Hi Josh, thanks for these videos. Super inspiring to give me ideas to plan my own adventures. I have a bike travel logistics question for you: What do you do for bike boxes/bags/cardboard when you air travel? Do you cardboard box it, which you can discard on arrival and then get another box to fly home with (from a bike shop)? Or do you store a heavy duty box somewhere if you arrive/depart from the same airport? Or do you plastic bag it with lots of bubble wrap which is probably easier to get? Thanks Josh.
Pretty much all of the above depending on the situation. On this particular trip I left my bike bag at a hotel left luggage as I was riding a loop. For one way trip I usually use a cardboard bike box and dispose of it upon arrival. Then find something to pack it up for the return journey
What’s the safety aspect of entering the Atlas Mountains....I’ve heard there are no go areas....people have been robbed....looks a great place though 🙂👍🏻
You can get robbed pretty much anywhere in the world if you are not careful! I wouldn't say there are no go areas, but some areas are very poor so using common sense and keeping valuables out of sight and not flashing too much money around is sensible both for your own sake and also out of respect for the locals.
Questions with all this fastoacking - do you think it's worth trying to change layers whilst moving, or stopping? Plus when going steady on rolling terrain, is the perceived temperature perfectly warm, or would you rather feel mild to not overly sweat?
I get sun burned very easy .i wear baseball cap .. every sight gps glasses MTB shirt to cover my arm bright color so dji drone follow me work perfect .. MTB bike short without any padding as i use infinity seat no padding or butt cream needed ….socks merino wool socks so don’t stink and best of all Shimano XM9 Gore-Tex MTB SPD Boots for bike and hike
Great video and insight on what you wear, could I ask what's the Albion clothing like? Is the Zoa insulated jacket a neat fit? Just with sizing in cycling wear. Cheers
Yep fits really well as it more tailored towards cycling than a standard down jacket. Most Albion stuff is a fairly slim fit, I usually use medium in most things
Hi Josh, Albion doesnt seem to sell the Albion insulated jacket. Only the ultralight insulated jacket, and it has no hoodie. can you find out from them if they have discontinued the normal insulated jacket? any ideas on what the recommended min cold temp the Ultralight version can take?
I believe there is an updated version due to be launched very soon and should be available in the next couple of weeks, so I guess keep an eye on the Albion channels for news of when its available
Hi Josh, quick question on bib sizing, what size do you take? I see the leg length isn't too long on you but on the studio images, the leg lengths come right down to the knee. Cheers.
Hi, I use medium bibs and am 6ft 3 and have particularly long thighs... I probably should be using size large... but don't really like knee length shorts!
Great gear choices. What an amazing place to ride. Excellent adventure. New follower here. Crow✌️
Nice trip Josh, thanks for the insight.
Thanks for the key infos :)
Looks like the Petit Desert just outside of Maraksh….
Thanks for the video! Slightly unrelated question, may I ask how many liters of water you were carrying with you? Thanks 🙏
