The redesign is very nice, however, with the whole reviews section the reason why you don't have much product reviews is likely due to how Ebay works. Its mainly second hand items, so your expected to know about the product beforehand and when you come to the website, you want to know if the seller does a good job and ensuring the quality of items
Same reason youd want the “recommended items” to be the exact same as the original item listed, i most likely came to ebay for something specific and am going to take the best option of said item, instead of looking for related products.
I also think its worth mentioning if ebay implemented all these changes they would just be amazon 2, with a slightly higher focus in second hand goods. no one would use it, and the site would go bankrupt. I feel a big part of the deign ebay uses is to fill a bunch of niches in the market, its not the best shopping site for someone who just wants amazon, but it is the best for everyone else.
you'll be shocked to know, this mess? it's actually a pretty recent redesign. it was very mid-late 00s before, so a redesign was absolutely needed but they sadly made it SO much worse.
In UK eBay is given in Universities as prime example of extremely bad design. Front facing page is nothing compare to the user dashboard. Absolute nightmare.
So I love the style of the video! I will say the obvious "This looks like Juxtapose" but Juxtapose looks like Hyperplexed and Hyperplexed looks like Fireship. Editing styles grow and evolved from those we are inspired by and the video styles do as well. So if I had to give feedback here is what I would say from my experience as the former lead editor of the IIluminaughtii channel (2020 - 2021) : 1. Personalize Your Content and Relax: The main issue I noticed is that the video script feels a bit too forced in trying to be relatable. It’s easy to fall into this trap-starting with jokes and then second-guessing whether they’re funny or if they might drive viewers away. Instead, focus on finding your own personal style. Viewers are drawn to creators who seem genuine and approachable, and who offer something they want to learn or explore. Right now, the delivery feels too polished, like a Spotify ad, and the script and visuals seem a bit too much like those others. Aim to make your content feel more natural and authentic, so it better reflects Re: Design’s unique voice. 2. The lack of music leaves the mind time to get bored, I would highly suggest potentially looking into Pixabay's music library and working on finding your style. I know a LOT of people love the lo-fi sound for BGM. I know if I was editing with your branding and aesthetic I would've given you that noir Jazz BGM and edited around that feeling and vibe to capture a moment and experience. It would also have a lot more of the monochrome and noisy almost film looking in-between shots. It might also be of use to sprinkle in even MORE SFX, most actions should have a sound to go with it such as zooms, pulls, pushes and even change fade ins can be enhanced with sounds. Anything that makes it feel like something just happened of significance should have a sound. 3. This is going to sound counter intuitive I know. Don't use the Premiere composer wipes and sound effects, everyone subconsciously relates them to cheap editing which reaaaally sucks cuz I personally love them. They have their place but the only thing really worth using without getting caught from premiere composer is the zooms, whip pans and glitch effects. Also I really do like using what I assume is the deadpool camera shake for the static models/pngtuber aspect that is just nice and unique. If you are looking to spend a little money I would suggest looking into Motion Array otherwise if you NEED to use wipes, the circle ones probably aren't a great one to use. Oh and for the sound effects Pixabay and Freesound dot org (Sorting by Creative Commons 0) can be really helpful! None of this is with the intention of being mean either, I do genuinely like it. I just feel like offering advice because of the channel size and view counts in hopes you jump up and get to do this more ^^
I've actually heard from someone who works at ebay that they're all sick of the UI too - but every time they make a minor change to it all the long-term users kick off a fuss. I do agree though, the UI is terrible, confusing and, in some parts, just flat out broken.
People who shop on eBay aren't in for the experience, it's not a mall or a grocery store, the idea is get in, get what you need and get out, correct me if I'm wrong
I love the landing page redesign! Literally 95% of the stuff on there I never use. Profile, messages, and the search bar are the only things I end up clicking on. I don't think I've ever even used anything else (as a buyer)
I love how there are youtubers that redesign so many companies awful ui and ux and practically doing it for free. Some of these changes wouldn't be too difficult to implement. I feel like all of them should just jump in this rabbit hole on youtube and finally implement them
Hi, just found your channel. I think that ebay's website is not actually as bad as you say it is, but that is not why I am writing this comment. I really love your style of editing and humor in this video haha. Keep up good work. Oh maybe one thing. I think that video will be even better if you remove 2/3 of average memes and keep only the good ones.
You did a lot of redesigning to be like Amazon, but this isn’t volume e-commerce site. It’s often a one-off “I want to get rid of something I have” site, like Etsy and so on. So the recommended items are to help find a better price from another person selling the same thing.
a lot of good choices on the redesign however since ebay is primarily focused on used items the "recommended items" should still be the main thing at least imo. every time i use ebay i click through that a bunch to find the exact listing for me
I think ebay's website is more breathable than amazon, amazon just throws everything at you the moment you login same goes for their app. btw the pacing of the video was 💯
@@redesignuxui don't. you're not original. you should try out your own style instead of doing what someone else already has done... because if someone already did it, they're going to watch them instead of you i can personally see potential in you but currently that is overcome with the amount of unoriginality that is obvious just by looking at your thumbnails and your editing style.
Hmm. Putting product reviews on the product tab sounds logical, but in ebay's case most sellers (apart from the companies vending on ebay) will have 1 of the product they're selling. Therefore the product reviews are from different products of the same seller, which is not more relevant than just listing the seller reputation.
Great concept, but it's somewhat ironic how you keep criticizing the website because it's bloated, but the video is kind of the same :D It would be great if you could get straight to the point with fewer filler lines/jokes
Great video but I must step on a point. Your voice tickles my brain in a weird irritating way, I do not think it is about your voice but rather some editing issue. Do not take this offensive but I wonder if other people feel the same. Just can't take volume more than %30, more than that and I feel your voice thingling, moving inside my brain.

REALLY? very interesting
oh wow that made the point of this video even more powerful.
praise the lord I absolutely hate ebays site design, it looks like it came straight out of 2010

And thats why i love it, if youre seeing this ebay, never change… much

honestly im suprised ebay hasnt remade their uis after so long! no wonder ive never heard of ebay for a while...
yeah right me neither
Amazing design, but does not work for a secondhand marketplace at all. For a general eCommerce site it's great.
thanks for the feedback!
You had me until "do I sound like a joshua"

I loved your design very much 😊 but i wished you would add a gradient to give the website a personality , Great video ❤
thanks for watching and the suggestion!
i like current ebay, it reminds me of my childhood, browsing the internet after school. those were some good times.
that's great!
I love these Videos, probably because i am a programmer and all my UIs look like the early internet
we all start somewhere :)
@@redesignuxui you dont seem to understand that this is the final for of my design :D
