CANON PIXMA MP495 Eo5 error code

- I can`t use my printer. It shows an error code Eo5, I don`t know what it is that`s why I uploaded this video. Maybe you guys can help me with this. Once I try to print the test page it says that the cartridges are not recognized .I appreciate your kindness, please type comments below to help me. Thanks a lot guys.
YOU ROCK MY world here I am jumping to conclusions, thinking I'll just have to buy a new one, and some folded white printer paper-rectangles on top of each cartridge, then shut the door, the cover, and BAM it starts working. THANKS for posting this and aiding my errands into completiong via the prepaid shipping label I just printed. Knowledge is power, thanks for sharing, got the solution in like a minute!! woo hoo! & super ez & cheap
The paper trick worked for me:
1. Take about a quarter sheet of regular paper.
2. Fold it about 4 times.
3. With the cartridge in the printer, wedge the paper against the side of it that is closest to you.
4. Pull down the plastic piece that clicks the cartridge in place. It should be just a little hard to push it down to click in. The paper wedge should now be snug against the cartridge.
5. You might have to do this for the other cartridge as well.
On the computer screen it will say your ink is low and ask you to click "OK" a couple of times.

The printer is likely telling you that the cartridges are empty, that is why both lights are flashing for black and colour. You can sometimes override the error by simply holding down the red "stop / reset" button for about 6 seconds. You may need to this for a second time, as both cartridges are registering empty. Hope this cures the problem :)
Eu também estou com o mesmo problema. Vou tentar consultar o manual. Acho que os 942 que viram a exibição também estão. Vamos postar uma solução assim que conseguirmos.

Estava com o mesmo problema (erro 05 e LED cartucho Preto e colorido piscando, cartucho vazio etc...). Troquei o Cartucho Preto original que eu havia recarregado por um remanufaturado e tudo voltou ao normal, imprimindo inclusive em cores, alem do preto. Os LEDs não estão mais piscando. Penso que o Cartucho preto estava queimado.
I suggest replacing black cartridge. I did it and now all Ok!
its too dark, nothing can be seen :(
My printer did not acknowledge the (re-manufactured) cartridges but it went through the normal process after installation and started printing. This has also happened on other printers that I've owned.
i had the same issue
i took a peace of a paper towel and wipe the contacts on the cartridges with same alcohol off. after that it worked
You and me buddy, i just got this damn error today and its pissing me off since i have a lot of work to do. Might be cause i bought refillable ink cartriges and installed them.
weird for it kept giving me different error messages I think. was scared to pull the chord to get the ink cartridge doors in view, yet it aligns itself afterwards after you close the cover
Just found a solution to this problem.. try putting a wedge in front of the printer cartridge to push the cartridge towards the terminal of the cartridge box.. In my case a thick piece of paper did the job.. It's simply a loose connection problem nothing to worry about

I have run into the same issue... using a brand new pg-210xl black ink cartridge. I tried the paper trick and that did not work. I may be SOL
You have to replace the cartridge with new, the cartridge(s) is(are) damaged :( (You can't reset the pinter it's not eeprom problem...)
Também estou com o mesmo problema, o cartucho esta cheio e só da erro ou seja consta que o cartucho esta vazio.

igual muestra el error pero no dan solucion no deberian montar nada mejor
