Thanks so much for sharing the prices of various items in Tokyo! It has been really helpful in planning my next trip to Japan around Christmas and New Year. I was especially happy to see that Nissin cooking oil is priced similarly to what I pay for it here. I bought three Uniqlo Iron-free shirts for 3,990 Yen each when I was in Japan last week, it’s been a game-changer for my laundry routine! I’m also glad you mentioned Hidakaya. I tried it last week and it was amazing! Definitely recommend it as an alternative to Ichiran.

Very interesting video, thanks. We visited Japan during spring this year and had a wonderful experience. I am eagerly waiting to go back to Japan. We had this pre conceived notion that Japan is very expensive. I actually found that you can find reasonably priced hotels, public transport is inexpensive and amazing, taxis are expensive though. The prices at restaurants, supermarkets and convenience stores are comparable with where I live. We found Shopping in Dotonburi - Osaka pretty reasonable. Uniqlo is too good, fantastic quality and reasonably priced. Unfortunately I couldn't find anything my size as I am big built.

Compared to Germany the prices for grocerys are very low. Vegetables and fruits are much cheaper in Germany. I am always amazed by the low prices in japanese Restaurants. Compared to Germany you will pay at least 5x more.

Another nice clip that brings back memories! Arigato. In Japan I went to Matsuya one or two times a week for years, it is great, cheap and delicious. Normal beef rice bowl with a raw egg almost every time. At the time there was no touch screens, only small buttons with pics and the machine only accepted cash, food was served at the table and they only had rice bowls, no curries etc. Also Yashinoya and Sukiya are good, but I preferred Matsuya.
I must say I never went to McDonalds in Japan over the years, I went to MosBurger, a bit pricey, but Japanese tastes and very good food made on order. Also Hotto Motto is great if the weather is ok so one can sit and eat outside in a park.
We had a Sunny, (Seiyu), and a Beans Mart nearby. I cooked a lot at home and discovered that prices of some meat, fish, seafood and veggies went down drastically round 6-7 pm. Otherwise Bon Repas was nice with many imported goods. Cheese was very expensive in Japan, especially imported, almost impossible to buy. We ate good Hokkaido yellow cheese and also home made fermented tofu which after 3 weeks becomes like a fine French dessert cheese. Also lamb was ridiculously expensive, except in a a few pakistani halal shops. But with time one learns how to shop in Japan.
Don Quixote is crazy good, even if one does not look for anything special one always buy something. They have many wacky things too :-))
Nice ramen shop with very decent prices. It is fun with ramen places, when you pass on the backside of them where the fans exit there is this very strong smell from boiling bones and meat 24 hours. Easier to find by the smell than with Google maps :-))
In my experience Japan and especially Tokyo can be expensive, but it does not have to be. Some things are more expensive than in Europe or the US, some not at all. One word of advice: never go in to a restaurant without having checked the prices first. I have Japanese friends who have ruined themselves by inviting friends to places with unknown prices. Thank you for a very nice clip which covers a lot of prices of products.

Hellou from Barcelona Spain, Wow the prices are very low even in the convenince store, maybe the vegetales are a little bit even in prices... or some cleaning things but the Uniqlo clothes, some foods are cheaper in Japan!! And the most surprising for the price you pay in the 7eleven store for the big bottle of Starbucks coffe I pay a small one in a regular supetmarket!!!! Anyway thanks for share😊 waiting your next video Samurai Dad

Your breakfast meal…for that price you would only get an egg and your ramen would be about $10-15 in Hawaii but the quality wouldn’t be as good I think. The prices vary for grocery because I’m not sure about weight and content of the product since it’s Japan brands but we are priced very high in Hawaii. Hi! Always love watching your videos! I'm 5 minutes in and I have two questions: What is the 'IC' payment through your phone? You use either your phone or a credit card for payments. How do you know which one to use when?
Also, I was looking at everyone's shoes while you were on the train. When I was in college in a busy urban city with a metro, I saw back then a lot of commuters wore sneakers and changed into dress shoes at the office. Aren't you worried about wearing down your nice shoes walking so far in them? Why not wear sneakers and change them at the office? Is it just a North American thing 😅

Thank you for watching my video!
There are IC cards that you can charge money to ride the train. They are called "SUICA" or "PASMO". These cards can be used not only to ride the train, but also to pay at convenience stores, restaurants, etc. This is "IC".
The payment methods available at each store vary depending on the store, and the available payment methods are displayed at the store's cash register or ticket vending machine.
You have a good idea. There may be a few people in Japan who commute to work in sneakers. I sometimes go to work in casual clothes, but when I do, I wear sneakers.

Dzień dobry. To bardzo ciekawe. Bez wagi produktu trudno porównać ceny. Czy to cena za 1 kg, czy za 300 g mięsa?
