      @What's that guy doin. - Get close to a large 'flock' of them, and they stink to high heaven.- Pretty to look at, but preferably from a distance.

    My only question is, how are they best prepared?

    is it true that flamingo can only swallow their food with their head upside down?

      Its something to do with filtering. I'd assume they don't need to do it to swallow but do so to filter out food when it's consumed with water. Perhaps they only need to do it when they take in a large amount of water whilst trying to feed.

    The big question for anybody, - does anyone know why they are 'pink' as they aren't born that colour.

    • @iluvgalina
      @iluvgalina 3 года назад

      it comes from their food/algae

      @@iluvgalina Dead right, - apparently they like a form of "Krill" which is pink, and because they consume it by the 'billions' everyday they turn pink.

      I think flamingos in captivity they're fed a supplement that makes them pink.

      @@Matt19matt19 Well as long as there are literally billions of 'brine shrimp' (krill) in the water they will turn pink, otherwise they, (believe it or not), will stay will stay nearly white. In fact there are several variations of the breed that are an "off-white" and don't go pink.
