This time, I didn't have a place ready for this load. So I figured i would pass it along and it goes to a good home with an awesome owner 😎 Calling the last guy back just to turn him away would be funny but I am the same way, why waist my time with it, Thanks for the shout-out too.😊👍
1000% logs are the way to go for you Travis, you're not going to find anyone with the same standards you have. You're going to have to process it all yourself and then you know exactly what you got going on. I always found free wood is either feast or famine, tree company work is unpredictable but it's great when it shows up. Happy new years buddy.
Afternoon Travis, Good to see a righteous woodhound refered you to a righteous load of logs to make some righteous firewood... Yeah Daniel is a far-out guy... one of my favorate go-to firewood channels... Here's hopein' you keep gettin' a consistant flow of material for your woodyard... Stay cool brother... Peace...
Good follow up video, and a great outcome. It's the way to go for sure. I probably would forget about the bad experience and move on man. I do have one question, is the maple going to be easy to split?
I had a company deliver a 40-yard dumpster, and he peed in it as we were talking. On pick up, they took some old naily deck boards off the top and put them on my canoe. So I brought the naily boards to his shop 10 boards and dumped them in his company driveway so he couldn't pull in. That was the last time for them. The new dumpster company was family-owned and could not be better I stayed with them for 15 years. Don't take crap from anyone just move on. thanks, Travis.
Im getting ready to put an order in for 36- 42 cord. There's still good profits from buying logs if you can turn it fast enough. The secret is getting 1 season ahead of yourself. Having a place to store all of that is the issue though 🤷♂️
Buck, split, and keep dry. Give maple lots of breathing room because it can punk out fast if it gets wet. When I dry maple its ready to burn within 6 months.
Jealous you have no snow, lots here in Edmonton Might be a good job for a semi chisel chain Nothing wrong with buying hardwood to sell, even tho we have introduced maple trees for residential here in Alberta, it's not a common firewood here in Alberta.. Wish we had real indigenous Harwood here, best we have is birch, larch/tamarack isn't bad either
Good move. Too bad it wasn't a bigger load. Spend $ to make $. Unless you're a farmer, spend $ to maybe break even $. You didn't buy crap wood, you bought crap service. Wood looked good.

Those logs look decent. Being maple should make some nice premium wood
Amen, Mike. Keep cuttin' brother!
Nice load of logs, they look great! -Brad
Hope it is worth it, Brad. Thanks for watching, keep cuttin'!
Well done. You will enjoy the ability of controlling your process with your own logs.

Anthony, I'll make an episode or a short just for you buddy to answer your question. Stay tuned!

@@LogCabinFirewood I'll rent ya some space 😅
@brandonhoad9033 if only you were closer 😭

Space is key as well as the funds to get the wood you want. But good point, Jack. Thanks for watching, keep cuttin'!
4x4x8 is a cord no matter what lengths the splits are
You have a point, but you get what I was saying. I'll do an episode on your point. Thanks for watching, keep cuttin'!

Good call. I'll be sure to remember the maple tip. Thanks for watching, keep cuttin'!

I wouldn’t deal with those guys I buy logs at times. The ground is hard when I order it.
Way better deal
@BrennanRaihl : I agree. And you see what I get from him time to time too.
If I want good wood, I have to buy logs, don’t get good wood with tree service wood, they keep it and sell it, 👍🚜
I've not understood why people prefer big leaf maple.
It's about 5 million less btus then dug fir.
@@BGWenterprises i didn't know that 😳 guess this is why I am a sucker for Mr. Douglas Fir 🤣
@DanielAtkinsFirewood only dug-fir.
The red, white and grand fir are a little less. Then the big leaf maple.
I'd have to see the same chart that you're referring to, David.
I’m gonna buy some logs for cheap . I prefer getting the logs .
It is what it is, for sure Bryan. Thanks for watching, brother, keep cuttin'!
@@TravisDoesFirewood I will . Miss cutting with you buddy ! Happy New Year !
NICE LOAD OF LOGS FOR THE WOOD HOUND. IAM GLAD YOUR HAPPY. . MAKE THE GUY COME BACK AND PICK UP HIS CIGARETTE BUTTS. GOD BLESS.
