    Interesting you brought up not having parking spots at the airport in the beginning, one of my favorite improvements that fs2024 brought was the ability to start on the ground anywhere with engines off! I use it all the time and its one of the biggest reasons I won't go back to 2020, Especially for floatplanes! I love being able to drop myself down on the side of a grass strip (or the shore of a lake) and start my engine up before taxiing out.

    The Royal Flying Doctor Service actually fly these to dirt strips in Australia. Defo recommend doing a flight up in the Kimberly, great landscape

    There are videos of these things landing on grass and dirt down here in Australia (some very short ones). Such a cool plane, I just wish it was better in sim. I was really looking forward to the payware one that was coming but when 2024 showed off this one they put theirs on indefinite hold. I was so incredibly upset when 2024 launched and this aircraft was utterly broken. Great video though! Nice to see you in a jet! The sim needsmore big biz jets.

    I flew this on the Aleutian Islands portion of my ongoing trip, where the inhabited islands are far enough apart that I really need something like a jet, rather than the G-111 I’ve been using or most of this part of the trip. I was never able to get the spoilers to deploy, even if I made sure to arm them before, but at least the old military bases on those islands have nice long runways. Not sure what I was doing wrong. It also felt to me like it wanted to stall significantly above the listed stall speed, even at full flaps, but that might have just been me being too forceful on the stick.
    Nice plane, but I think I will stick with slower ones unless I truly need to cover a vast expanse of nothing with no airfields again.

    As @TazziedoesWT says the Royal Flying Doctor Service flies 1 PC24 and whilst I expect they try to keep it for medivacs from remote places such as Cocos Islands, They have no hesitation in landing it anywhere the numbers say they can. it comes highly recommended by the RFDS pilots I know even though we only have PC12's based here in Port Hedland (YPPD). Great video again AV.

      Also has some interesting features. From the forward underside of the inlet they divert bleed air to there to create an "air shield" for gravel and stuff.

    Angel, I'm Swiss and a do speak German. In The German language, we use both R ... you describe this well. The rolling R (front of the tongue) is common in parts of Switzerland, that's what you mean by the Mexican R ... Germans , and parts here in Switzerland use the R in the back, sometimes it sounds like a A. By the way, seeing a Pilatus plane is always a pleasure.

    • @AvAngel
      @AvAngel  2 дня назад +1

      Yup, i really kinda realised that during this because i've lost my ability to do the Spanish R in the front :D I just default to that back of the mouth sound. And yes the Pilatus is always fun!

  • @b.quentin7097
    @b.quentin7097 2 дня назад +1

    No Reverse Thrust on this plane unfortunately. Pilatus said that wound have added too much weight ... The Airbrakes only need to be armed. They come out on automatic as soon as you touch down until your airspeed goes dead. Then they retract on automatic too. So if you want to see them in action you have to lock on your wings while slowing down 🙂
    Personaly I stopped trying to land this plane on runways (or dirtstrips) shorter than 1000ft - or starting for that matter. And even that is sometimes a close thing when there are obstacles at the end or beginning of the runway. In career mode the game always tries to give you cargo mission with 500-700ft of runway on one end of the journey. So I need to check it via efb before taking missions every time.

      Yup. I don't think it would be too difficult for Carenado to bring someone on that can bring the flight model and other aspects to match the visual model.
      Unfortunately, I think Carenado has just given up and taking the MS paychecks and calling it a day.
