My comeback meeting. Hadn't been regularly for about 15 years. Never missed a meeting at Coventry after this one. Great days and a huge crowd. Loved it 😀
Glad to see this on youtube so quickly. I couldnt get to the final last night. Great drive by Andy Smith, very reminiscent of his dad in more or less cruising around for the last 8 laps or so, remember the days when Smithy Snr would drive with one hand on the side of the car. I think themanxcat has taken the Gears and Tears thing too much to heart and Sam Wainmans comments on money. Like superstu55 said, its all about set up on the night. Great vid by the way
Great video!! I'm a 515 fan and would have loved to see Frankie win but can't argue that Andrew desreved that win he had to work for it for a change! Well done to rocket Ron Kroondor he had a go at matching Andy on speed!! I was the other side of the track so nice to see race from a differen angle!!!
Car was never illegal. It's called design and innovation. As I remember it the track was really slippy that night. All I remember is the first time Andy put his tow down he left wainman for dead. That's technique and setup. Class act
I thought I remembered Mat Newson racing a WF with no airfoil like he did this year. That cars been going a long time now still fast car. Mat just has no luck in championship events!
Frankie Wainman has put more into this sport than Andy Smith will ever do.........Fact!!!! Andy was funded by two above average family's with successful businesses and fair play to them, where as Frank funds his family by keeping Stock Car racing alive.......

After the race a picture was taken of Dave Chisholm 252,Stuart Smith 391and Andrew Smith 391 together(the three triple winners).

wainman couldn't put smithy away because he wasn't good enough he was outclassed and out drove the best won the rest is history
Ken Eley is that why frankie has just won the world? Frank could have easily drilled Andy through the wires but that isn't his driving style...
