One thing I would add is that the easiest way to get to $100,000 is selling TF out of product. Easily can make it 30% of your income. Find a product line you like, get a wholesale account, or even better rep that shit and get rep pricing that way you can sell to other shops and make 3x on each piece you sell.
It's variable... one week can be 4k then one week can be 1900$. As an owner! But live beloved your means.. save... then invest and learn more and more. BTW one trimmer and one clipper is not a good idea. Trust me..
Listen... if you do half of what marv says and you invest into yourself and help others without some fake bs nonsence you will fly... the truth will get exposed.. but just be you.
Being a barber is legit.. only a few problems that suck for me. No payed days off.. typically paying for your own health care benefits is more expensive. Paying into your own retirement sucks compared to having an employer contributing/matching. Any thoughts?
That’s a good ass perspective, IMO we as barbers should go beyond our profession & invest so we can get those “ payed days off “ wealthy people do it why not us ? BARBER FINANCIAL LITERACY
Bust ya butt... but 100k is not enough on long Island... I'm looking for that million dollar plus level. Sky is the limit. DO your best work and nature takes its course if your motivation and patience is there. 💯 stay tuned. Respect ❤️ 🙏 marv
I have a question I currently work at a shop and they pay hourly but I've been looking into a shop that pays off commissions, would you suggest I go to the commissions shop or I'm better off with getting paid hourly?
Commission or rent is the only way to make real $. You figure how much you make per hour multiply that how much you make in a year, you're kind of capped there. Unless your boss is paying you $100,000 a year, you ain't gonna make that in an hourly shop
@@JG-ys6bqyour mindset is what will keep you poor and mediocre crying on RUclips that other people are capping. I cut on a military base and average 30 per day. I made $3,200 last week. No cap whatsoever.

Run from salary... it's not going to motivate you.
Man there taking ur money unless u aint cutting hair
Don't take hourly, go to a commission shop and take as many walk ins as possible to work on your craft while making better income.
I charge 35$ per kut. I average 12 per day and 5 days a week. I just became a 6 figure barber
