As a Celtics hater, I'm rooting for the mavs unquestionably, however as a life long cavs fan, i must say the person flippantly proclaiming this mavs team is better than the 2016 cavs is disrespectful. The 16 cavs beat the 73 win warriors a team that was better than this current celtics team whom the mavs have yet to beat. People can disparage the cavs of that period as 1x champs but context is key. The 2015 cavs took 2 games off a 67 win warriors team missing their 2nd and 3rd best players. In the summer of 17, the new tv deal kicked in, and the nbapa refused the planned 5 year cap smoothing period resulting in a 73 win team who was capped out being in position to swap harrison barnes and kevin durant. So yes the cavs only won 1 ring but they went to 4 straight finals and under normal circumstances, they would've won more rings.
