Don't kill me, but I think Roy will catch a druddigon. Druddigon matches Roy's color scheme or red and yellow. Since Roy wants to battle the legends it is fitting for him to catch a dragon type pokemon, but he is not experienced enough to train a pseudoledandary so druddigon is a good beginner dragon. Plus, druddigon can be really strong if raised right. Dryden's druddigon was able to defeat Iris's dragonite and both Alder and Iris both have one in the games of their champion teams.

Considering Druddigon isn't in the game, he'd have to get it from another region. But who knows where this story will go.
