I love how they make the Barraki fighting tooth and nail in this commercial, but in the Piraka one, they made them look like they got along, when the Piraka were the most dysfunctional team ever.
@The Clorox Addict Takadox was the only dipshit that made the Barraki fail, otherwise they were more than rational with each other except when they got blinded by a sudden power craving.
The Piraka are the most functional group of backstabbing traitors I've ever seen in fiction They constantly try and to betray and kill each other and tell each other that they hate they other and yet just stick together and get over those past betrayals instantly just to start plotting again
In all honesty, I can't help but giggle at Carapar's sped-up swagger walk, with the clear expression of "Get the fuck of out the way, that mask is mine," written on his face.
Actually instead of "Get the fuck of out the way, that mask is mine," more like "Must help and protect Takadox". The latter had been hypnotizing him for years and resulted in decreased mental activity
I think Bionicle's best actual gun was the Toa Inika's. The rest just didn't work that well. The compressor gun and the glatorian gun weren't bad, but Inika's was perfect.
+Minigun101 u r as old as u feel. but yeah, the commercials back then were awesome. i mean, Lego actually started the band Cryoshell so they have people to make their commercial songs. anyway, in the german version of the new Bionicle commercial, this skull guy raises an army of skeletons. doesnt seem like a problem, right? well, *WRONG!!* the translation got f*cked up and now its said that instead of raising the army as u normally raise an army of skeletons, he raises them as children. yeah, this huge difference is solely based on a translation mistake (yay, languages).
I know how you feel! I saw some younger cousins playing with the new Bionicles and it got me to show them my collection of old sets. I was giving them a tour of my childhood!
NinTandoCore He also did the Bionicle Retrospective, which in my opinion is the greatest compilation of the Ghost animations ever. Also I may or may not be going on a Bonkle nostalgia trip.
The thing about Bionicle that was incredible was that it was a progressing story with a point to reach. A beginning and an end. it was also a VERY mature storyline. Many characters died, many were tortured, enslavement, betrayal, and a foe who orchestrated events over a massive timespan and nearly succeeded in having a full victory. However, the fact is, with such a story, it needed to have an ending lest it drag out and become beaten to death. The result is something we can look back on and say. "Yeah, that was incredible..." Shame that the games were not as good as the story or figures.
The Mata Nui Online Game 1 and 2 are amazing. As just point and click games, they are very basic. But the atmosphere, dialogue, characters, animation, it's all amazing.
Darude Sandstorm personally and I know I'm about to offend at least the majority of people who see this, but it's because our generation is too stupid to figure out what's cool and what good storytelling is
this is why Bionicle was always so amazing. When they sold the toy, they sold a story. and that line before the music, "But the only way of ever finding out is to go there, and see for yourself." it's literally enticing you to come on the journey
TheGuitarpro3 now it just has none. hopefully they'll get C R Y O S H E L L to do the music so that THE RAGING FANBOYS WILL SHUT ABOUT THE SETS, THEY'RE JUST NEW PIECES! BE HAPPY THAT 1: IT'S BACK AND 2: THEY REINTRODUCED GEARS FO' YA'LL 00'S KIDS!
+AutorTegoFilmu Yeah. i mean, back then, there was always something badass that could destroy an entire town (example: the Rahkshi in The Mask of Light), but they were just the henchmen. now all they got r these spiders. wow, scary... no, seriously, do u know any other franchise where the viallains actually cause some irreversible damage, like drowning an entire town in a pool of molten lava?
It took forever for me to figure it out, but I finally discovered what the hell Takadox is. So Ehlek (Green) is supposed to be an electric eel, Pridak (White) is a shark, Kalmah (red) is a squid, Mantax (black) is a manta ray, Carapar (brown) is a crab...Takadox (blue) is supposed to be a Mantis Shrimp. Not the 'basher' Mantis Shrimps like the Peacock Mantis Shrimp, but a 'spearer' variation, the kind that fishermen iconically refer to as a 'thumb splitter' because it attacks with such force that it can cut your thumb open if mishandled. No other animal in deep sea biology has that profile.
GENESISCentral1 He didn't die. His name is Dekar, a Po-Matoran from Mahri Nui. The Ignika transformed him into a new Hydraxon because it needed a guardian. Dekar-Version of Hydraxon wanted to destroy the mask, but in the end he gave it to the Toa Mahri, just to keep it away from him.
I miss these commercials, im 18 now and these came out in 2008? I still remember buying the yellow little dude when I was 10 years old and replaying the commercials over and over because of the great job they did. the only reason why I replayed this video over and over was because of the song, it went really well the video. ♡
+shadowslayer205 Yeah, Bionicle made no movies for the best parts of the story: The Toa Inika & the Piraka, and the Toa Mahri & the Barraki. -_- C'mon guys . . . make a movie for those ones already. It's almost too late.
Indeed. Sort of makes you wonder why they never produced a movie based on the Ignition Saga (2006-2008), considering those were Bionicle's most financially successful years, and debatably its most "epic".
This video never ceases to give me chills. The monsters, the setting, the music, the sense of helplessness, its the perfect mix to send those creeps running up my spine.
@@johnbarb8344 Long ago the six of them were kings of their own respective lands, they called themselves League of the Six Kingdoms. One day they become so power hungry they challenge Mata Nui (God) until the Brotherhood of Makuta (who at the time were Mata Nui's protectors) defeat them. Once defeated they get jailed in The Pit, an underwated prision located in the depths of the ocean that contanied a mutagen liquid that transformes these once handsome rulers into the horrorific sea creatures you see in these videos. Once the Great Cataclysm happens (Bionicle's version of judgment day) these guys manage to escape The Pit and kill their jailer, Hydraxon, on the way.
+Stashmaniac If it helps some "kids" shows are not catering to and have very large adult fanbases like gravity falls or how avatar did. so maybe bionicle will get a farly serious 2007 style movie in maybe 2017 as they seem to be adding more detail peices.
I want a long running TV series where each storyline takes up a season, and it caters to an older audience with better writing, better animation and that tells the whole story. I will gladly provide writing and voice work for the series.
Mine too. Loved Bionicles. I actually got into them because McDonald's was advertising the Inika as their happy meal theme back in like 2006 or something. Thought they looked so cool, and Jaller was my first one. Just the box art looked so epic. Funny how much Bionicle impacted my childhood.
It brings tears to my eyes knowing that Bionicle may never truly return to it's former glory. That we will never likely have beautiful advertisements like this, a rich and engaging universe filled to the brim with memorable characters, all so unique from one another. I hope that maybe one day, we will see Bionicle return to glory, or maybe some other franchise see the same success.
When I was a kid I loved this because it was my favorite toys coming alive, but I can appreciate it so much more now for way more reasons. The shot of Mantax rising up and attacking Takadox is gold, as is the continuous shot of following Carapar's squid. Why couldn't we have gotten scenes like these in the movies?
I miss this era of lego so much. These promotional trailers defined me as a kid. Enough for me to still come back and revisit some of these videos a decade and a half later
"For centuries, the deepest part of the seas has been shrouded in mysteries and superstition" Crazy to think looking back on Bionicle as an adult that the 2007 arc took place not too far from where the 2001-2003 storyline took place, but underwater hence the organic sea armies the Barraki commanded in the lore as opposed to the man-made "Rahi" we had previously been accustomed to. Even crazier was that Mahri Nui was actually a metaphor for a blood clot that the Toa Mahri needed to destroy to return the piece of Mata Nui's chest dome (Voya Nui) to its rightful place.
I did like a taste of the grittier tones that came in around the Voya Nui arc but I still loved most the more mystical ambient feeling of the first few arcs. It's what got me into the franchise back then. I'm not seeing much of that from the recent trailers.
There's a lot of small details I still appreciate. Minor character details that you barely notice unless you read the books. Ehlek glowing because of his electric eel powers. Kalmah whipping around as Pridak rushes up behind him, because of the sensory system his head-tentacles give him. Pridak connecting his legs into a fish tail. Takadox turning the Matoran into a lifeless puppet with his hypnotic powers. Mantax burying himself in the seafloor and lying in wait like a manta ray. Carapar rushing to Takadox's rescue because he's been brainwashed into being his lackey.
To be honest, the demo they used of Creeping in My Soul here still holds up against the official studio version even 11 years later. I'd dare even say this is better than the official version, it really captures the unnerving, eerie nature of the Barraki.
Today , 10 YEARS HAS PASSED !!!!!! So Many Memories.... the Good Old Times....My Childhood.... (and btw , THIS WAS the VERY FIRST VIDEO that i watched on YT ) The newest generation will never know how awesome Bionicle was. Takadox was my first Bionicle and my favorite of all them. *Tears of the Nostalgic* BIONICLE, BARRAKI, Creeps From the Deep
Für die Allianz! Though, I had a thought: If Ignition had its own movie, what if the female singer in “Creeping in my Soul” was actually Hahli? What are your thoughts on that?
@@Luigi_Mario_1997 There would be nothing greater than a badass and cool movie about the Ignition series. Would be even more epic when Hali would be syncronized by the Singer of creepin in my soul. Barraki and Mahri were the peak of Bionicle maybe.
@Für die Allianz! Man! In the last part of the song when the singer sings in a choir like aria “HERE I AM” and “I’M LOST”, I could imagine the last battle in the pit with Hahli crying these words out to Mata Nui so that she and her friends would be saved-but in the end they would be saved. Until they realize Matoro sacrificed himself to save them. That would tear jerk me so hard!
When I was kid and first saw this with my friend I was both amazed and terrified by the baraki. Like seriously I didn’t know much about bioncle nor was much into it as my friend was back then, but all I remember was just asking my friend “are they trying to save him or hurt him?” …. I was a dumbass kid back then.
I love how the personalities and traits of the barraki were in this commercial. Carapar's brash and aggressive behaviour, Mantax's use of stealth, etc.
The Barraki were the best set of 6 that have ever come out of Bionicle, most set of 6's are very similar to each other but the Barraki look very different from one another.
So many memories. Any time I got a new set me and my mother would always get together and build bionicles, these commercials remind me of all those lovely memories
Man, this series was my childhood. I remember when the 2007 series ended and one of my favourite guys sacrificed his life for something I don't even remember...It's a shame things got too "complicated" and they stopped making them :(
this stuff was my childhood, the fact you could even take them apart and make other guys with the pieces inspired creativity, now kids these days are only interested in technology and wont get to have an awesome times with these toys.
Ok so I havent really payed any attention to bionicle since I was 9 or 10 but this was my favorite collection I remember colecting all of these and these being the most kick ass toys but I recently waltsed past a toy aisle in walmart and peeked at the hero factory collection .........wtf
I still have some of my Bionicle toys, I just could not get rid of them. I freaking miss Bionicles, one of the best things from my childhood. It was always Bionicles, LEGO, Digimon, and sometimes Gundam toys for me back then lol.
i had a really good childhood. When everyone loved superheroes and baby stories, i loved bionicle and its myths.I had a really great time and my favorite toa are matoro and hahli.I will never forget you bionicle 😣😣😣🗿
Real talk though the the Inika/ Piraka and then Mahri/ Barraki had the greatest advertisements in Lego history and the fact that we never got a full movie with these animations was a damn crime
Bionicle gen 1 is written by an amazing man that attracted the audience to buy and read bionicles. Bionicle gen 2 is written by a pre school teacher that took bionicle too far and turned it in the wrong direction.
I love how they make the Barraki fighting tooth and nail in this commercial, but in the Piraka one, they made them look like they got along, when the Piraka were the most dysfunctional team ever.
SlayerOfTears yeah the piraka were assholes to each other not to say the barraki got along
@The Clorox Addict Takadox was the only dipshit that made the Barraki fail, otherwise they were more than rational with each other except when they got blinded by a sudden power craving.
The Piraka are about as cooperative as human beings!
The Barraki did eventually fracture, though... They were tricked into infighting by Hewkii and Takadox was eventually outed as a traitor.
The Piraka are the most functional group of backstabbing traitors I've ever seen in fiction
They constantly try and to betray and kill each other and tell each other that they hate they other and yet just stick together and get over those past betrayals instantly just to start plotting again

It would explain why he's the sit and wait type of hunter. Mantis Shrimp are some of the most patient aquatic hunters around.
KnuxMaster Well...next to the Bobbit Worms...
Kind of glad there isn't a Bionicle for one of those...
Oh dear god not those. I kinda thought the "squid" looked a bit like them.
KnuxMaster "Damn nature, you scary" Am I right?
fo sho man!
Felt bad for the little guy

Where do I find the story ?

Don't tell me about it. I'm in a "nostalgia marathon" right now and it feels weird to have those old memories coming back ^^
This was my shit when i was a kid
One of the greatest tales ever told, about destiny, courage, betrayal, mystery, unity and sacrifice.
Good ol' nostalgic Thalassophobia.
I TOLD YOU NOT TO SAY THE T-WORD!
Today , 10 YEARS HAS PASSED !!!!!!
So Many Memories.... the Good Old Times....My Childhood....
(and btw , THIS WAS the VERY FIRST VIDEO that i watched on YT )
The newest generation will never know how awesome Bionicle was.
Takadox was my first Bionicle and my favorite of all them.
*Tears of the Nostalgic*
BIONICLE, BARRAKI, Creeps From the Deep
Ehlek was my first :) these were great villains indeed
Notice how at the end Dekar didn't even try to pick up the mask. He just wanted to get out of there
Yep. Started out thinking it was something pretty do decorate his shrine with, and ended up realizing it was far more trouble than it was worth.
Holy..........shit! 12 years later and this still gives me shivers to the fucking bone! 😭❤️
Yeah man me, too! I have goosebumbs while watching this the same way I had when I was a little child.:P
When i first saw this one summer, it just made summer break for me. I would stare at the TV just hoping it would turn back on again.
2017... TEN YEARS BEFORE THIS AMAZING CLIP! 😢😢😢 We will miss you Bionicle. The Barraki were great sets.
I love how the personalities and traits of the barraki were in this commercial. Carapar's brash and aggressive behaviour, Mantax's use of stealth, etc.
Happy 10th Anniversary to arguably the best Bionicle short!
Man, I always remembered this song being bring me to life
I don't care how old I am or if I like bionicles anymore or not this video will always be awesome, but it makes me wish I was 7 again.
So much Nostalgia from when I was 6 :'( I miss the old days
this is how i want the summer sets to be advertised
The Barraki were the best set of 6 that have ever come out of Bionicle, most set of 6's are very similar to each other but the Barraki look very different from one another.
So many memories. Any time I got a new set me and my mother would always get together and build bionicles, these commercials remind me of all those lovely memories
The best generation of Bionicle
Christian Faber did a good job with this Bionicle minimovie for sure. :)
Man, this series was my childhood. I remember when the 2007 series ended and one of my favourite guys sacrificed his life for something I don't even remember...It's a shame things got too "complicated" and they stopped making them :(
one of the best commercials ever
These guys were my favourite Bionicle.
Can't believe how long ago this was. Growing up in the 2000s was the best.
who remembers when bionicle was actually good.
who remembers when bionicle existed
I do!
Bionicle was always good
me!
They were always awesome. Way better than bloody hero factory. This is a *commercial* and it's already better than 1 episode of bore-factory.
so this WASN'T a fever dream I had as a child...
17 years ago 😭😭 I'm old af
R.I.P. Bionicle and it's fandom.
I feel like the under water sets was the peak of bionicle, they were all so badass and equal.
I miss Bionicle sad face
:( or D:
We had a reboot back in 2015-2016, it was supposed to last 3 years But lasted only 2. :"^[
@@rodgers1207the reboot is a trash
If anyone asks what the 2000s were like, show them this
The edge!!
My god i had all of these and knew all of the names.. Time flys man. Those were the good ol days
I remember being a kid, and watching these at TV with extreme ilusion and hype, what a good memories, and what a good toys serie.
What its already 13 years old ???
I remember watching the premiere after i just seen the commercial on the tv !
The greatest fucking toy commercial of all time.
They don't make commercials like this anymore
1:24 DUDE look at the fucking ground behind that blue monster I swear to God out of the millions times I've watched this I never seen that.
You mean all the disembodied pieces? Yeah, this was definitely one of the darker eras of Bionicle. Awesome, nontheless.
I'm talking about the other bionicle that rose up from the ground (black bionicle) and attacked the other one (blue bionicle)
Takadox and Mantax (respectively)?
Best time of my childhood
this stuff was my childhood, the fact you could even take them apart and make other guys with the pieces inspired creativity, now kids these days are only interested in technology and wont get to have an awesome times with these toys.
Bionicle was my childhood. I'll never forget these trailers
Kids today will never know how intense Bionicle commercials were.
Ok so I havent really payed any attention to bionicle since I was 9 or 10 but this was my favorite collection I remember colecting all of these and these being the most kick ass toys but I recently waltsed past a toy aisle in walmart and peeked at the hero factory collection .........wtf
The nostalgia, it hurts...
I miss these sets so much!
I still have some of my Bionicle toys, I just could not get rid of them. I freaking miss Bionicles, one of the best things from my childhood. It was always Bionicles, LEGO, Digimon, and sometimes Gundam toys for me back then lol.
that bionicle shit post commercial has fucked with my brain so much now i can't unhear it in this video
Green red and brown guys were my favs
Ehlek, Kalmuh, and Carapar.
*Kalmah
0:52 "Bionicle is for kids and they're robots." Someone just bled in a commercial.
i had a really good childhood.
Anyone else notice when takadox steps over at 1:23 mantax rises from the sand that was so cool
Anyone else remember when Bionicle was badass?
It was and is the most badass thing to ever come out of lego
I do....
I remember watching this when I was 7 years old. 8 years later I'm watching it again
I'm doing the same!
Now this, this is a 2000's commercial.
