You know what? I'm gonna say it. This is stupid. The amount of rarities in this game now is so bonkers it's hard to get excited when you pull something. I just opened three rarity collection 2 booster packs and tried to look some of the cards I pulled just to see if any were worth anything and I can't even tell which rarity type I have. It's just silly. ALL that being said. Awesome video! Very informative and helpful to anyone trying to make sense of this madness.
Lol SAME! I literally just opened the same Rarity Collection 2 packs and found this video trying to figure it out. I'm not sure how excited I'm supposed to be 😅
Awesome video! I loved that it’s very informative and shows all the examples of each rarity and explaining more details behind the rarities. Amazing content, keep it up!
My favorites are the gold rares. Especially the premium gold rares. I'm a big fan of the gold outline personally, I also think the attribute symbol being printed in gold is a nice touch. I don't have a collector rare yet, but it sounds like I'm going to like them a lot too.
Parallel rarities would be my favorite since it has a unique looking holofoil shine that covers the entire card. However it's also the card I would be playing with since it seem to be more for collecting.
I was watching the video and clicked your timestamp and it took me back 1 second cus I was literally at that exact part when I read your comment and didn't realise lol
So I wanted to talk about this a bit. What's up with the rarity distribution in general? We know that the OCG does have multiple rarities (some unique to that region, same goes to TCG also) but overall Im focusing on cards that do not have many printings, therefore not many rarities, or are "locked" in only 1 singular rarity. E.G. Ultra only. I've noted quite a lot of Super/Ultras in main boosters/boxes but a lack of Secrets for example. Does Konami just not want to print both Super/Ultra & Secret in that booster? To add, there's some if not most booster that is entirely Super/Ultra (excluding commons). Another thing is "unique" rarities that are again, exclusively "locked" behind something: a tin (Prismatic Secret, the cross-hatch looking secret variant), or a time-frame (25th Secret). I wonder why can't they incorporate those into the main booster/boxes, make it a permanent thing (especially the cross-hatch secret), just make it like idk, 1-2 slots for the rarity distribution for those booster/boxes.
Do you have a opinion on the value of DDS cards? I have a DDS PSA 4 blue eyes and PSA 6 dark magician that someone is looking to trade for and I can't get a sense of their value looking at what is currently on the market
may i ask i have a dark magician girl that has a gold stamp but the name isn't gold but looks like holographic black or purple. what kind of rarity is that?
Ghost rare are a discounted ones now and the only way to get is from ghost from the past and the only way to get them is from tsg now you can’t find them in stores now but I love the gold rare
So many rarities, fuck me man. I used a guide on a website but it helps to physically see them on video, so thank you for this. There are way too many rarities. 😂
I remember when the only rarities were common through to Secret rare...I never understood the appeal of ghost rare because I’ve always loved yugioh card art and I was never able to see the artwork in ghost rares...The colorful rare cards...I received a black text torrential tribute via a trade, and thought the person had colored over the card text in sharpie marker...thought I was scammed at first...I think the floods of rarities and reprints of common cards specifically in extreme rarities devalues the excitement of higher rarity cards, but thats just my opinion...
Maybe a noob question but are the rarities always tied to the cards themselves? I think in master duel it works so that each card has a rarity but can have different foil finishes so for example lightning storm will always be ultra rare but you can get it with normal foil or "shinier" if you're lucky. Does it work similarly here only that the "shininess" is always tied to the rarity? So let's say from a set of 100 cards is there a dedicated pool of let's say 5 cards from that set that are always super rare and can never appear as a common without foil etc? And that some cards from that set are always common and can never be "shiny"? Or does it work in a way that every card from those 100 in that set has a chance to be any rarity, so you could for example draw a common Dark Magician or if you're more lucky you get a super rare Dark Magician?
Every card from is almost always locked to one rarity in each set. With the exception of a few cards also available in a higher end rarity like starlight or ghost depending on the Era. Afterwards cards can get printed in other sets at a different rarity.
Yesterday I went to my lgs to sell me starlight rare lady labrynth of the silver castle and they told me it wasn’t a starlight rare and then proceeded to tell me they’re not well versed in yugioh and their rarities
Hey, I have a question. There is a seller on eBay who claims selling 500 cards including 50 rares and 50 holographic for 30£, but I don't know what are holographic cards since I thought they were the white cards, but a single Ghost rare is worth more than the whole plot, I wanna know exactly what is a "holo" card.
as someone whose thinking about getting back into yugioh after taking a break since 2017, I have a question that i can’t find a good link for: are certain meta cards only printed as starlight rares in a set, or do they also include a lower rarity version? if anyone could answer i would appreciate it.
Starlight rares, ultimate rares and ghost rares are upgrades for other cards. The highest you'll see cards rarity locked to is secret rare. If you need to look for a specific card I recomend using tcgplayer or the yugioh wiki.
Please help.....this question is living rent free in my head. What did you call ultimate rares as a kid? I remember it had a nickname but I can't for the life of me remember what it was. Used to call supers = Shinys and secret = Platinum
Why doesn't Konami give the cards unique IDs for a trading card game. New 2023 games are using it so registering and transfer makes sense! All these cards are mass produced like cars just listing what box they came from, reducing value.
There are 2 rare forms of destiny hero plasma that I want to buy: prismtic secret and ultimate rare. They all look so good that I don't know which one to choose
Fyi, the video footage of the 10k dragon used in this video is actually fake. The foiling pattern is a bit off from the real deal, the 10000 mark is elevated while the real one is flat. There are also a few other ways to tell, but those are the most obvious. Great video aside from that!

As a guy who likes to collect every card he gets seeing you rip the common card physically hurt. Like bro what did the card do to you? I just hand all my unwanted commons in bulk to my local cardshop to help support them, that way they could feasibly end up in the hands of someone who wants that card for whatever reason and help a small business at the same time. Don't rip your cards bro, someone somewhere wants it.
You should say this is just for the TCG, as the OCG has Quarter Century Secret Rares in the Rarity Collection Quarter Century Edition, and Extra Secret Rares in there at the very least also.

I adore Ultimate and Premium Gold Rares.
You actually missed one. In the set Duelist Saga (DUSA) all the Ultra rares had horizontal lines on the artwork. I always call them DUSA-Rare.
I don't care what anybody says, gold secret rares looked awesome!

Ultra Rare is my favorite. It has the silver text and the foil on the picture. So It got both worlds correct which is perfect. :)
