If any game deserved a remake, its this one. Its almost good, but so much of the jumping and fighting are glitchy and janky. A modern remake would be able smooth over most of the games issues
Psychonauts 2 is a huge success for them, actually. They could also save money by reusing much of the Psychonauts 2 assets. I mean, we do have two of our child protags (Raz and Lili), the counselors (Sasha, Milla and Oleander), the villain (Loboto), the headmaster (Ford) and a couple of settings (The top of Thorny Towers and the Whispering Rock canpfire area)
Normally I'm not a fan of remakes they make nowadays, but I'd love to see a remake of this game with gameplay similar to Psychonauts 2 and see how some things like the Nightmares would look. Hopefully they don't tone down the darker themes too much.
The camera is the REAL boss in this game. When you beat the game, you beat the fucking camera! I keep floating away into the water because it cannot decide if it wants to follow Raz or his dad. FUCK.
This level while the design is amazing has some serious flaws. The butcher’s body doesn’t have good collision so Raz is constantly needing to jump up his arm....only to fall through his back due to poor figure programming. The phase with Raz’s dad is set up to be the ultimate platform level of all games....but the inability to use the camera makes even Super Mario 64s camera system feel smooth. What should be an amazing finish to a great game ends up being a frustrating slog against clunky controls and terrible camera angles.
I recommend using Levitation to get up on his shoulder, maybe ground slamming if you need to. But yeah, a few extra seconds to his stun duration would've been nice.
yup just finished today on the PC and my blood pressure was about to explode and I bought the GOG edition and it literally crashed with me about 167 times man. either during cutscenes, teleporting, saving , loading. especially during the Asylum level that level is beyond broken man. And did I mention while collecting the brains of the students it crashes as well.

Platforming is janky to especially the ropes, bounce nets sometimes i even forget you can hang off of ledges because it’s so unresponsive but it’s quite nostalgic.
God I hated the Meat Circus. And after the rest of the game was so fun! Some asshole was probably just like "Hey, we ran out of ideas. Let's just make the last level infuriating and uninspired. Everyone cool with that?" And everyone agreed.

I'm gonna save someone's controller with this comment On the first stage, use levitation, when he gets stuck, jump straight to his shoulder, it won't ALWAYS get there but it's less frustrating On the second stage, use the shield. The second stage becomes EASY when you use the shield. The bombs also have to hit his knee at a certain time, when he's mid animation he's immune, so just keep throwing them until you get lucky

Screw in particular the circus challenge. I couldn't grab onto the scaling wall be it a small twitch on the directional fall or my double jump doesn't trigger, the tight rope climb right before it I kept getting hit and falling before I could jump up to the next rope. It was the quickest way to compile the janky and sometimes unresponsive controls.
