Thank you for the comments from all over the world. May the world be at peace.
You are truly one with your katana. I strive to strengthen that bond between man and sword. I feel as though the ultimate goal of any warrior is to have complete trust and respect for their weapon. As a US marine veteran, japanese kenjutsu is very relatable
thank you very much.
You are an real master. There are too many videos on the Internet of people who do not know how to use a katana at all, but dress up and make great masters out of themselves
I agree with you. It is against martial arts and martial arts to hone your skills just for performance. It is meaningless if the spirituality is not developed from the technique.
You and your sword, makes me wanna work hard for my art as well, even though my Dao is different from yours, I respect your dedication and hard work!
These videos inspire me to better myself!
Thank you for your comment.
I do ancient martial arts, but I do it not just to get stronger or win, I do it for something greater. Thank you for feeling that.
I am always amazed by such grace and elegance !
I❤Japan... Thanks Master. 😌
happy new year!
Thank you for your continued support this year.
Mr. Takayuki Kanayama, thank you. How I would like to join the samurai and be one of them. I have read many stories about them. They are courageous, not afraid of death, and have served their homeland with sincerity. Accept my regards.
Thank you for your comment.
Many overseas people are resonated with the spirituality of the samurai.
I think that we, who are living in the present age, must also emulate what we should emulate.
Sorry to burst your bubble but samurai are no longer a thing. We can keep traditions and follow the ways they followed but we can not be samurai. They ended in the late 1800's

Damn! That's an impressive noto. This showed up in my reccs and I gotta say excellent display of skills bro. Subscribed.
Excellent display with power, grace and speed! Very interesting chiburi and noto.
Thank you for your comment.
I lost track of time watching this. Excellent!
Thank you for watching.
In all humility you are amazing Master Takayuki
Thank you for your comment.
I will devote myself to practice to live up to those words.
This is amazing, what a sharpness in attention and skill. I wishi can learn this madrigal art, except that i cannot commit to the polytheistic beliefs of the Japanese as I'm strictly a monotheist.
Thank you for your comment.
We are grateful to hear you say so.
We look forward to working with you in the future.
You are really good at this and you inspired me to make a wooden katana and start practicing.
Thank you very much.
That's an excellent demonstration of battojutsu. Your skills are much better than I have seen in most movies. Can I ask how many hours do you usually spend on practicing your Kenjutsu on weekly basis?
Thank you.
I practice approximately 4-7 days a week.
I practice not only Battojutsu, but also Kenjutsu, Jojutsu, Taijutsu, and others.
I can feel from the sound, how sharply your katana is 😍
Thank you very much.
Your soul and katana are one I feel it. Thank you for this wonderful video, I learned a lot. God bless. I'm looking forward to watch you further more and gain more knowledge. 🙂
Thank you very much.
This is not only a martial arts practice, but also a way of life. Improving your technique is also an improvement in life and is inspiring. I am grateful for it every day.
@@KanayamaTakayuki A wonderful and strong way of living I see sir. 🙂 I hope to have my own sword soon to practice these art and make it a part of my life.

I have never seen this style before. It looks a bit like katori shinto ryu .Can you detail the tradition you belong to?Your speed is amazing and the spirit .
American chinese here, your show are so elegant, so beautiful, pure artist.
Thank you for your comment.
Sensei do you think that you could present a video on Tantojutsu? I would be interested in seeing your moves. I am liking the perfection of a few moves...even empty handed skills. Thank you
Michael
Dear Michael.
There is a short sword technique, which is explained on the DVD. I would like to put it on RUclips sooner or later. The Taijutsu are explained in the second DVD, but we will not be able to tell you about them on RUclips yet.

all my respect
Very good .....I can hear then sound of blowing of the sword.... Must be shaped
Thank you very much for this.
Sword does not have to be sharp to create it. The sound comes from the grooves on the blade, which are created so that blood can flows through them
А. А. Partly true. The grooves (Bo Hi) are not there as blood grooves as the Katana is primarily a slicing weapon. They are there to both lighten and stiffen the blade and make it less susceptible to bending. Swords for cutting practice (Tameshigiri) generally don’t have Bo Hi because they need extra weight and strength.

Brilliant! Most impressive.
Thank you for watching!
seeing how you lean forward. you have some resemblance to Kuroda Tetsuzan.
especially the last technique, I think I saw Kuroda sensei did once that kind of sitting posture
Are these quite common features among battojutsu?

Can you Teach me those Techinques

Watching the videos and practising, you will gradually begin to understand what we are doing.
Amazing sword skill
Thank you very much.
This is beautiful. What name would this style of battō and kenjutsu fall under, sir?
I used Syouseikan's technique as a reference and devised it.
I am a technique researcher there.
Kanayama Takayuki you did a wonderful job! It’s a very beautiful iai series.
Thank you very much.
I will work hard to achieve even greater heights.

Hello! I'm interested in knowing if you offer an instructional DVD for purchase. I would like to study the forms in detail and in slow motion. Thank you!
I wish I could buy it online, but give it a try!
Got it. May I take this opportunity to ask if the form at 2:12 is the same as 'hayabusanuki', or is it actually the sword pointing to the solar plexus? Many thanks!@@KanayamaTakayuki
Thank you for your question.
This technique "Tsunamigaeshi" is similar to Hayabusanuki, in which the blade is attached to the opponent's arm from below.

_...Impeccable...._

I sensei i love your training
Hello sensei!! Beautiful battojutsu!! Is there online lessons?
Although we do not provide online instruction, we are available to answer any questions you may have. In that case, please decide on a theme and ask a question.
My question is this... I ha e no ryuha or sensei. I basically teach myself based off I formation I have researched. Is this a bad thing.
Also, would it be possible to practice these movements or is that disrespectful to the ryuha?
Researching on your own will lead you to think and learn deeply on your own. As long as you honestly explain the roots of the movement, there will be no problem. However, you shouldn't say that you came up with someone else's idea, so I think you should keep that in mind and do what you want.
Thank you for your reply sensei

What's the difference of kenjutsu and battoujutsu? ;)
In simple terms, it is the difference between after and before drawing the sword.

What is different between battojutsu and thensinryu style?
To put it simply, the former is the menu and the latter is the restaurant.
The menu is available at every restaurant, but each restaurant has its own characteristics. Some restaurants do not have a menu, and the quality of the food varies from restaurant to restaurant.

Others people watch this be like: "Oh, my right hand finger should grip like that and that."
Or maybe:
"Ow, I get it, the saya should press down while at the same time I draw the sword, after block/ swinging my left hand support the sword, then proceed to other moves."
Etc...
Meanwhile me, do nothing but holding my coolest stick that I found from my yard....
Your own pace is best.
