I recall their "Rock Mass for Love", in Perth's St George's Cathedral, March 1971 - I couldn't get inside and had to listen from without!!! 😇 It's on YT. (LP recordings of Masses from various indigenous communities around the world were popular in those days ......) RjB
Saw Bakery many times back in the day, with either Tom or Mark on vocals… never seen this clip! Great band in the Deep Purple mould, but also great originals like this one. Thanks!!!
Absolute ripper of a song, discovered this group 13 years ago and this song totally stands out on their Momento album, LOVE the fast tempo and Ritchie Blackmore style guitarring in this song, I bet Bakery listened to Deep Purple's "Hard Lovin Man" ruclips.net/video/1BoLgLGRyIc/видео.html and thought it was a really cool song and wanted to record a song similar to "Hard Lovin Man" and so they came up with "The Gift"!

This is brilliant. Kind of a cross between early Deep Purple and Judas Priest. Never heard of this group though which seems a shame :)
Seek out the album this track was on, called “Momento”
