It is very noticeable how much this man praises the qualities of the people he worked with. A real team player, no arrogance, doesn't want all the credit he wants to share it. Sounds as if he worked hard and always worked with the attitude that his proper place was as a member of a team.
One of the things that always comes across to me in these interviews of former aircrew is the quality of the men. It makes you glad that these were guys were flying the expensive hardware. They are professional, studied, thoughtful and not gung-ho. It makes you grateful that NATO is served by such men.
This guys experiences working alongside the RAF show where the 'special relationship' really exists in Anglo-American cooperation. Its reassuring to know our military professionals work so well together even if our political leadership have lost their way.
Interesting comment on letting his hair grow in the RAF. I've always noticed that RAF personnel, and those of the RN and British army too for that matter, tend to (be allowed to) wear their hair much longer than in the US armed services.
Great pilot...great interview...outstanding platform for interviews..keep posting them always the highest respect for our men and women flying for America
Wrea Green is indeed pronounced “ray green”. I’m guessing Nugs may have had a few pints of Bods in the Grapes there. My friend lived there, his father was a test pilot on the Tornado at Warton, with a French test pilot’s “brevet” framed in his downstairs loo!
I watched both parts of the interviews and they were great. What was Nugs’ last rank before retiring from USMC? He had mentioned he was a major during the exchange but no mention was made he retired at which year and at what rank.

yes. that is how any pilot should be and luckily most are…
Loved it - but I am ex-XI(F) Sqn and RAF Leuchars! (Well done Roy Mac!)

I was an engineer on 111 Sqn from 82-86 on the F4 and we had a USMC exchange pilot all the time I was there.

Air forces worldwide seems to have got their recruitment down, none of the people that feature here seem anything other than really likeable people.
HUWAH!!
Somebody farted 11:38..just saying...situational awareness..i believe would be the proper term...
Nugs looks like Alec Baldwin's younger handsomer brother.
