Good video here and good instructions. This is exactly how I size the chains by having the chain go through the derailleur so you can see how the size of the chain before cutting effects the position of the bottom jockey wheels in a straight line with the bigger cogs.
I have Ultegra mechanical. What is the appropriate product number for my setup? I don't see this option available on your site.. only Shimano 9100 which looks different than this one in the video. I Thanks!
Hi, how do I know how to choose the right tension for the spring?Or it's better to put it in highest tension? Because my chain skips on small chainring when I pedal stronger.
Hi Laurentiu, spring tension will be dictated by riding conditions, as well as chain length. Chain tension is the combination of spring tension and chain length. Using smaller chain rings or cogs will result in the need for a shorter chain and/or higher spring tension. There are also small differences in the overall setup of a Dura Ace level derailleur and Ultegra derailleur, with Ultegra generally performing better with higher chain tension (directly effected by using the H spring tension setting). If higher tension doesn't remedy the chain skipping, you may also need to look at the b-limit adjustment and ensure you are getting adequate chain wrap in the smallest cogs.

Great video, thanks! Can we know the exact number of chain link for 11speed Shimano Dura Ace 9070 Di2 electronic groupset, 39/53 and 11-28 cassette set up?
Hi Walter, it is best to measure the correct chain length with your setup to ensure proper function. Variables such as derailleur hanger design and chainstay length will impact correct chain length. You can find our chain length guide here; www.ceramicspeed.com/media/3731/ceramicspeed-ospw-chain-length-and-tension_final.pdf
HI, Great video, thanks! Can we know the exact number of chain link for 11speed rotorQXL 38/53 and 11-28 cassette set up? I used to take out 2 links from a 114 links chain, so I can safely assume I will need 114 links with this system? Thank you
Hi Balázs, from our experience the Shimano mechanical groupsets and Ultegra electronic groupsets require a chain of approx. 114 links. A Dura Ace electronic groupset requires a new chain of about 116 links. Hope this helps :)
the largest cassette ring the OSPW's work with ( I think ) are 32t. that being said, I dont even think the short cage mech will work, the short cages usually max out about 28/30t?
You save 2 watts on friction. You loose 4 on aerodynamics. Your wallet is 400 bucks lighter. You just made yourself 2 watts slower for 200 bucks per watt.
Or you could get the Shimano Altus for $25 that has the same type oversized jockey wheels! 😂 Minus the ceramic bearings. That is my secret derailleur on all my road bikes. It gets weird looks as it looks massive but you get less chain needed, and the incredible low noise since the wheels are bigger the chain noise is almost silent. Smaller Jockey wheels are more noisy and it's always a struggle to quiet them down.

loved this video, is it best to purchase a ceramic speed chain or a shimano chain?
You are welcome to use either. The CeramicSpeed UFO Chains are available with either the Shimano chain body, or a KMC chain body.
hi.
i have ultegra di2 with 52/36-11/28 set-up..so 114 chain link will fit or i need to use 116 chain link for OSPW??
knivez...

Hello, do you use any lubricant on ceramic bearing pulley?
It's on CeramicSpeed's website; they recommend using CeramicSpeed Pulley Wheel Oil, which is available at around 8-10 EUR per bottle.

Ended up getting the 11t version and it cost me 1 extra watt and saved the price of 2 new casette and a new chain.
Hello, on short cage ultegra r8000 can i use your product if i want to swap to 11-34 cassette? Thank you

So why buy a new chain when you removed 2 links why not buy 2 links and add them to old chain alot cheaper ? If old chain is still good?
Reckon if your spending a few hundred quid on this your not going to worry about 30 - 40 quid on a new chain.
¿Cómo va trabajar con el cambio puesto haciendo fuerza sobre el fusible? Cualquiera.
$500 a pop for derailleur pulleys will buy a guy some SWEET mustache wax!

if your chain breaks, that extra long cage whipping back is gonna destroy your bike i'd imagine

Exactly. I'am engineer and you all can be sure that ceramic bearing are pointless as HELL. There is no wattage saving during ceramic...

Ceramic bearings are good for race bike, but they are very short in life.
