Thank you very much! So many of the people here on YT want to start beginners off by teaching them Cripple Creek or some other song. To me, that is putting the cart before the horse. There's plenty of time to learn songs AFTER learning and working on a few fundamental rolls. This is what I have been looking for!

I was trying to learn Clawhammer, but there is so little out there and so many variations, I've decided to give this a try and it seems to be working out better. Thanks for the info.

Hi Hank - I see that you played banjo on A World Beloved - A Bluegrass Mass. I am playing banjo in a local production of the mass locally. The book requires a 5th string capo. Did you use one on the recording or live? I don't see one in the Nordic Choir version (I know that's not you playing on that one). Do you have any advice besides attaching one of those Shubb rails or putting spikes into the neck? Any other advice you have would be greatly appreciated.

Haha, it’s not an unreasonable point. But it’s just a tool to help you become an even better player!
