Look Local - South Shields Interchange

South Shields Transport Interchange, opened on the 4th August, 2019, replaces the run down Metro Station and sprawling on-street bus stops in Keppel Street. Part of the South Shields 365 regeneration initiative.

Excellent production value. I used to use the bus and metro from town centre a lot until I started driving and go to Newcastle these days. They’ve done an excellent job here. Sadly many people from South Shields will still grumble about it.

The old stations railway station may be lost. but i am rebuilding the original station that used to be on mile end road. in oo gauge. if any body wants to have a look your more than welcome,...........Tony

Great little video Tim. I have fond, sometimes harrowing memories of working in Shields for just under 6 years. It’s about time they smarted the place up isn’t it. 👍🏻
