In today's episode, I fried my garage door opener, Dad & Cooper fixed waterways and picked up rocks, JCB came to fix the skid-loader, I started re-mapping more fields, I saw a smoke tornado, and I checked out Uncle Orlyn's Farm to see how the scrap guys are coming along. In the middle of picking up more rocks Dad dropped some bad news saying the 10,000 bushel bin had plugged sumps. This led for a dangerous, dusty, stinky experience. Rotten soybeans are the absolute worst. Thanks for watching!

Cole The Cornstar, aka Cole, is a 4th generation family farmer from Central Iowa who is the life force behind his family’s 2,000 acre farm. Cole promotes agriculture by filming his day-to-day adventures with his Dad (Daddy Cornstar) and brother (Cooper aka Magic Mullet) on the farm. With a lot of help from family, Cole instills humor and education into his videos fit for viewers of all ages.
Despite being 25-years old, Cole has an old-fashion work ethic with an innovative approach toward agricultural technology and practices. Cole's mission is to prove the American Dream is not dead and be a megaphone for agricultural education and innovation, from technological advances in farming equipment to conservation practices.
Congratulations on becoming a dad, Cole. Best wishes in this new 18 year journey, for both of you.
Life-long journey! 😊
@@jeanhutchinson6198 Exactly
"or if you're just here to watch a 25 year old farmer get things done" I remember when it was a 21/22 year old farmer! Now you're a husband, father and I've enjoyed watching your videos all these years!
Me too
Me as well!
Hearing Cole say "25 year old", I stopped to think "wow, I remember when he used to say "21 year old". LOL
Me to
Cole is so nice. he keeps the lights on for the mice. LOL
He dosent want stuartlittle to run into a piece of equipment
@@shyone9017😂
I truly appreciate the bin/auger/grain explanation. Our daughter's classmate lost her father in a bin accident back in the 90's, checking on the grain flow by himself without wearing a harness and he fell into the bin. Every time you, DC or Cooper are on the catwalks or working on the bins, I am reminded of that day. God's protection be over you all. Blessings
👍👍
Happened to a good friend of mine in MN in the early 80s. You can't ever get lax with safety.
Amen
Cole, need to get you some shop lions to keep the mice population down.
A few murderous felines will handle it quickly!
🐁🐀🐭🐈🐱🦁
But then the lights would stay on because of the cats!! I worked in a warehouse with motion sensing lights... Not very fun was my experience lol
Yup... a 12lb murder machine. We have 2, and 0 mice
I agree that cats would also trigger the lights. But they won't chew the wiring on equipment parked in the shop.
Have you ever thought about putting a pond in your yard where the grass doesn't want to grow? Perhaps use those huge rocks as a feature around your pond.
Wow Cole, your front yard grass looks GREAT!!
All that work and effort paid off well..
Saw a YT video from "High Tech News" I think it was- they had a machine that cut the sodded grass loose from the ground, and into sheets, rolled them up and put them on a pallet- while it's in motion.
Great job working on the grain bin. Like you said they are dangerous. 🚜👍
Thanks for giving the rest of us a view from your life, Pops!!
Your family is a awesome part of our country!!!
When it comes to your lights you might consider splitting them between two breakers. That way if something happens to one of the lights it doesnt put the whole shop in the dark.
I also see no emergency lights at all what's another no no in a wooden shed as that's what it is wood frame
I hate to moan but playing with power is not what any1 who isnt a electric installer a sparky we call them I used to do that for a few years and was often a diy er had a go and could have killed then ie wife n him after his shady cooker install what's a 10 mil feed for a big big cooker
I agree. When the video first started and he explained the problem I thought he was going to say that he was just going to get an ELECTRICIAN out there to put in a 2ND BREAKER BOX! But noooooo!!!
6:36
Huh?
It's christmas again??? 😉
Thanks a lot for the video!
Great video guys stay safe in them bins!!!!
As an electrician it’s always amusing to watch people burn stuff up with electricity L O L3 phase is very confusing be very cautious with it.
Lots easier to let the smoke out than to put it back in.
Not that confusing, get a book on the usual 3 phase forms and learn about how and why they use them. It's for when you need both single and 3 phase in the same building - like Multiple Air Conditioning units or industrial welders and lathe motors. You have to get everyone informed that they have 208v on the middle breakers in the panel. Make people pay for the burned up devices and the learn not to FAST. 😂
Cole, I don't hear buzzing good grief he's lucky if he doesn't hurt himself or burn up the shop
@@BruceBergmanyou generally have 3 phase in a building. Simply to balance loads across each phase. So that your not putting demand on a single phase. And also if you loose a phase. You can still operate in a fashion
@@neiltooley455 if you lose a phase thats how you start burning up motors.
I think the big rock would look good in Coles front yard I’m sure it would look good at coles side yard any way you all have happy save planting season hope your yields are high with very few brake downs nice find on the rock I think it would make a nice lawn ornament
Congrats on becoming a Father, i was wondering why there wasnt alot of videos this past year compared to others, you are forgiven lol. Congrats once again
Refreshing haircut! (Cooper needs one too!)
Leave Cooper alone he will cut it when HE is ready thumps up Cooper I’m sticking up for you
The magic mullet cuts itself 😂
I like your new ‘do’ Cole. Looks good on you👌
I cracked up when Daddy cornstar said I wonder how long it's been underground. I would say The Rock's been there it's whole life LOL 😂
Looks like it was a pretty grainy experience! It's gettin' to crazy time on the farm! Cole, I know you have a backhoe- do you have a rock bucket for it? Put it on and go break some of the over hundred pound rocks down- at about 25-70 lbs they make good retaining walls and things. And if they don't break, the backhoe is the tool to gather them up. What fun, what fun!
For your garage door release, connect a rope to disconnect, and another rope with a ceiling mounted pulley to reconnect. Save yourself the climbing/raising to get to it.
Good PSA Cole about NOT going into a grain bin. Sadly there have been a lot of people AND children who have died tragically. Always love Spring time. Knowing new life will be growing soon. ❤
Great intro Cole! I know we are in the right place to watch stuff getting done. Love it!
Just a thought for when you might have to go into the bin again, mark the inside of the walls so you know where things like the door and the sump are.
I'm thinking there will be a caulking job to be done around the top of that bin too. It's pretty bright up there. Yikes!!
Hey Cole, you might consider a coat of paint to the door of the heated shop at your place. It would look really spiffy.
try pulling flight and then highly compressed air from the underbin side next time. Works like a charm and safe.
once you get to the door mark the indside of the bin from top to bottom where the bin door is and where the auger is as a guide for next time?
Depending where your farm is located in Iowa, that large boulder could be a glacial erratic. Rocks left behind by retreating glaciers.
Yup. The glaciers were retreating from climate change.
🇺🇸Hey, Cornster;
Racing and screwing around, on machinery, is how preventable accidents happen. The results are tragic.
GOD Bless
One of my biggest fears watching your channel is that you may go inside the bins!
Be careful!!
Just went and watched the birth of Little Edward on Nave's youtube channel. Not ashamed to admit I teared up watching it. Congratulations.
I'm not crying, you're crying. 😇
Saving money doesn’t always save money. Also, see if that big rock has iron in it. If a big meteor, then new binds are paid for.
Cooper deserves a raise!
So, you're an old married man with a baby. You won the lotto with Naeva and with the new baby. Welcome to a different world than you have ever seen. you'll do great, we all lived through it. Lot of proud moments ahead, little heartaches and the real world. Congrats on what I've seen you do for the last few years. I think you were 20 when we first started watching you. Almost like coming home to the family.
Man cows are the coolest animals man I love them
Most of those sensors have a sensitivity adjustment
Connect a air hose to some tubing and put it in the suction of the auger and turn the air on full blast to push it away from auger
Cool you need Hydro Mousse it grows grass anywhere it sprays right on the various spots you can even spray it on cement blocks and grass will grow on it
Hey Cole! Congrats on your wedding and the baby!!! You two will be amazing parents!!!!
Is bull dozer Ron and Trucker Ron the same person!
Wow that is scary in the Bean bin, I know you will be careful ❤
Two hot and one neutral comes into the panel. Hot to neutral is 120 volt, hot to hot is 240 volt. the hot wires go thru the circuit breakers and switches. The neutral is connected to earth ground. Black is usually hot and white is usually neutral.
Cole i started watching you when you had just started on your grampas house and cleaning up the farm..and now you and your beautiful wife are daddy and mommy..how aewsome is that..and not to mention all that you have done on the house and heck the whole farm..you should do some kind of replay like some do for those that just dont realy know how far you have come..just beautiful
Big time fan Cole, I thought I might add that your shape likely doesn’t have 3 phase power. More than likely it’s just 120/240. Which is a standard service to all houses through triplex. (Two hot legs and one neutral) 120 on each leg to ground and 240 between them. Depending on what transformer setup you had if there was 3 phase power you would also have 277/480 volt. Stay safe!
He said it was a 3 phase 240v delta wild leg panel. B phase would be 208 to neutral. That's why every third spot will be empty unless it is a 3ph breaker
@@michaelardai9703 huh, kids must have distracted me at that moment. Didn’t hear that! My mistake, thanks for clarifying!
Great work guys. Keep it up
Cole DC was showing your kid off happy for yall enjoy every minute it goes fast teach them in the way they should go and they will not depart from it
Hay Cole wherever the auger is in the bin maybe paint a yellow or orange stripe up the bin side easier to find auger
You just came to my school today (5/10/23) i was the kid with the mullet thatnk you for the picture keep up the great work man
Big Rock, wash it down and place at the end of driveway with you house number on it. Cut numbers out for steel and mount them so they are about 1 inch off the rock, would look nice.
Everything is looking great especially the house in the background with your sexy smiling face when you introduce your video. Enjoying the farming days of fun with the family. Keep them coming my friend! 😎
Cole there is a wiring diagram glued to the inside of the control box cover of that trolley operator, it has the wiring by color code....and for future if ever get another trolley operator get the auto reconnect option for a commercial garage door opener so you can reconnect from the ground which is much less hazardous to your family's health...... glancing at your load panel I really can not see but it sure appears you have three incoming power legs at the top of the bus bars ....if you are using three phase any where be sure to mark the leads when removing a motor from the power as if you reverse any two of the leads the electrical motor will run backwards ..the leads will or should have been color coded L1 Black L2 Red L3 Blue the Neutral (N) marked White and Ground (G) Green
Orange spray paint a strip where the door and auger are when the bin is empty for the future.
We had an 8330 with a light issue. When you turned on the lights it would throw itself into park.
Amazing video, love y’all content keep it up, also hope your able to get that bin issue sorted out
He looks so mature with that haircut
It’s so dumb but insta like for your intro. It makes me happy. I cannot possibly explain why but who cares… I’m here to watch a farmer kick agriculture @$$.
Good stuff Cole 👍👍👍
Cole, your hair looks great! I think this is your best haircut ever!
The mice prefer the lights on!
I came to the comments to say the same thing..
VanWall wants to sell you a new Gator. 😊 7:14

Awesome Video and Much Love as Always 🌽 🌟
I learned along time ago to haul the grain off and store it at the elevators...3-5 cents per month vs all this headache..
Thats just me....I have at least 8 elevators I can dump at within 30 miles of the house...
I spent my youth in those damn grain bins for the old timers... Ground hog feed every 2-3 days for years....
✨A mouse 🐭. 🤣🤣 Squeak. Squeak.
God bless your family
If I didn't know better I'd say you really like that new Gator ! 😏
I saw at a farm show and one of the farm RUclipsrs installed a "chopper" thingee on their sweep near the center bin hole. I think it was the Larson's. It will chop up all those chunks.
that rock grow a lot corncole
Love the 6am uploads!
That rock looks like a geode, crack it open! Nice job on the fatherly haircut Cole!
Love the video. Can't wait for planting! I grew up on the farm in Southwest Minnesota and have lots of memories that are rekindled with your videos. ;-)
That’s a SCAREY mess. ❤❤
120 and 240 are split phase (sometimes called, erroneously, single phase.) Three phase power comes in 208 or 460 depending on wiring (delta v star). Your panel does look like 3 phase. 120 is one hot, one neutral. 240 is 2 hot, one neutral. 208 / 460 is 3 hot, one neutral.
Also, always treat neural as "hot" because the millisecond one phase drops or the load becomes uneven you start having voltage in the neutral, and it will happily fry you towards true-ground.
Do you wear an adjustable safety harness when inside the grain bin? Also a walkie-talkie and a spotter outside?
THANK YOU(Im not shouting, in this case) i am so glad you pointed it out. Hope they take the hint.
Good show today and nice work on the garage door opener. 👍
2 videos in 2 days. Cole is back.
Like the hair cut. You and the wife need to do a live Q&A. Show off that little miracle of yours and some wed pics. Please
Nave has a video of the birth on her channel
great video. Sorry about the plug. Good luck.
Where do you guys put all the rocks you harvest from the field?
Cool light bulb noises 😆
Hair looking nice. John Deer gators are nice. DC that rock looks I huge Dinosaur pile 🤭.Farmers out this way in NC been flipping the dirt. They getn ready to plant.
The only time I was on a farm was when I was a kid at my Grandparents house in the summer when they were tying tobacco on sticks to hang in the barns..
Yall stay safe those grain bins scare me..
The Electrician in me is cringing watching that panel 🤦♂️
Soft hands brother
Tough day. Good work. The whole Cornstar Family stays in my prayers.
Thoughts and prayers always works .😂😂😂😂😂
I don't understand why people like you make comments like this, this family is making lots of money off of us the taxpayer yet they need prayers, Please enlighten me and explain why THEY need prayers??? Are you insinuating they're lying to us that's a given and maybe your right then we need to pray and pray hard so they get saved. God be with you?!
@@rodneygobbler6279 I'm sure he is praying for them to be safe from getting injured or killed doing what needs to be done on the farm. They make money because people like and subscribe to their channel so if you don't like that they make money off of their subscribers then maybe don't watch them don't like them and don't subscribe to their channel. All of the kernels that are here because they want to watch this family because they love them. We're not here because we have to be it's by choice.
@@rodneygobbler6279 You are as far from yourself as you are from God. What does their financial situation have to do with whether or not I pray for them? Unlike you, money is not what I base prayers for my fellow humans upon. Why would I pray for a person _without_ money any more than I pray for a person _with_ money?
I do not believe I am capable of "enlightening" you in your present state.
But I will pray for you, that God will open your eyes to your own errors of judgment and understanding so that you might see the truth and be saved.
I have "insinuated" nothing. I am direct and succinct. I expressed three simple truths in three simple sentences:
1. Tough day.
2. Good work.
3. I pray for the _whole_ Cornstar family every time I see a video . . . so, often.
That you believe there is some unexpressed "insinuation" contained within those three simple truths is evidence of a severe problem with your soul, Rodney. That is, your comment gives everyone who reads it a glimpse into the deepest inner workings of your own psyche and evidences some serious spiritual issues you possess.
Your resentment and spite are sins as old as Cain and Abel. I will pray for you and hope that you open your heart to Jesus and allow him to cleanse your soul and fill you with love until all that spite and resentment have no room left to exist within you. Thank you for commenting. You are loved. I will pray for you right now.
I feel your pain in that grain bin. I don’t miss that one bit .
That big rock looked like Jabba the Hut!
As far as your 3 phase shop panel goes. It depends if your panel is fed by a Delta 3 phase or a Wye 3 phase transformer. If it's fed by a Delta transformer then your "B" phase would be a "high leg", meaning 208 to ground instead of 120. If its fed by a Wye transformer then all single pole breakers would be 120 to ground. Sounds like you have a Delta and landed your circuit on a "B" phase breaker. Best to have an electrician come out before you let more smoke out. Best of Luck Cornstar Family!
If you want more of that big rock, just drive a big dump truck to New Hampshire. Mother Glacier left millions of tons behind. 😲🤣👍
💚💛
Grain bin safety is as serious as it gets. Lots of danger in farming, think before you act, and act slowly and deliberately to stay safe.
Get Nave involved… she has lots of experience with rotten beans. 😂
Ron's a good sort!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Electricians everywhere, especially the ones with OCD are cringing in fear with the condition of your electrical panel.
Finally you look good in this haircut.
Great content
Grapn vacuum out the bin to the sump. 17:14
quiero ver tu casa como VA la renovation please
It sounds like everyone has allergic rhinitis. Welcome to spring!
Mark the panel in Red or orange to flag the Wild Leg 208v to ground. Or get 208v rated light fixture for on it. (They do exist, not cheap.) Better to get the power company to replace the transformers with full Delta 240v three phase. Far more common than Open Delta.
Voltmeter is your friend..and saves money. Been there done that.
He came to my school today🤩
You guys need to make grandpa cornstar merch
This is why electricians charge what they charge
Try using a large compressor and inject air, it will fluidize beans .
Taking some weight off the crusty chunks and auger should be able to consume.
Are your shut off doors working?
It will only be a matter of time before Coles son is riding on the machinery with him😅
