दरअसल, Action का Reaction है फिल्म- फिराक़। जिसमें इस उन्माद (action) का प्रारम्भ भी दिखाया जाता तो बात ही कुछ और होती। लेकिन यह दिखाना नन्दिता जी का agenda नहीं। क्योंकि एक वर्ग पर सहानुभूति और दूसरे को आरोपित करना ही इस फिल्म का नकारात्मक पहलू है। अच्छा होता यह भी प्रमुखता से दिखाया जाता कि दंगे क्यों हुए? उनका सूत्रपात किसने किया? और क्या जन-धन हानि केवल वर्ग विशेष की ही हुई? नहीं। इसलिए न तो मैं इस फिल्म का समर्थक हूँ और न ही और न ही इस निर्देशिका का। हाँ, यह जरूर कहना चाहूँगा कि- सख़्त तलक तो ठीक है लेकिन, पत्थर होना ठीक नहीं। हिन्दू-मुसलमां ठीक है लेकिन, कट्टर होना ठीक नहीं॥

While watching such riots movie, one can very well understand what happens in reality. But film is not only one sided but its truly incomplete. The start needed to be with Godra Kaand . Ending gives a feeling of incomplete film. During riots both side suffer. Good Samaritans from all community help each other.
