wartime upbringing.
I'm waiting for the fandom to get that you're supposed to disagree with Subaru's idealised view of him. Something great I found out by reading Felt's arc 4 side stories is that while Heinkel and before that Wilhelm left Reinhard, he ended up honestly being raised better by Carol and Grimm as parent figures. That shit made me cry, because they were the ones who always wanted Wilhelm to do better and never gave anything a pass. Including being a soldier fighting for glory in an unjust war. I'm certain in my interpretation of ex 2 where Grimm is the real hero of the story, especially with one particular line about him in battle ballad, and the two of them never supported the war with Grimm never personally taking a life and Carol distressed when Theresia lost to the sword saint divine protection to save Wilhelm by slaughtering people. They knew they couldn't avoid war, Sphinx fucked over that possibility the most, but they managed to protect people without ever accepting the situation, which is why Rom gets on just fine with them but would try to kill Wilhelm if they met(and Rom doing that isn't hypocritical because he's perfectly aware of his own mistakes and hates himself, but since then he's been a voice of reason so many times, disapproving of how the leader of the oni village behaved, staging everything in the palace so Felt would cut him off instead of participating in the selection, he's much more humble than Wilhelm).

A good recent example of a young new director is Keiichirō Saitō. His first directorial work was Bocchi the Rock!, and the second one is Frieren.
It's actually the other way around, Bocchi just came out first.

I don't think the hate season 2 gets is justified. There are definitely things to criticise, but considering when it was made, it's amazing that it was as good as it was.

@@user-ls1qc8hg2s the dialogue was very confusing and vague at times in the anime. Like how it was explained in the anime that Roswaal new about RBD but didn't know the activating condition. But this thing was so vaguely mentioned in the anime that 99% of the viewers missed it.
im so excited and also nervous for this season... arc 6 is my favorite I just really want it to be adapted well, and also taken well publicly.

I think the perfect amount of episodes would be 40. 20 episodes per arc, 4 episodes per volume. And if they were to do this, I can see them going the bleach TYBW approach, or having multiple split cours
Arc 6 is longer by like 2 volumes then arc 5. It wouldnt work.

@@p.istvan8744Its not longer. Both are 5 volumes long each. However arc 6 web novel has more phases than arc 5 but that is irrelevant for the anime.
@@letsplaysaschagd9331 Yes, sorry. That is what I went by as I read the WN. Kind of forgot that the LN is a bit different and the anime adapts that.
I feel like arc 6 needs more episodes because of how dialogue and introspectionally heavy it is. Arc 5 has a good amount of dialogue, but it's mostly battle shonen for a good portion.
Life will be good if they adapt my two favorite arcs of the web novel well
I have a lot of hope for Re:Zero but we have to wait to see.
I'm a bit scared about them adapting Arc 6. But it's White Fox, I have faith in them, and it's 2024, so hopefully the production should be going well. Considering the animation quality on Sengoku, it looks great and it should be because Arc 5 is going to be action packed. Nevertheless, I'm hyped. 🔥
if anything i would be scared about them adapting arc 5. arc 6 should be hard to screw up just by virtue of it being less action heavy and also just so goddamn good

Regarding production quality I think it's going to be pretty good.
The biggest issue i had with Season 2 was the compositing and post processing which looks like something done last minute (mostly due to time crunch). But that can be avoided since no one is locked at home anymore.
Character designs will most likely return to Season 1 style (more detailed with more shading)
Animation quality could be on the same level as S1. When it comes to staff connections, i don't see much potential for anything too high profile.
But direction is a different issue. Looking through Sunohara's works, he has little experience with psychological thriller anime.
I think Arc 5 adaptation will be fine since they have a fine schedule and a refined White Fox which means no management issues.
But I'm doubtful for Arc 6's direction. Unless Sunohara somehow turns out to have the mind to handle a psychological character study as a director, i only hope for other episode directors to take the helm for heavier episodes, other than that there could be a director switch mid cour like Mushoku Tensei.
Regarding high priority episodes. Since Arc 5 is action-heavy it's safe to assume they will hire a lot of action animators. I don't know who but I'm hoping for a few:
The highest quality i can expect is a Hironori Tanaka episode since he has worked on a cut on Opening 2 (which means production connections) and pretty much works in every big anime.
It could also be interesting to see Kosuke Kato return. He worked on Season 1's Emilia vs Elsa in Episode 3. He has recently shown amazing evolution as an animator especially in his role as a main animator for JJK season 2. His output is insane in both quality and quantity. The problem is he said he'd take a three month vacation after finishing his final cut.

I could honestly see a Bleach Thousand Year Blood War kind of situation for season 3 where it is 50 episodes, but each cour is released like every other season or something, giving the staff more time to work on it.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of theories of where a cour could split and I agree, that's my favorite spot for it

I never read the novels, so season 2 was awesome I didn't really notice animation difference.

I'm thinking it'll be 40 episodes and 1 movie. I'll see it moreso slated for summer 2024 though as they'll announce whatever during the event and there's buffer time for them to polish it. The fall is a bit too far granted they announced it basically a year ago we'll be getting a season 3, after 3 years, with most likely 2 years already in development. I am pretty sure it is a massive season as they have taken so long to announce a release date and I am willing to bet they're going for quality over quantity. I am optimistic for a release this year but I think it'll be 2025 march for its release date in a high probable scenario. If you looked at the trailer and the posters they clearly are prioritizing the quality. I think we'll be waiting a long time and be guaranteed more on screen Puck 🙏

I think the maximum number of episodes I saw was 38 episodes
Yeah I read season 2 had more budget than season 1 but it meant nothing with the short production pipeline, bleeding of staff, losing staff to form studio bind and studio nexus who animated 10 whole episodes of season 1 out of the picture. We can’t entirely blame Covid for season 2 since the decision to simplify character models already was made before Covid even hit
Going off by leaks apparently there was a internal release date that white fox deemed as unrealistic which I actually find great though because this time they made the decision to wait and put out a product they can be proud of as a studio. So they can shift things like this around and considering they moved studios and a lot of new staff from their boot camp studio seems to be working on season 3 they probably didn’t want to announce a release date they wouldn’t have been able to keep anyways so while the uncertainty and wait is painful this is probably the best case scenario

@@AsarathaHSYTfr, as much as I’m starving to see peak fiction animated after waiting for so long there’s no point in rushing in the final production stage and getting a lackluster result. Quality animation just simply cannot be rushed as well as getting talented freelancers since they basically carry the entire industry on their backs rn
The main focus will be on Arc 5 because it's the first 10-15 episodes that must hook viewers for the rest. If you allocate all the budget and time to Arc 6 and make Arc 5 bad, then people will drop the series before reaching Arc 6. I expect production quality drop on Arc 6.

Apparently arc 6 isn’t even in the process or when it was leaked like 4 months ago at least wasn’t yet which makes a consecutive run of the anime kinda unlikely but then arc 5 started getting animated a few months back only as well with the genga work starting so if it’s fall there’s probably still plenty of time but realistically they’d still have to take a break to set up things for arc 6 properly
Keiichirō Saitō's first time being a series director resulted in Bocchi the Rock, and his second time directing gave us Frieren.
It's definitely not fair to assume new directors are just automatically gonna be bad, definitely worth giving new directors an honest chance, I think.

Its the potential season 4 I'm dreadful about. Apart from the fact that it'll probably come out in 2030+ or sth, it'll be about the mess that is Arc 7...
Tldr: how many times in arc 8 will Cecilus have a line about foreshadowing while fans ignore the foreshadowing of arc 7/8 being a turning point for the entire series with a lot of fallout?
Arc 7/8 is fantastic, arc 6 is overrated(relative to other arcs because it suits the taste of people who like suffering and think the story is only about Subaru also it's the most problematic arc with fan translators sometimes making that worse), arc 5 is also fantastic. The story isn't any less "psychological" because you follow multiple characters.
Also the future arcs are obviously not going the direction of constant heroic victories across the world with Subaru a genuine power fantasy, Tappei hasn't written a single series without these heroic warlike moments where it goes to shit after seemingly smooth sailing. Not in Sigrdrifa(after a big sendoff with all valkyries and support fighting at once it's a terrible defeat, the real victory comes from confronting Odin's views), not in Vivy(episode 6 being the major turning point of the tone) and not in re zero arcs 7/8. Every line from Emilia's future trial in arc 4 has a chance to happen in a tragic way AND we're almost at Felt's arc.

An anime example of a young new director absolutely knocking it out of the park can be found within One Piece! Her name is Megumi Ishitani and she directed episodes 957, 982, 1015 and intro no.25 and 26.
OP 1015 SPOILERS AHEAD!
Episode 1015 in particular is widely considered one of the greatest OP episodes of all time with its unique scene transitions and great usage of colors and lighting. It's one of Yamato's backstory episodes where he (or she, whichever you prefer) talks to Ace and the episode where Luffy finally reaches "the roof" of Onigashima.
Shinohara isn't young that's the problem....he's an old vet and usually these ones are not stand out talented,he can do a solid job, but his work so far is just solid/good nothing standout.

Saw this video title and my first thought was jack shit but if it is true we get 3 core+ that would be really cool but as you mentioned scary because the anime industry is barley functioning in its current state especially with shows that go for more then 1 core maybe the reason it took so long for us to get any info on it at all they have been working on it a bit ahead of time and wail I dont think it will be mostly finished especially if it is going for more then 2 cores in a row (witch kinda sucks because Id like it to be simol dubed because controversial opinion but outside of like 1 or 2 minor mistranslations in season 2 of the dub for a native english speaker the english dub of re zero is better and my preferred way to watch it but if its not ill probley not be willing to wait for the dub to come out ) id at least hope they have a decent head start so that it can keep a about standard amount of quality across the entire season either way I just finished the arc 4 light novel last night so im all caught up and I cant wait for season 3.

character models were a significant step down from s1, characters were often times not on model, DEFINITELY a step down in terms of animation, and significantly less interesting direction

@@AsarathaHSYTEverything is valid except for “significantly less interesting direction”. Season 1 introduced many characters but none of them felt developed except for Rem and Subaru. Season 2 fleshed out the majority of the main cast including Emilia, Otto, Beatrice, Roswaal. All of which were done well along with a ton of lore drops about the witches that was also absent in season 1. The second cour in particular gets more tense and exciting episode by episode.

so is rem coming back or what. you know you messed up if people liked the side character more then the main waifu so much you basically had to erase her from existence for a few seasons to FORCE people to like the main one more.
Rem was erased before the first season of the anime was even published. Also, Rem is not an important side character, so I don't understand what you expect from her. There is literally no romance after Season 3; there's nothing between Emilia and Subaru except some flirty dialogues. Also, when Rem returns, everyone will hate her anyway once they see her true selfish personality.

The author of rezero loves emilia. basically the whole point of the story is to write emilia's story. i can imagine his frustration when lots of people didnt like her and liked rem instead.

Rem, on the other hand, is introduced as a side character, serving as a maid in Roswaal's mansion.
So, do you want Rem to be king, or what? Is it because you like her more? I don't understand the logic among Rem's fans. If you actually read the light novels, you would see that Rem is a maniac who watches Subaru while he sleeps and tries to always be within breathing distance of him. The anime tries to portray Rem as the perfect waifu, when in reality, she is the epitome of an inferiority complex and selfishness.
Nothing will come close to the pure production quality that was Frieren. I can't think that Re Zero will have that. On another note the Anime adaption of Re Zero has too much information cute out. I don't think anime only cant understand the story in the near future and that is shit.
