- On October 14th, 2018, Koolulam partnered with King David Schools, Johannesburg, South Africa, and gathered 3,500 South Africans to celebrate the 70th anniversary of King David Schools and the establishment of the State of Israel. Within 45 minutes, they learned a new arrangement of OneRepublic's "I Lived". Thank you to Granville Michaels who joined us as a solo singer.

I'm diagnosed with a very deadly brain cancer. I have LIVED MY LIFE!! A few months before I was diagnosed and had no idea it was coming, I said, "You know, I just HAVE to sing with this group! I'll fly to Israel for the next one in English!" Well, literally days later, Koolulam sent an e-mail saying they were about to have events in the US in just a couple of weeks! So I flew to San Francisco for the day and flew home at night. This is how "I LIVED!" No regrets at all, and no concerns about dying young. I have lived an amazing entire life by following the advice that this song gives!

Humans have never lost the ability to have this type of harmonious connection. We just don’t exercises it and have cultivated a “to each his own” culture. Oh how better the world could be if we could sing and dance together like this. Eyes brimming with hope.
Knowing the racial history of South Africa I was just moved to tears hearing white people singing a Zulu verse. The energy of the musicians and the vast crowd itself was so inspiring, Yes, America needs Koolulam very soon.

They were just there for the Asia award thing. 🤔 They did have students from 60 countries meet in Israel to sing. I think they're making a kit for communities to do it themselves. Maybe you can get your school or town to try it?
