    Some clips from Nima's 2-day seminar at THE MARTIAL CAMP, January 2020 in Thailand. Grandmaster Chu Shong Tin's method of Wing Chun demonstrated here leads to such type of power generation which is the essence of the art.
    Unfortunately this aspect of the art has been forgotten in the Wing Chun world and so practitioners are left thinking "is this all? there must be more to it than this!" Well, there is more to it and it is attainable through CORRECT practice and understanding on the Wing Chun forms.
    Out of all the Ip Man students, Grandmaster Chu was the only one to have delved so deep into the "internal" aspect of the art and that is why he was coined "King of Siu Nim Tao" by Ip Man himself.
    Luckily he left behind a clear path to attaining this internal (Nim Tao) aspect of the art and it was his wish for his students to pass in on to the rest of the world.     NIMA KING IS AN AMAZING TRUE MASTER !!!! I got this same kick from a 1 inch distance when he was demonstrating this in a workshop near Munich 2,5 years ago ... I had pain for a whole week deep in my thigh in my thigh bone ... no bruises on my skin and muscles ... nothing ...the whole force was transmitted on the deepest level onto me ... I had the same intense pain for 7 days ...the same pain in a 1 cm2 spot ... Most people cannot believe that this is possible ... because when it is done correctly it looks fake or weak but this is the most vicious powerful kick of punch our body can produce ... I ve been practicing Siu nim tao everyday for nearly two and half years and I can tell you guys one thing : IT WORKS ... I am excited when I ll have the honour to meet Nima King again ... 💪 thank you Sifu Nima 🙏🙏🙏

    Relaxation is not easy, you find it in Sil Lim Tao, but it takes time and practice to apply relaxed force.

    I wonder why there are few Wing chun practitioners that don't do internal training. But after watching this channel, Wing Chun has internal training but for some reason some lineages don't have it. I hope one day I would be able to try this out.

      Yeah Wing Chun is fundamentally an internal art of Kung Fu. That's why the first empty hand form in Wing Chun is called Siu Nim Tao which means little idea or small thought. So it's a deep journey onto the mind (and body). Sadly this aspect is not known or understood by many practitioners perhaps because their teachers did not pass it on or mainly focused on the external and technical aspects (which are also important)

      Because although their is many styles of Wing Chun, because many Sifu have changed it since it was created by a woman. Many men, because of the fact that it was made for a woman, have tried to put a masculine take on it and have completely ruined the origin of this beautiful martial arts style. The more masculine form of Wing Chun is called Nord Wing Chun, which is what many RUclipsrs on here like to push, mainly because they say it is better for street fighting. Little note here... Wing Chun, the original, was created only for self-defense and not to start or finish a fight, but to use only when your life is threatened. Which makes it a very deadly Art.

    Your Master was a good man, and he has passed that on to his students. There should be no secrets, and that goes for everything. That's where most problems come from world wide. Thank you for keeping his dream alive and being brave enough to carry his torch forward. I have been studying Martial Arts since 1964 when was 7; Judo, Karate, Kendo, unarmed combat in the Paras. But my Love, my passion, is Wing Chun and Zhan Zhuang Qigong, which I have been studying for 31 years this year, and I still know I have a lot to learn. The search for enlightenment can take many lifetimes, unfortunately I got on the slow train! Thank you for trying so hard to get it out here. Keep up the good work! Please! Take care. Keep safe.

      I would say at my level, it's more about good use of biomechanics and using the Center of Mass.
      It terms of Chi (or Nim Lik as CST called it), until I can have something tangibly flowing through my arms, that can actually be felt by someone holding my forearm, I won't say I'm at that level, eventhough I do feel a flow.

    Awesome video ! Love it ! But I would really love to see another video where you explain slowly and simply the way to acheive this kind of « skill ». For what I already understand, one must dispell the incoming force trough the lower limbs and finally, the ground. But the more I try to understand your explanations, the more I get confused, like « relaxing the spine » and so on...That’s why I request another video from you, explaning in detail, slowly and simply all the steps one needs to acheive this internal Wing Chun. thanks in advance.

      Yep. That’s the point. These systems aim to build a body that allows you to destroy a person’s equilibrium that allows him to resist or brace impact. The point of these tricks is to show you that once you’ve destroyed a person’s equilibrium, that person is unable to resist incoming force. So if you use this same movement (postural really...and it’s not your normal posture but an inner posture) principle for a punch, the person will not be able to brace and resist impact. So naturally the force penetrates in.
      After that you deploy it in a delivery system of your choice: self-defense, boxing, grappling, MMA, weapons, whatever.

      yes this way of movement allows one to produce very penetrative force. Of course, the practitioner needs to practice being able to deliver such a force or movement in a dynamic situation where the opponent is non compliant and is trying to really hurt you. That is not easy to do and requires much live training practice. But as you guys know, this is just to show the potential and what is possible. All martial artist and athletes could benefit from incorporating such an understanding to their practice!

    Awesome video and great demonstrations! I trained with Mark Spence, and I know you are a good friend of his. I really enjoy these videos, because I had a chance to experience these techniques and perform them myself with teacher's guidance (never without), since the first day I started practicing CST lineage.
    I'd be happy to see more videos of students being guided to do power generation, if possible. I think it is a powerful idea that everyone is capable of doing these movements naturally, and it is a great message to the community. Still, it takes many years to learn how to control them and perform without guidance. Cheers!

    As always very informative but few things that I noticed specially in 2:06 that when ever you wanted the energy to flow you would drop and relax your shoulders, take the weight and stress off the front hip bone and then your spine is just like leaning a bit backwards, I am not sure if I am saying all of this correctly but please tell me if I am right or wrong or missing something, it would be highly appreciated.

      Glad you it found it informative. Regarding your question, yes shoulder and hips relax but the spine doesn't lean back, the spine is to be in neutral but decompressed and relaxed. The open condition of the spine is the power source for this method of practice.

      @@MindfulWingChun Thank you for sharing , I can understand and implement the hip and the shoulders and elbow joints but the spine is a bit tricky I am still working on it, I can feel the tension going away with in my joints but the spine cant feel is as much except when I do Siu nim Tao. it needs to be more tangible.

      I didn't see anyone call anyone a master in this or any other video. The only person that is referred to as a master in this channel is Chu Shong Tin.
      This video is to demonstrate a different way of using the human body to produce force. Kung Fu is an art. Fighting is only one aspect of it and it is very good for realistic self defense.
      And, are you a Mixed Martial Artist that you are talking baout that would like to teach the lesson? If so, there are students at our school in Hong Kong who would love a friendly spar... And if not, what is the point of writing such a comment as it's like kids at school saying 'my dad would beat your dad' or 'superman would beat batman' etc.

      Of course action reaction applies in everything, however there is efficiency in how force can be received or generated. For example if a person can use half of their mass to take and receive force when facing someone that can only utilize 5% of mass there will be a great difference and the one using more mass will require much less effort and movement to over power the opponent. there are many other things at play also like the way one can utilize their joints to create multi-directional vectors of force etc.
      I think its can all be explained with physics and there is no magic or woo-woo at play here :)

      yes there are some similarities in principle but the cultivation and application is different.

      well these three are in the entire Chinese culture: buddhism, taoism, Confucianism. But reality doesn't come from names. More like, principles get their names from reality. Sometimes people say similar things like energy, circles, whatever. But in terms of what it is this is more like boxing. taiji is actually super indirect.

      Unfortunately not many Wing Chun practitioners have actually been taught how to practice the forms (in particular the first form) in a manner that enables this type of control of their joints.
      My hope is that more and more of them will start doing so after being exposed to it. 🙏🏼

    In a controlled situation like a dojo or a class as this the technics can work . But it has been proven many times by Chinese masters in wing chun and other styles of martial arts challenging mma fighters, and mma fighter comes out on top every time. In a real street fight 90% of martial arts is useless being unpredictable like a mma or street fighter makes for a better fighter.

      Everything needs to be tested. The Kung Fu people getting beat up by other styles are not fighters and should never have got into the ring. This stuff can only work on the street or under pressure if the practitioner has actual combat experience

The 2 guys who got beat up were both professional MMA fighters. one of them sadly ended up being paralyzed after that fight. The reality of street fighting is very different to the sporting arena with rules and referees!

      The real problem isn't that this doesn't work, the real problem is that it only works for maybe 1 in every 100 million people. Not everyone can still calm and relaxed in a real fight... but when one person does manage to pull it off...
      You'll have to hear from Ramsey Dewey himself, when he and his judo coach and sanda coach all got beat up by an 80 year old tai chi master.

      Edit - back on topic. Stuff like muay thai works for 90%+ of the people who learn it, and it only takes 2-3 years. Internal martial arts needs decades and might still not work.
      Dk Yoo recently said he doesn't mind fighting in UFC, so I guess we'll see if it actually happens.

But Chu Shong Tin was able to overpower someone twice his own size when he was nearing his 60s, it absolutely isn't muscular power, he's even on a single foot, and the person being pushed is standing on a scale to prove there's an insane amount of force.

      "Internal" is just a name, it's not mystical chi BS. It's just using tendons and joints because they're simply much stronger than muscle, but to be able to use that you need to be relaxed. This is why it takes decades, staying in that state in a real fight is nearly impossible.

    This clip shows kung fu (what I understand as "perfection") in many aspects.
    It is perfect to me in terms of music, work of te camera, sound, film editing. Im really impressed about the development of the form of the clip, because content shows kung fu without any doubts.
    I will be grateful to master Nima King and whole lineage in every minute of my life till I die. Im standing every day and practice from the first moment of starting the online course.

    This is a very valuable video, Nima! Since we talked last time, I finally got around to making videos demonstrating my internal force system: ruclips.net/video/EcTnm1YYFtU/видео.html. I feel that my short force method achieves similar results to CST wing chun.
    Quite a few taichi guys have said my method looks "external" and "hard", but when we touched hands, they couldn't affect me like they do with their students.
    My theory is that taichi is effective when their opponent's mind is stuck or stagnant inside the body. But if you use a system where your mind is partially outside of your body or when your awareness is changing and scanning across various parts of your body, taichi doesn't work well on you. What do you think?

      @@MindfulWingChun No problem. Would love to touch hands and exchange ideas in the future. My method doesn't use nim tao or qi. It uses centres, joints and places a great emphasis on intention (shen, yi), to generate elastic force, so the power is the result of tension and release, a switch between yin and yang state. I'll work on making better videos about it nex time.

      Check out the 2 Bong Sau videos on this channel. Bong Sau, shown in the way that we explain in the video would be the Hook Defense you are looking for. Try it with a partner lightly and once comfortable with them ask them to ramp up the power. then do it slowly in a random and dynamic way, then as him to speed it up.

      Mate this is just a demo to explain some points and of course its in a seminar scenario with compliant students who are interested in learning what is been taught. Of course, for self defense one must learn how to apply it. Before I could do any of this, I used the external principles of Wing Chun to defend myself many times while working doors in night clubs and bars in Sydney. I was 85kgs at the time so was the smallest doorman. But not once was I hurt bad enough to need medical attention.
      I totally agree with you that all ideas and method must be tested and trained realistically to be able to work on the streets.

      I don't disagree with a lot of what you said. It does take a lot more time to be able to use it compared to Mui Thai. Also, real fighting experience is needed, as is the case with using the martial side of all martial arts...

    No. What is seen in this video is all subtle mechanics. Nothing to do with energy.
    The guy keeps flying off FOR ONE REASON. He is standing on two "needles" when pushed back, that is, his heels that are conveniently parallel. When pushed or pulled forward he is standing on two other needles, the ball of his feet.
    Either way, there can be no resistance and the teacher is seen as a wizard...
    Not saying that that is your purpose.
    Kung fu masters are actually masters of ballance and body mechanics.
    It all reminds me of Aikido, where 4 guys in line can't push the arm of the master. This is a scam. The first guy in the front is actually pushing back since he feels he will be pushed forward and out if balance, therefore the power in his arms is cancelled out and cannot push the master back. (There more brainwashed theatric at such demos, but I'm keeping it simple.)
    In other words it's about cancelling power out with subtle balancing mechanics, tricks. Key is standing parallel on your feet.
    Not saying there is no special energy, it's just that I don't see anything special in the video.

      @@vuquanghuy3441 majority of the people showing it yes, but there are still many good fighters in wing chun. My students spar and one is going to jump into MMA fights once Covid stops. The problem is not Wing Chun, it's because majority don't practice for fighting, no proper sparring, pad work, conditioning etc

    before believing a martial art master, let him prove his credibility fighting in the ring with an MMA boxer...only then we shall see his effectivity and that of his martial art. Other than that, what he teaches works only in demos...where his partner is a standing dummy

      Ramsey Dewey has pointed out this question. Who was Angelo Dundee? Not a fighter in the ring. He was the coach of Muhammad Ali and many other championship boxers. You don’t have to be a great fighter. You just need to understand how to fight. But this guy is not teaching how to fight. He used the words self defense. Big difference there.

      My credibility in fighting comes from years of working as a bouncer in Kings Cross in Sydney. Those who know me from those days before moving to HK know my background on street fighting. I dont jump in the ring and play by rule to show my ability and have nothing to prove.
      I'm teaching an internal art that is very good for the health and balance of the body and mind and it can be used for real self defense and its principles would need to be amended for the ring with a lot of rules

      What is it with this confusion that the only way for a fighter to prove themselves is via mma?! Yu could be the best mma fighter that ever lived but if for argument sake yu was to threaten one of my loved ones, then no amount of mma will protect yu from my fury! No one can deny that there are some true warriors within mma but let us not forget that it is a controlled environment too, with rules. In no way does the octagon or any other ring represent the mean streets! Let’s not get it twisted! Also, if yu understood what was being taught here and how valuable it is within a combat situation, yu may give it a little more respect. Some of the greatest fighters within the sporting arena understand these very same principles. Fighters like Ali for instance. It’s the ability to create massive forward force using the relaxed body, speed and accuracy and most of the greatest fighters understand this principle intuitively. This is a small but important component of fighting being demonstrated here. Respectfully, if genuinely believe that yu have nothing to learn here, then of course yu are obviously in the wrong place ;)

      Lol, maybe you can go to a doctor or lawyer or any other profession that use that profession to provide for their families (while giving valuable service) and ask why they are asking for money!
      It's a ridiculous comment when you think about it. How do you suppose the teachers of Mindful eat or have shelter? Some people teach a class or 2 a week and have a day job. Passing on CST Wing Chun is not only a fulltime job, but a way of life for us.
      Those who learn from us be it in person or online are always grateful. I'm guessing you have never used any of oir services otherwise you wouldn't be saying that. And, if you could not afford to pay for the teachings, this is NOT the way to ask for help

    I wish this could actually be useful in a real fight scenario or a practical situation. In reality it's nothing but showboating to willing participants who are willing to be thrown around like dummies. Sad really. As shown in real life situations and challenges wing chun has been shown to be practically useless. Weak defense and pathetic offense. One of ip mans lineage masters got taken out by a mediocre one arm boxer. The rest of challenges didn't fair any different and as everyone knows once they are in a real fight they abonden the wing chun stance which leaves you ludicrously open and resort to a boxing stance. A lifetime of pally pally sparring and the infamous let me show you the this move demos like this one have left these guys pathetically unprepared. That's why they go into shock when getting hit in a real fight as all challenges have shown. I guess it's okay for fitness and passing time.

      Not sure why there's always someone commenting on my vids and brings up other so called Wing Chun practitioners that got beat up by other arts. They don't represent CST Wing Chun mate. I was a bouncer before moving to HK and know what works in a real fight. I'm not gonna jump in the ring to satisfy people's needs and I have zero need to try and prove myself. Someone coming at me on the street and trying to hurt me or my family (or an innocent person) is the person I would use my skills on.
      Having said this, I totally understand and agree with your point that majority of Kung Fu in including Wing Chun is BS and doesn't work in a fight. But this is not to be grouped with them.

      What you are too inexperienced to understand is that you are seeing a level of expertise that is very subtle and also highly effective. I spent nearly 10 years in a rather rough part of a major city where it became necessary to deal with street crime and street criminals. What I am seeing here is a different mindset and different skill set than what I know. What I can see here is enough to understand the real world application of what is being shown here.

And when I tell them I was a bouncer in Sydney's King Cross which was the rough red light district, usually people ignore that part and ask to see putting gloves on and sparring.       @@MindfulWingChun Pioneer Square ( roughly four block by three block area ) of Seattle was the original Skid Row(d) where in the 1850s - 1870s the pioneers skidded logs down the hill into the bay. Later in the depression it became where men "on the skids" drank themselves to death in what had become Seattle's Tenderloin. Sounds very much like your "Kings Cross" area.
      I'm a jeweler by profession so to the uninformed I make a high value target. What that meant is that I never ran out of people on which to test technique.
      People will put their fists up, bounce around and yell threats, but actual closure time is measured in seconds. In my experience ( around 1,500 engagements ) is was usually two to at most three seconds. More than enough time, because a major part of the strategy was to steal time...and space.
      I've spent the last 52 years tracing the history of the Crane system and then it's major sub systems. ( I'll be 72 this summer ) I've found roughly 190 names that point to a whole lot of lost knowledge. And I now know the what, when, why, how and where all that knowledge was first concealed and then later lost. There's more than a fair amount of what was lost in the Wing Chun system. But that's for another time.

For the record, I am 100% with you that for a martial artist to know if their shit works or not, they need to either fight on the street (I did when working doors in the late 90s in sydney), or do live sparring. there is a lot of BS out there and this is not one of them...
