This series of videos about network is very helpful. In the other video you explained the powertrain CAN and also mentioned the Body CAN, I remember you said that diagnostic on these two CAN bus is not exactly the same, could you please make another video for body CAN diagnostics too?
Hi my friend, thanks for your comment. Yeah, you’re right, diagnosing the body CAN is different from C-CAN, and I will definitely make a video about that.
I'm a little slow getting to your video about the LIN-BUS. Thank you for this information. I'm currently retired, however my 06 Nissan Frontier and my 2020 Toyota RAV4 both have these systems and of course the High Speed CAN C System. I'm sure the Toyota has another type of system that's Toyota's own, and hopefully I can get to testing these systems on both vehicles. I do have an older Pico Scope and an XTool D8BT Smart Diagnostic System tester. You really need a scope and a good diagnostic tester now to be able to test these system. Just having a Digital Multi Meter isn't enough.
Hi there, thanks for sharing your experience. You are absolutely right, Picoscope gives more information when diagnosing the CAN/LIN bus, this video was an introduction to LIN bus, we will have more videos coming for testing the network via a Picoscope.
Thank you very much for the video , why dose the network loses cominication with the Bcm and the Cluster panel? Is it because of a short to mass somwere in Lin network?
Hi sir on some kia models like sorento um they both "B can" and lin network in the power window system what i want to know is does the lin network replace the B can network when the later is having a problem or support it in someway
Hi my friend, yes, if both units are connected to B-Can and LIN at the same time, at normal, they share different information, but as soon as one of them gets faulty, the other one can work as a backup. But KIA and Hyundai have been trying to reduce their he number of networks in one module as well, specially on body electrical systems. Because B-CAN behaviour in wiring fault is way different than C-CAN, as normally on B-CAN if one line gets shorted the other one will still be working.
Can you please explain that my car will not connect to state obd but it connects to the scanner no problem. I am told that it could be can network problem. If that is the case with you make a video
Hi there, if CAN bus is down, normally you won't have connection between the scan tool and multiple systems. Anyway you can watch the following video which explain the CAN bus diagnostics: ruclips.net/video/bvyHx-C2Xfs/видео.html
They both use only one wire to communicate, they are both one Master- multiple Slave network, but L-line is designed for diagnostic tools communication with control units.
Dear Sir, Just FYI, I believe the purpose of such networks is to facilitate hackability to the vehicle, and not at all to decrease the amount of wiring.
That's definitely an interesting opinion. LIN BUS definitely decreases the amount of wiring and control modules. If everything on modern vehicles ran through the CAN BUS, a $40,000 vehicle would cost $70,000 or more easily. Also, diag would be much more difficult.

Thanks my friend. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Greetings to all my friends in Brazil.
Hi sir. Is there a need of a power and ground for the system to work?
Hi my friend, they are provided to the control units or components separately
@@AutomotiveDiagnosis Thank you sir 👍
Thanks

Good video 👍

Thanks my friend 👍🌹
Thanks, is LIN used to communicate with scan tools too?
Hi there, normally K-Line and CAN BUS are used for that purpose.

how many nodes are in one network possible?
What is the difference lin bus and k-line bus network?
They both use only one wire to communicate, they are both one Master- multiple Slave network, but L-line is designed for diagnostic tools communication with control units.
Okay ,,, how do you identify k-line network in a control unit 🤔
Normally each K-Line wire starts from a control unit and ends up in OBD2 connector. You may see more than one pin for K-Line in OBD2 connector.
Thank you for the information 🙏
