I bought one of those red MiniStrats to give to a kid of my friend's and plugged it in at home and no shit the pick ups were pure fire. So.... now I have it.... Got him a black one, with a Jimi strap, teach the children.
I have that same fender mini. Obviously it's not a serious player, but for sitting on the couch noodling during the commercials while you watch Tv it's a fun guitar. Tweak the tuners a lil but just have fun noodle and practice.
Tyler you have reached the point where i could easily recognize your playing out of anyone elses you have unique phrasing that sounds amazing! You should release a like 10 hour video to fall asleep to, i would listen.
@@liamhigbee4308 ya cause maybe u wake up 2 or 3 hours later to go piss then atleast its still playing for a few hours... they also say your brain listens while your sleeping thats why alot of the time you incorporate what ur watching/listening to in your dreams like they say if you fall asleep with horror movies on you will have messed up dreams or incorporate that into your dream (not falling asleep after watching i mean sleep with it still on in bed).. or when someones in a coma talk to them cause they can subconsciously hear you... the brain is a amazing thing! so yeah bro 10 hour version isnt a bad idea
I gave my grandson a Squire Mini-Strat when he was 8 as well and he really took to it! Now he’s 11 and I’ve started looking for the next guitar for him….maybe a PRS Custom 24 or Custom Shop Les Paul?!…..more likely a Squire Classic Vibe or Epiphone LP! 🤔😂

A short scale guitar is absolutely NO gimmick!!! It's a useful option for kids who want to learn, and in my case, teens who just happen to be 4 feet tall.

I even bought new gear to try and push me or inspire me to play again but I haven't even plugged in the new amp yet let alone plugged the new guitar into it! Maybe the urge to play has actually withered and died and maybe what I'm feeling are just the death throes of it.
I am currently in a rut also, I found everytime I feel like not picking up the guitar I just clear my mind, pick up the guitar and just play, also having a practice routine helps A LOT, another thing is to not limit yourself with what you are learning, that means challenge yourself with something a little harder that your skill level, and of course having someone else to play music with always helps, not just practicing but also helping you with your motivation. I know you probably have heard this a lot of times but just trust me. Keep on rocking my dude!

My first electric was actually a mini Squier. Got it when I was 8. It actually really sucks, can't even stand in tune for more than a few minutes. Still love it nonetheless, I have far too memories with it to not.
Dude it's possible if you practice efficiently and take inspiration from the best YT guitarists. I've been a player for 20 years, I've only gotten what I consider proficient in the last couple of years and that's all thanks to channels like Music is Win!

@silverstaralchemist I didn't see any economy picking in the shred section, just a bunch of legato playing. I would have expected alternate picking since that's what is specifically called out in the Paul Gilbert and John Peteucci videos. It's not a big deal if he doesn't have that in his technique. He's mostly a blues player right?

The mini is one of the best short scale guitars on the market. I dropped a mini humbucker in the bridge position and wow!

Bought a strat mini for my daughter a few years back. Throw some 12s on there and is stays in tune better than some of my full size guitars.
