Thank you so much for posting this video. It's very easy to follow and just saved me from calling out a plumber and paying a ridiculous amount of money for a ten minute job.
Hi, thank you sooooo much!! I'm completely useless at any DIY but i followed the simple and clear instructions in this video and it resolved the problem. It took less than 5 mins. My hot tap had been stiff and not pressurised enough, and we have been having rubbish showers for weeks, as i was so worried about attempting to fix it, making the situation worse, and then being charged hundreds of pounds for an emergency plumber. Thank you.
You have given me such confidence; I will tackle my bath tap this week end. You say you're useless at DIY well, you're talking to someone who tried to vacuum their gutters out. I've been filling my bath with a basin from the hand basin for over two years. By the time the bath if full the water is bloody cold.
Thanks for making video - I have a similar issue, with the same model tap (the flow from the cold water tap is now down to a trickle). I was wondering how to take tap apart, in order to by a new stem, but it appears this is a known issue, and taking the stem apart, giving it a good clean and tightening it will solve the issue. Thanks once again, for making a very clear, and easy to follow video.
Thanks for the video. My valve / gland, was slightly different, but I took it apart, reassembled it and am pleased to say I have free flowing water again!
Worked well for me, i just did the hot and cold tap in the bath and they're like new. 16/17mm spanner, flat head screw driver, small hammer and a mini screw driver for the circlip. Oh and a bit of elbow grease 👌 thanks
Thanks pal, you helped me to fix my tap!!!! It makes me remember for what RUclips was at the beginning. Now mostly a place full of useless lazy People so called influencers . Pity . Thank you again
like others i am so happy to have found this video... I am a Landlord trying to do all maintenance of 4 properties myself... this has saved me loads of time and expense. It does seem like a basic design problem that this fault can occur & I will not buy this type of tap in the future. Thanks!!
Can anyone tell me what the name and manufacturer of this particular bath tap is. I have the same in my flat and trying get replacement valves for the basin version. Thanks in advance
I think in the hot water cylinder the cold feed pipe from the storage must have a gate valve or you drain the storage cistern or tie the ball valve with a piece of wood and string
Really helpful, thanks! One minor (but potentially major) thing. It’s probably worth having the tap in the open position when you turn the water back on... there’s always a chance or airlocks in a gravity fed system and keep the tap open when you turn the water back on will help to prevent this.
Thank you for the video. It gave me confidence to attempt this type of repair, but any ideas on how to do this on a Wickes Trade Bath Shower Mixer Tap? It does not have the same head fixture, so there is no further visible screw to turn to get the rest of the tap head off.
I have a mixer bath tap like yours and after watching I decided to give it a go:)! The cold bath water tap would not turn at all and I was going to wait for the anual boiler service to get this fixed. Then the same happened with the hot bath tap. Well today I did everything you showed and both taps are like new:)!! Thank you for this as I was resticted to the showe it is so good to have a bath again as I cannot have a cup of tea relaxing in shower. Thank you once again!!:)
Would have been more helpful if you position the camera, so your arm isn't in the way and also so we can see what you are doing out of camera shot. Much of this we can't see unfortunately, otherwise it probably would have been helpful. Thanks for the effort though.
This helped me out big time. Worked a treat on my old bath taps. They work perfectly now. No more leaks and no more sticking. Thank you mate 👍

You said you turned of the main downstairs what happens to the cold feed from the tank to the cold tap to the bathroom tap do turn that of as well
I think in the hot water cylinder the cold feed pipe from the storage must have a gate valve or you drain the storage cistern or tie the ball valve with a piece of wood and string
How do you unscrew the top of the tap, I can't seem to do it
UGHHHHH MY WATER TAO STOPPED WORKING AND THE WATER WON’T TURN OFF HOW TO FIX IT!!

I am going to try this and am a woman. wish me luck!
Didn't realise having a lady brain made following basic instructions harder.
Wait this isn't free robux
I'm a plumber and it's not an easy job 💩
Thanks for that, Welder for 20 years, maintenance engineer for the last 11 and now I can fix a Tap = Plumber LOL

Great video. Helped me fix low pressure water coming from my bath tap. Saved me calling out a plumber.
Super helpful - thankyou!
Heartfelt thanks man...times are hard right now.... Thank you ! Worked perfectly 👍👍👍
Great video! Any idea why water would only come out of the shower and not the bath when trying to with the lever?
Thank you for the video. It gave me confidence to attempt this type of repair, but any ideas on how to do this on a Wickes Trade Bath Shower Mixer Tap? It does not have the same head fixture, so there is no further visible screw to turn to get the rest of the tap head off.

In my case I have to change the tap. Are all bath taps the same? so can I just buy a standard tap refreshers?
Thanks so much for your video. Helped me get out of an expensive call out. Keep up the good work.
Thanks very much. Simple, easy to follow guide that fixed my problem in 10 minutes and saved me the cost of calling out a plumber. Cheers.
When doing this, it's a good idea to clean off all the old grease and apply fresh grease.
Not worked for me yet it still leaking while tap shut
Very useful video - just what I needed! thanks for posting!
It worked!! Nice one, thank you..:)
This video saved me a lot of hassle, my son and I managed to replace both bath taps. Thank you
