- In honor of John Lennon's 70 birthday I got inspired to sit down and play Imagine. Such a beautiful song, written by someone who had such an incredibly meaningful life. The message is timeless.... Filmed with my Zoom Q3 video camera and performed on my Steinway D.

yeah...sometimes people forget this guy is also a classical pianist. Im more amazed at his beautiful sound on a steinway rather than the crazy fast passages which btw, on its own are not that hard to do. But with that purity of sound? yeah, insane.

Look, to everyone saying that Jordan Rudess has too many arps, he's only playing what he's accustomed to. That's what gets lots of good musicians down, other musicians constantly telling them not to do this or that. Let him play the way God gave to him, please.

I think he’s one of the best musicians in the world, but you gotta admit, he does “overplay” sometimes. I guess it’s just his style, and he does it damn well, but I don’t think a song like this needs as many damn notes. But hey, I’m not an extremely skilled and successful keyboard player, so I guess I’ll leave it to the pros

I remember when I first heard this song. I was 13 years old in 1984, and my dad wanted to see the film "The Killing Fields," so we went to that together. He didn't see many movies, but that was one he really wanted to see. That's certainly a weird place to have first heard this song, but I'm pretty sure I hadn't heard it before. It was played near the end of the movie, and definitely made an impact on me. Thanks for this performance, Jordan.

Beautiful song, great playing and marvelous John Lennon.
When you have a talent and you can use that talent to bring joy to the lives of others, there can surely be nothing greater than that. I ask my students (many of whom are in band) if they feel like their instruments are part of them and a few of them do. When an instrument becomes just an extension of ourselves, the possibilities for self-expression become limitless. It brings so much joy to see someone so transported by what they create. :)

Amazing! Beautifully played! I really love the natural reverb too. I think natural acoustics are underrated. Sometimes a nice natural room sound can be so sweet. probably doesn't hurt that the piano probably costs as much as my house, either 🤣👍

This is very good. It takes more than one listening to digest this piece, at first I thought You were tryin' to tell 'too many stories' in 3 minutes 50 secs, but I guess to really appreciate this kind of craft you just need more than one listening + Xtra oXygen to absorb every detail. :) Thx for playing the Lennon Classic: a very nice birthday gift to heaven.
