Man I just want to really hammer home the fact that you are the only source for this content. I have watched over and over Long Hunters videos which I have purchased all my firearms from and he is awesome and his content is great. You are now putting out great new info including slow motion that really helps the new shooter. This is the kind of content that brings folks to the game. I just joined SASS this week and if you ask me this content is the the definition of spirit of the game.

Good content but one thing I always do no matter what gun I am dry fire practicing is to ALWAYS wear all my gear including my cowboy hat. I want to simulate as close to match conditions as possible and wearing the hat gives me the same site picture as in a match.. So even if it is just a shotgun dry fire day, I put my holster rig on and put my pistols in it. The same thing goes for the shotgun belt. This way, you don't create bad habits that will cost you time or DQs in a match. Just my two cents

Great tips. I grind the edge off of one side of a snap cap to use in my rifle so I don't chase ejected rounds all over the place.

Love this and need it too! The one (in addition to all that you covered!) is different starting positions. I'm a fairly new shooter and when I had to start with my shotg at port of arms...I was seriously thrown off. Thank you for your content!

Thanks for another great video! Perfect timing for a video on dry fire tips as winter is just moving in. The "one take" format works and is perfect for short topics or very specific tips like you mentioned. Good job, keep the content coming!

Enjoyed it! My wife will not like the new look Den I'm setting up though. Are the shot gun shells the only dummy shells you use? Did you know that Frank Sinatra did "One for my Baby" (and one more for the road) in one take too? Great Job!

    • @DeadEyeCowboyActionShooting
      @DeadEyeCowboyActionShooting  3 года назад +1

Haha, I wasn't that smooth! I only use shotshells and a couple rifle dummies to practice reloads. It doesn't hurt to have snap caps though.
Pro tip- frame your targets, now they're decorations 😂

I’ll bet it took more than one take to het that “one take” video down.
Your delivery was polished and tight. (Maybe because you worked so hard to “get it in one”?)
You work on the videos. I’ll work on that dry fire.
    Thanks!

Is a “one take” video the same as a clean match😏? Excellent video, keep them coming. I’ve been dry fire practicing and noticed my number of misses increasing in matches. Now I know why... I haven’t been using my front sights in dry fire practice.

Very informative! Do you use dummy rounds with rubber or spring "primers" to save the firing pin from empty strikes?

Great videos. Would it be possible to make a video(s) targeted for people looking to get into the sport? The equipment, the different events, the rules, where are the events held, etc. I’m looking for a comprehensive 101 type video and haven’t found one with as much detail as desired. Your videos are super helpful. Thanks for spending the time to make them.

I have dummy rounds that were store bought and some I made myself. I notice yours have
no primers. Is it OK to dry fire shot shells w/o primers ? I have a Stoeger by side by side.

Do you practice all guns and/or procedures at the same time? Or do you practice shotgun then rifle (for example). Right now I am only practicing dry fire at home. Maybe 30 minutes per session, because of strength! Health problems!

Just watched all your videos. Great content! We have been shooting CAS on & off for about 10 years now and thought we knew all we needed to know. Wrong! We started using some of your tips and have been able to get even better; THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
Question: do you have any experience with a hammer coach shotgun? I could not find a single video on shooting them in Cowboy Action.
    Thanks again.
