Bringing back my learning on the Carnatic(South Indian classical) percussion - was trying to figure out how to bridge the gap to improve my rhythm on the sax. This video helps a lot! Thanks much !!

This is an amazing exercise but what is lacking is not hearing you play each example for a few more bars. I would have tripled each of your demonstrations. Love the Indian technique. I vague recall learning it before, but now it's 100% clear and relavent.
Thanks David, the emphasis on this exercise is more on the accurate switching between the the subdivisions and so that’s why I limited the amount of time spent on each subdivision, I find this is more useful for real world musical contexts where you’ll be switching between different note values all the time. Of course you can work on any particular subdivision for more extended period to really get comfortable with it before putting it into this exercise.
Thanks for the lesson but it would have been understanding if the 5notes (and others related odd number notes) was played more slower ........expecting that soon.... thanks
You can always speak through using the syllables slowly or you can use RUclips’s playback speed settings and put the exercise on 0.5 or 0.75 playback speed. I hope that helps!

As teacher Dave Frank said music is a function of two numbers: 2 and 3. This is a great demonstration of that.
