John 'Sam' Newman.
Sam was a brilliant ruckman. During his B&F years, he was averaging 20 disposals & 6 marks per game. Not dissimilar to today's best rucks who essentially play as an extra midfielder.
Very agile and versatile, he was capable of playing a number of different positions.
