      Let's see how Thursday's flight four of SpaceX Starship goes. If America doesn't want its lunar ambitions hobbled by prohibitive launch costs, it should consider ditching Artemis and looking at a plan built around Starship.

      I said the same thing....and it's the first time I've ever said it in my entire life. Those boys did a hell of a job landing that craft and getting it back. I guarantee you they land a man on the moon before NASA does.

      @@ibeetellingya5683 It's hard enough landing something on this side of the Moon with a direct line of communication. To land on the far side is a lot more challenging as you have to send your signals via a relay satellite.

      4k for a photo is not high resolution, You are confused by video.

      The original photo, perhaps. Or even higher. But the video resolution is 1080p so that's the highest you'll get with that. Sometimes if pre-processing is done right and one hasn't compressed the footage before uploading (as in, you upload the raw footage or image), the perceived quality will be optimal in comparison to other videos with the same resolution, but it'll still always be maximum 1080p quality.

    When I was young I lived by Kennedy space Center I'm 49 years old now at the time I was six I wanted to be an astronaut my parents ruined my life but I forgive them. I'm so excited to look through my scope from New York City on the 12th floor into the sky and see our moon who is drifting away slowly from earth and is having a major impact on time. God bless us all. Again congratulations and thank you for sharing🫶🏽

    Congratulations to China from Michigan. I like the detailed photo of the spacecraft landing leg, slightly buried in the Moon regolith. Seems to compare well with the Apollo Moon landings.

      You are only seeing a very small area of the Moon. To an average height person the horizon on the Moon is only 3 miles away or 4.8 kilometres which is 52% nearer than on Earth.

      @@hanfucolorful9656 NASA's spokepersons (not "chiefs", whatever that is), are often making dumb claims. This event has been showered with claims about "dark side" which is absolute hogwash. Regolith on Moon is certainly very dark, akin to asphalt, but it's like that everywhere.

    I can understand how an autonomous craft might land itself on the far side of the moon but, once there, how can it transmit pictures to the earth? Radio transmission normally needs a direct line-of-sight. On the far side, this is impossible.
