This kinda proves that no matter how burned out you were for Genshin Impact, you’ll always come back to finish the main story. And one way or another, this game will tug your heart strings.
genshin storytelling has been really solid for a while now. in my opinion it hasn't taken a dip since before sumeru. i can see why removing the memory is frustrating for people, i would be lying if i said i wasn't initially annoyed. but the fact that you can't tell what the sibling says at the end means they plan to bring it back at some point so we can figure out what it was. the traveler was able to remember greater lord rukkedehvata and scara when they erased themselves from irmunsul, so i would not be surprised if it's simply impossible to permanently erase their memories. point is, i don't think they did it for 'no reason'.
I would argue the only weak plot was Inazuyma. Raiden's Story Quests are much better than the main quests of inazyuma. I was hoping that maybe they will return to her character one day and give it the right proper try.
@@Asheriancommandyeah inazuma is the low point. i'm not fond of raiden's first quest. her 2nd is definitely good though. we'll get more of the archons for certain once celestia starts to finally waken. i personally want to see a moment showing how strong neuvillette is as a fully realized dragon sovereign.
@@Asheriancommand Everyone always says Inazuma was the low point, but I found it much stronger than the Liyue storyline. Liyue was dull from beginning to end and I barely recall what we did for most of it, but even if Inazuma had its pacing issues, and the stuff around the resistance was underdeveloped, at the very least, it had some extremely high points.
Man I adored this quest so much. Truly incredible for such a short hour or two quest.. I can't not cry hehhh Also I keep hearing people say that the "Lumine"(/"Aether") moment is because everyone calls you "Traveler" but I really don't think that's the significance of that line at all. I'm pretty confident that canonically people are calling you your IGN, because the subtitles always say your name, and unvoiced dialogue would presumably be saying the name. As I understand it, the significance of this moment is rather a moment of taking the player out of the first person (just as they did in the first Dain quest where MC revealed that they have been seeking out Khaenri'ah information this whole time while we the player had no idea) and revealing that in fact the MC is not actually a self-insert at all, but a full character with a ton of hidden information (such as their worlds traversing past) that we are not privy to. And here it is revealing that in fact they actually ARE named Lumine/Aether, and our IGN is just the alias they adopted in this world for some reason. Which is a crazy twist! .. And also excellent for future storytelling, because it means that in some moments like this, particularly with our sibling we can actually get voicelines of people calling us by a name haha
