  • D.C. fire crews evacuated residents and pets from a burning four-story apartment complex in Southeast D.C., according to D.C. Fire and EMS Department officials.
approximately 135 firefighters were working to put out a fire on the 2600 block of Bowen Road, which extended to the interior of two attached buildings. The fire essentially burned the roof off of one of the buildings and forced firefighters to work tirelessly to extinguish the flames in the scorching heat.
D.C. Fire and EMS Chief John Donnelly said 28 units were impacted and those residents will be displaced.
