Today we're making 3 celebratory sparkling cocktails to ring in the new year! Today we're making a Champagne Cocktail, an Airmail, and a mash-up of mine called the Brambubble (think of a French 75 with crème de mûre, or a Bramble with champagne - either way, it's tasty). THE CHAMPAGNE COCKTAIL RECIPE 1:59
1 sugar cube (brown or white sugar)
Angostura Aromatic Bitters (enough to saturate 1 sugar cube)
3/4 oz. (22.5 ml) Maison Rouge V.S.O.P. Cognac (chilled)
4-5 oz. (120-150 ml) Charles Ellner Brut Champagne (or other dry sparkling wine)
Expressed lemon and/or orange oil
THE AIRMAIL RECIPE 4:34
1 oz. (30 ml) Don Q Gold Rum
1/2 oz. (15 ml) honey syrup (3:1 honey:water)
1/2 oz. (15 ml) fresh lime juice
2 oz. (60 ml) Charles Ellner Brut Champagne (or other dry sparkling wine)
THE BRAMBUBBLE RECIPE 6:23
1 oz. (30 ml) Martin Miller’s Gin
1/2 oz. (15 ml) Combier Crème de Mûre
1/4 oz. (7.5 ml) semi-rich simple syrup (1.5:1 sugar:water)
1/2 oz. (15 ml) fresh lemon juice
4 oz. (120 ml) Charles Ellner Brut Champagne (or other dry sparkling wine)

You’ve gained a new fan today. My cat, Minerva, plunked herself on my lap and watched through 3 videos with rapt attention, occasionally patting the screen with her paw until she nodded off(likely dreaming of concocting her own delicious cocktails). Her morning routine usually includes watching videos with mice, birds and squirrels before she has her nap. Today she found out she likes watching Anders make cocktails. 😊

That last one might be good with a blackberry simple syrup. Since I happen to have a little bit in my fridge still along with some bubbly there may need to be some cocktails tonight.

I was just reviewing your video on the French 75 because some friends and I are planning to make them for New Year's eve. I think we'll be playing that video as we make them to ensure we're doing it right.

I was skeptical. For me, a champagne can be a lot simpler. I really enjoyed Alspice Dram and Prosecco at Christmas. But my husband decided to have some fun with our bottle tonight and made two of your suggestions. Both are wonderful, but the Bram-Bubble is now in our regular rotation. Fabulous. A Sbagliato Negroni was also a fine use of the Prosecco.

I'm here a bit late, now after the NYE. I ended up mixing drinks for our gathering of friends and family, maybe 15'ish people. It was fun and entertaining making drinks all night. I had 10 drinks on the menu that I was offering from some basic ingredients.

45 ml crème de cassis
Top it up with Brut
A thin lemon peel coil and a picked cherry for garnish
